Following the F1 Miami Grand Prix, which was won by Lando Norris, the FIA issued further penalties late on Sunday. Norris' first win wasn't compromised, but two more penalties were imposed, causing changes in the outcomes. And of course this wasn't met by welcoming words from the drivers impacted.

Sainz got angry, blaming Piastry for something that didn't happen, Piastri paid the price. Then Sainz made excuses about non existent damage, when he realised he wasn't as fast as he thought he was. Then Sainz forgot that he'd made up an story about damage and said he was catching the leaders. After the race he complained about Piastry to the media, admitted to deliberately driving aggressively and somehow got his penalty halved. Piastry meanwhile, had his race ruined, said nothing, complained to no one and made no excuses but will probably not forget (again).

My take for this weekend (maximum penalties mode):
    - First turn of sprint qualifying -> 10s penalty for Stroll [causing collision], 1 drive-through for Hamilton [dangerous driving, causing multiple car collision]
    - Whole (fking) sprint race -> KMag black flag + 1 race ban effective inmediate [dangerous driving multiple times, gaining advantage off-track multiple times]
    - Revisit on KMag's driving career -> 5 race ban [multiple attempted homicides on Alonso, Vettel, NHulk, etc]
    - First turn of the race -> 10s penalty for Perez [dangerous driving, but avoided collision]
    - Sainz-Piastri incident -> idk I need to look at it
    - That one F1 commissar that likes stamping penalties on Alonso for no reason -> Condemned to having to overtake KMag 10 times on Spa's main straight and DRS
    - Ocon -> 5s penalty

I disagree with the tires needing to be softer, this isn't making for good racing. What they need to do is bring back the longer lasting tires and limit fuel in the cars to force mandatory pitting for fuel. WEC and Indy do this and it makes for great racing. Splash N Go pit stops shake things up Hugely and prevents what we are getting now long boring leads by cars that possibly are not very fuel efficient but this couldn't happen until they bring back V10 or V8 turbos, then eliminate Hybrids and use 100% sustainable fuels. Only then I believe we will truly get back real "unscripted" racing. Imagine Max with 2 laps to go almost running out of fuel and having to stop for 10 secs for fuel. or a 2 sec stop n go splash then trying to keep ahead. Or a Haas, using their fuel efficiently by stopping with 10 laps to go getting a win using a strategy. Remember mansell running out of fuel just short of the checkered I remember him getting out and trying to push his car over the line. I know its dangerous but what would that do for racing, it would make it unpredictable and exciting again

" ... mitigating circumstances ... " my arse. Carlos caused an accident that resulted in significant damage to another car. He should have been penalized 10 seconds and the two points. No question.
Try explaining to your insurance company that it was just a little bump that resulted in the other vehicle needing a new front end and not getting penalties and points added to your policy. Yes, I understand it was frustrating to be held up by clever track positioning of a car ahead of you. Carlos can be just as frustrating to cars trying to pass him at times. I like Carlos and consider him a fine race car driver, but the eventual penalty did not fit the crime. It was too lenient!

Seemed pretty fair to me… first corner incident generally is overlooked piastri didn’t run him off the road Sainz ran out of road. Sainz lost control and caused accident whilst overtaking.

sainz ruined piastris race so that seems more than fair. Sainz got half the penalty of what he should have gotten.

????how did he ruin it? Piastri turned into him from a full car behind. He simply misscalculated distance and is fully on piastri. Sainz didnt push him off the track, like he did earlier in the race. If anything he would have deserved 10 seconds.

F1 is a farce. We can all laugh at the sinking ship. Bad tracks wich eveyone hates that do not produce real overtaking, engines that sound like tractors and cost millions of dollars each, excessivly complex ground effect floors that ruin overtaking further, cars wider than a barn that kills any chance of real overtaking. without idiots like Magnusen u woudl have no drama at all, its all depednant on safety cars, and strategy, how many times do u see a leader beeing overtaken these days unless he has a technical problem or is on a completly different tire strategy (30+ lap older tires than car behind)? almost never is the answer. Small teams got zero shot to wins, the "drama" is about figting for lower spots..who cares? racing is about winning races and chmapionships, nobodu cares what team beats what other team in the constructors championships except sponsors maybe and the peope in those teams themselfes!
its predictable, barring huge indidentsofocurse, when these do not happen wich is most races, you have a procession of cars. stupid penalites given out for minor stuff is also ruining the "sport", its facical at this point. it will get qorse until 2026 only then may any real change happen. Ratings have fallen after 2021 an the netflix hype.
the honeymoon is over, people relaize now F1 is back to normal wich meamns worst racing series in the world. Ban ground effect, get rid of the hybrid shit engines make cars less wide and go to tracks that are good race tracks not shit tracks liek Miami. F1 has some decent ones left but most of the nwer ones in middle east is shit. atlest in Monaco there is a chance for rain and crashes , most places driver can drive off track with no issue no barriers, no gravel, just tarmac!! no danger, no penalty for driving off track ! INSANE! F! is INSANE! what a shitshow.

Sainz losing one place from 4th to 5th is a light penalty compared to Piastri being sent to the back of the field.
Sainz whines like a baby every time someone refuses to to move aside for him. To get back at Piastri, he deliberately locks the rear end. No sympathy from me.
When everybody else it at fault, Carlos, it's actually you who is the problem.

He’s looking like a crybaby, like I get him being bothered but some piastri’s driving but when he asked he racing engineer go tell the rival team to give the place back, like that’s petty.

hamilton rams 3 cars at the start of the sprint, no pen.
Piastri loses the car and collides with Sainz, pushing him out of the track. No pen.
Perez loses the car and almost rams 3 cars, including carlos who has to brake to avoid it, and goes out of track. No pen.
Sainz passes cleanly a driver, and once he is ahead, the other driver doesnt avoid collision despite having plenty of space. Penalty for sainz.
    Fia is rigged.

If car 81 gave enough room then there would not be a collision.
