    Just so you know, the passive bonuses to spells from staves don't care which staff you're using. You can cast from one and get the bonus from the other. Same for seals. Also, the bonuses stack multiplicatively, so you can double up on the same casting tool!

      @@rishadkazi8698yes. Let's take the giants Seal as an example. Using a Giant's Flame or Flame Monk Incantations multiplies the scaling by 1.20. Having one Seal in each Hand cause them to apply both buffs multiplicative, so 1,20 x 1,20 = 1,44/ 44%more incant scaling.

      No, bubble spells are not boosted by the Albinauric Staff. No idea where you got that from but it's neither part of the staffs item description not is there any "hidden" bonus as part of the actual params (the file that lists all the weapon/spell/projectile behavior and such)
      The only unique interaction with the Albinauric staff is increased bleed buildup with Thorn sorceries because of the arcane scaling.

  • @clearlypellucid

    I think Youwy was the one who talked about Loretta's GB vs Loretta's Mastery, and Mastery only hits a little bit harder, but also has an issue where the lowest arrow almost always hits the ground when it's fired flat, which will effectively make it deal less damage every time compared to normal Loretta's. You have to shoot it up to get that arrow not to hit the ground. Kind of a big oversight. I've seen a trick in PvP where people power up the spell and free aim upwards, then lock onto a player and release the shot before their character can angle back down. Then it arcs the shot up, and the tracking is good enough to take care of the rest.

  • @luke58945
    @luke58945 Před 4 měsíci +5

    The aberrant sorceries, though few in number, are truly fantastic in my experience. Briars of Sin is excellent for baiting out trades as not many people expect the third cast and try to go in for the trade only to proc bleed on themselves. Briars of Punishment is fantastic for casting at enemies who are far away as it can travel a crazy far distance and slowly build up bleed on enemies. I found that this kind of blood mage build works best with Alberich clothes, Staff of the Guilty in one hand, and the Albinauric staff in the other. You cast through the Albinaric staff for the increased damage and bleed build up, but get the boost to aberrant sorceries by simply holding the other staff. Truly an underrated build in my experience.

    As a Loretta Mastery enjoyer I can share few tips:
    1. Cast some aoe to keep people away from you and make your magic greatbow harder to be seen. (ice storm/mist/rain of stars
    2. One arrow explodes earlier and messes up people's roll timing. If people just stand waiting for your shot - lock off, aim down and lock on again to make sure arrows will not explode at the same time
    3. Charged arrows are actually AoE - one of the easiest ways to land it is to fire it right under your feet when somebody's trying to hit you.

  • @toryunaminosaki1022
    @toryunaminosaki1022 Před 4 měsíci +3

    doesn't matter which staff you actually cast with for the bonus, just need to be holding it, or have it on your hip to get the effect, as long as it's in an active weapon slot you're good
    reason that faith guy was holding Azur's is for the cast speed buff, that works with incants too, but oddly they don't cost additional fp, unlike sorcery
    crystal torrent is basically the kamehameha spell, but lower memory and fp cost, you really do have to free aim it on a good read to land it in pvp, but i argue it better than the beam

  • @mediamammoth2675
    @mediamammoth2675 Před 4 měsíci +12

    Okay, so some pointers.
    First, when making a sorcery build, you're gonna want an INT level of 80 for max DPS.
    Next, even though some sorceries get buffs from specific staves, it doesn't matter. The best staves are Lusat's staff, Carian Regal Scepter, and Crystal Staff, and the amount of scaling they give will absolutely out-muscle whatever buffs the other staves can give.
    BUT!
    That doesn't mean you should ignore those buffing staves.
    Just keep those staves in your off-hand, and use one of the three best staves as a primary.
    If you keep the Staff of Loss in your left hand, and cast Night Comet with the Lusat's staff in your right hand, you'll get the buff from the Staff of Loss anyway.
    Next, Crystal Barrage is absolutely not terrible, and can do thousands of damage points with the right setup, and it's ease of use, and FP efficiency can potentially make Crystal Torrent and Comet Azur obsolete.

    • @fullfildreamz
      @fullfildreamz Před 4 měsíci

    @jackdague1792 Před 4 měsíci +3

    Me watching in horror as you pair up the Lusat Staff and the Azur Staff, increasing the cost of some already expensive spells even further:
    Anyways, if you wanna take another crack at sorceries, or need some help with incantations, try unlocking to throw the spell where your opponent is going to be. The default response to spells with long windups is to strafe and punish, so if you unlock to aim behind you then you're gonna have a lot less trouble hitting them, especially with spells that have little to no tracking like the Gelmir spells or Cannon of Haima. It might also be a good idea to aim the Roiling Magma at your feet as an area denial tool rather than trying to land it on your opponent, put some strategy into where you point your delayed kaboom.

    Founding Rain of Stars has 3 (and only 3) uses.
    1. To discourage melee fighters from getting too close to you while you're casting something else.
    2. In PvE, it can hit enemies hiding under ledges directly below you that you can't target with other Ranged attacks.
    3. The Aesthetic
    It may not be the best spell, but it's still one of my favorites.

  • @knightgabriel1311
    @knightgabriel1311 Před 4 měsíci

    The boosts that staves give you still apply if you have it in your off-hand and cast the actual spell with a different staff, btw. That's why it's better to have 1 high-scaling staff in your main hand, like carian regal sceptre(or lusat's glintstone staff if you're ok with 50% more fp cost), and then keep the staff that boosts the sorceries you are using in the off-hand. For NG+, some staves have a high enough boost to their class of sorceries that dual wielding them will give you more overall damage than the above mentioned combo, however it would obv only work for those sorceries in particular.
    Edit 1: Also, something to keep in mind, the claymen sorceries are better in pve. Or more specifically the great oracular bubble, you can use it as a set-up spell and fully charged I've seen it do like fucking 4k damage per hit. Plus the slow travel speed really fucks with enemies that have dodge ai
    Edit 2: From what I know Adula's moonblade and carian greatsword have the same animations and everything, so casting greatsword and then quickly switching to moonblade can catch people off guard since they won't expect a projectile
    Edit 3: Crystal torrent also is way better in pve. It's functionally identical to comet azur, but unlike that spell it actually has some tracking, only costs 1 spell slot instead of 3, and in general is just more practical. Comet azur is only good for very certain boss fights when you REALLY want that extra damage

    Great video like always! I would like to mention though, the magma sorceries performed so poorly because the Gelmir staff scales off int AND faith, and you didn't have a lot of faith. A regular int staff would've resulted in much higher numbers. Also, the Carian Regal Scepter and Crystal Staff both get a huge boost in scaling if you go from 60 int to 80. That's where the sauce is. 🤤

    You can think what you want but while melee is considered more unga bunga, you have to as a melee most times close distance, magic casters doesn't even have to move closer, they just press a button to fire nonsense at you, and you have to even dodge that to get closer to your target as a melee fighter, to even land a hit you have to make them mistime your attacks, and then you are back to the magic user running away again, the people thinking magic requires any actual skill are fools, if you optimize magic the damage output is insane, and it can be on swords to, but not in same league. Strength builds is the only build that lets you go above the max stat cap, but if you never hit a single hit, well you do 0 damage. The nastiest possible build is probably xbow or shortbow, cause the distance and speed you can achieve on that. The only limiting factor on wizard/sorc buils is the manapool, once it runs out, they have to resort to either bottles or some kinda offhand.

  • @user-od7hh8qg9d

    No, my man, night sorceries aren't niche. First of all, you don't cast them with just a single staff of loss. You either use Carian Regal Scepter for casting while holding it in the left, or a second staff of loss. Since this staff gives you +30% to the night sorceries' damage, but has really low scaling, it gets insane with a proper build.
