Using the Beast Claw Seal to cast the Bestial incantations with only 16 Strength is probably why they did so little damage. The Beast Claw Seal uses Strength scaling.
even with max strength min faith for spells it works out around the same if not worse to use that seal as the caster
I always like when people beam hardcore hentai directly into Gideon's eyes. A very fitting end for someone who saw godfrey return and said "nah im good with marika's status quo."

53:14 Loretta's spells are classified as Glintblade sorcery rather than Glimstone - the colour is actually a clue, since Glintblade sorceries use a pure blue whereas most Glintstone spells are cyan (except for Founding Rain of Stars and Stars of Ruin). But the more reliable hint is just staring at the crest that shows up when you cast it - the circular crest with two blades is the Glintblade sigil, while the Glinstone sigil is the one on Terra Magica.
Either way, not that important to the run, just cool trivia.
Carian sorceries, not Glintblade, but yeah. They were the personal spells of the Carian royal house, the rulers of Raya Lucaria, who mainly taught Glintstone sorceries.
Loretta's Sorceries are classified in their own Category. they have their own crest that looks similar to the Carian crest.

Oh, did you guys know that if you play online, Fia’s Champions take the build of everyone who hugged Fia? So you can go against an Ai version of any player who has hugged Fia, possibly even yourself

Fun fact about blackflame spells, the wave of black flame spell is just a stronger version of the fireball one with only a slight increase in FP cost with a wide range as well
Not using flame of the fell god in NG+1 is a missed opportunity. Very powerful spell
It's a good spell, but it's almost closer to being a trap spell than a pure damage output spell. Area denial more so than spammable damage
@@lori_irol on its own yes, but you pair it with something actually spammable and you can summon your orb and then go to town for 4-5 seconds without having to worry about it. Basically free damage to add on top of your main dps (super busted with blasphemous blade L2 because of the range and stagger damage makes it easier for the orb to connect)

And you're not even using the best catalyst for each run, just ones that increase the spells damage.
For a future trick involving spells. I’ll use the frenzy flame for example. If you use the seal that boost frenzy flame incantations in your off hand and use a better faith scaling seal like the erdtree seal. You’ll still get the boost of damage from the frenzy flame and the scaling from the erdtree seal. Unless that was nerfed from last time I did it. It’s not like a massive damage difference but it’s like a 100 damage to a 150
Litany of Proper Death isn't actually a bad spell it's just that it really only does one thing: kill undead.
It has pitiful base damage but absurdly wide area coverage, particularly for its very short casting animation. and that base damage isn't so bad when you realize it does *+500%* to Those Who Live in Death.
It's not super useful in this type of challenge run, because there aren't any undead bosses on the critical path, (and area coverage is of admittedly limited use against most bosses anyways) but it can make the undead-heavy parts of farum azula a breeze to traverse, flattening whole squads of skeletons at a time. Wiuld have made deathroot hunting a bit easier though probably
When Shadow of the Erdtree drops I know I'm going to be keeping this spell in mind, since SotE will probably have more undead than the base game
Deals +900% damage to undead actually. And yes, everyone who says that Litany of Proper Death is a terrible spell can't read: It was specifically designed by From Software to be only used against undead like the skeletons in catacombs and that's it.
Try it on a death bird or the undead dragon....
Shouldve used cinquadia in offhand for bestial, gives like a 10% buff to damage. Beyond that, awesome video man

Im sittin here wondering why he didnt grab the sacred scorpion charm instead of the cerulean medallion, why have slightly more fp when you can get 20% more holy damage

@@plaguedoctor5145 i mean it does have the 10% increased damage, but your goal is to NOT get hit, so its worth investing into... also how many elden ring players use radagon's soreseal as a perma talisman? Most in my experience

Failed with fire, catch flame is the most busted fire spell and he used the slower o flame instead
I’ve played this game through to NG+7 with almost every possible build but in still can’t stop watching challenge runs like this. It’s takes the spot of game ever made from Witcher 3 IMO

The official rot class of incantations also includes pest threads, so it would not have been impossible. Also, lorettas mastery looks like a carian sorcery, which is just a subsect of glint stone sorcery developed by rennalas family. You can theoretically divide spells and incantations down into like 20-30 different classes, but that would just be painful

This is an ASTOUNDING video. Really earned yourself the sub. Super looking forward to see what you do next. I'm a little surprised you never brought out the Hidden Tear for any of the more FP hungry spell schools though. Unendurable Frenzy is pretty insane with it, even after the nerfs to duration.

Rock Sling is so good, I used it as my main until I got smart enough for Night Comet / regular Comet but it's still very useful. Especially at cheesing things from the high ground. I took down the Dragonbarrow avatar from way up the cliff. Lured him with an arrow, took a few steps back when he started blasting and yeeted rocks at him until he reset, then repeat.

Frenzied flame Incantation like "unindurable frenzy" actually do more damage when you aim them manually at the ground below the enemy since more flames hit (most arch upward) and the ones that don't directly hit explode on the ground for some more fire damage

Kinda surprised you didn't do blood spells sure there is stuff immune to the breed proc but the spells still do decent damage on there own especially on lower new games

blackflame does infact scale with the bosses hp because one time i fought the fire giant with someone and they used black flame torando and even with that 50% less fire damage black flame did wonders

Fun fact, discus can hit I believe 8 times, not just twice, since it stays in one position and spins like a sawblade for a couple seconds. Abusing enemy AI and getting all those hits in is how to do it, like when Morgott does his falling sword trick

Shame we didn't see Dragon Communion. Definitely my favorite casting type. Sad that most mods can't make changes to them (due to code restrictions) and I hope that changes someday.
Nice video. Was fully engaged for the whole hour. Elden Ring is the best game ever made IMO, but one slight criticism i guess is that despite all the spells, build variety, etc. just spamming pew pew spells turns out to be the most powerful. It honestly seems like a challenging problem to find a solution to and a perfect one probably doesnt exist but at the end of the day its still fun as hell and super satisfying to just nuke bosses.

Tip for Flame of Frenzy, since the missiles spread out in a cone, if you aim at their feet you tend to hit way more of the projectiles, especially on smaller enemies

I only have 2 issues - you haven't abused double seal/staff for some spells and no spiral shard - one of the strongest spells against big enemies
jeah, the spiral would had shred through the Elden Beast for example... but you only get the spell after a "long" questline sadly, so no quick to get magic

ALL I have been thinking about FOREVER has been reliving my fight with fire giant EVERY time alexander connected a fire upper cut I just squealed and started wailing with my powerstanced katanas and I audibly stopped holding my breath in and just made the ds1 aauuhh death sound

27:27 says hasn’t used Flame, Fall upon them. Not even a few minutes earlier in the vid uses it to finish rennala. I did a faith/strength build and used the blasphemous blade and some fire and Beastial incants for Radabeast. Got heals the entire fight as long as I had the blue
this has inspired me to do the same thing but with every single sub class counted as one
After each boss you should put how many tries it took
He should have used the cerulean tear to have infinite fp so he can hold down the meteors of astel. With that tear you can get huge damage and on big bosses it can wipe out massive chunks of their hp bars
Quick tip if you use the AoW on the flail it does bleed and still works after you run out if fp

I always took it how I say it. I’ve beaten this game in multiple different ways with multiple different build, no flask (forcing healing spells I never used before) and even a level 1 run. I say I suck when I get hit by something because I have so much knowledge of the game and shouldn’t get hit (not including animation locked hits, obviously)

Fun Fact: Catch Flame is actually superior compared to O Flame, due to even faster casting, lower FP cost, and higher mobility. The DPS you can get on Catch Flame is insane.

Dragon cult incantations are my favourite and they're also the best imo. Thank God, Fromsoftware continue the trend of Lightning being powerful like in the Souls series.

I really like fire incantations because you can get Fire Scorpion Physic and 4 attacks very very easily.
During the lightning run you missed the chance to say Mor-gone

As well as going to gowery after finishing millicent's questline and killing him gives you a better version of the faithful's canvas talisman

Slept on glintstone spiral, left out ice, aberrant, night, and magma sorcerys and ignored dragon communion
66 hours? My three runs that I ran through took me like 65. Good god
Lithanie of proper death is only great against skelly and other undead type like deathbird and deathright bird then it does godly dmg. Against everything else it's shat

I'm confused. I've had a death spell run (just new game though) and all of the spells were pretty bad. Ancient death rancor was okay against some bosses simply due to the tracking (like Malenia) but the damage is mediocre at best. Never ended up using the ghostflame explosion as I also ran the death's poker alongside, which has a similar effect and from what I've read is the better one (though it doesn't do the starburst flames but only a single line). The worst part about these spells is that they require both int and faith on similar levels as other spells that only require one of them so you have to pump twice the amount of levels into damage just to get them running and then they only deal a mediocre amount of damage best case, instead of ... y'know ... twice as much as others? So maybe on NG++ that negative side effect is negated as you'll be higher level anyway. But, yeah. For a new game run, C tier at best. I did like the Tibia Summons despite their average damage because they're kinda goofy, but again, Rosus' Axe has the same effect but better. Fia's mist is PVP only, it deals no damage and the PVE enemies are immune to the deathblight effect and rancorcall is just a much weaker version of ancient death rancor, which already isn't all too good, esp. for how late you get it. Also, not sure but I think the family heads have the same ash of war as rancorcall. Kind of a shame that none of the spells is really unique.
My frenzied run (also new game) was WAY stronger. Tried unenduring frenzy once but didn't like it due to the animation, the fact you're really slow while casting, and because it slurped up my FP pretty quickly. Flame of frenzy is quicker and deals way more damage for its FP cost so I stuck with that and frenzied burst (the distance and the undodgeable instahit are insane) plus Vyke's spear. 1 flame of frenzy and Gideon went insane standing in the flames, another one down immediately to deal even more damage while he's stunned for ages, then when he finally tried to roll away, caught his minute rest of HP with a third cast, he was down in mere seconds. I'd rate it definitely a higher tier than the death spells. Also I never used the buff once. Then again, I had the physical damage of Vyke's spear to fall back to against fire resistant enemies so that might have given me a better impression of the overall build than the spells alone.
I sort of agree with the bestial judgement, though I would put them at C tier instead of B. They're all really bad besides the stone, which is decent. Just don't try to fight Malenia with it, she'll dodge them all. Had to use the beast claw and charge it up to spread the fan so when she tries to dodge, she's then still in the spell area, for I think 500-600 damage or so. Only works in first phase, though, as she's too aggressive in second phase to charge and she'll dodge it uncharged. Only thing I could use there was the bestial sling, for a lousy 200 damage, but it's super fast and safe to cast on many occasions. It was pretty rough and took ages.
All that said, I played on patch 1.04-1.08, so things might have changed since then.
I'm also surprised you used cometshard instead of comet, as that is the same spell but stronger. And according to fextra, Loretta's bow is its own category. I would certainly not count it as glintstone but rather carian sorcery, if anything. On that note, why no carian sorceries?
Also, if you group spells by their category, not their damage type, you could have easily used the rot breath, as the dragon communion spells offer *every* damage type you can think of. Rot, Frost, Magic, Fire, Physical. No boss is immune to them all, and they can deal crazy damage. Rot first, then toggle between frost and fire with the occasional physical in between, it's awesome. However, the downside of all of those spells is that they're exceptionally slow to cast, especially when you charge them. So despite their quality, they're still a challenge.
But then you also couldn't have used the black blade in the faith run as it's an erdtree spell and not a golden order one, as you mentioned. You could have done two runs though, the three crucible spells are considered erdtree as well, so that's four damage spells (+ elden stars lol). Golden order would be pretty awful then, though.
