You sure know how to raise food. Congratulations. Our world needs more farmers like you. I’m 82 and just learning about no digging garden. The truth is in the results.👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯
Wow wonderful 👍❤️
Look good Farm 👍🏻
I really enjoy watching your videos 👍❤️
Hey there! I'm glad you enjoy them! Thanks for watching:)
Hey Moreno. Fellow no dig market gardener. Love your channel bro. Love how abundant you are already
Your videos are amazing. I’m growing flowers and veggies just for our family and won’t ever expand past that due to my age and health but I love watching your videos! They are beautiful and inspiring even for just growing your own! Many thanks for your videos! They are amazing!!
Thanks Moreno ! Always inspiring !
Thank you Aurélien!
High quality video. Both - form and content.
Thank you !
Great job again Moreno!
Thanks Erik!
I am so glad I've discovered your videos. I am learning so much from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🤗
Hey Odette, that's good to hear! Welcome to the channel:)
Thanks ❤️
@@TheDutchFarmer thank you. Keep up the good work!
Bending forward is very valuable for people who have very flexible hamstrings and calves, because then their back is protected, but definitely NOT for people who have tight legs back muscles, tendons and ligaments indeed !
Personaly, I enjoy gardening on my knees.
Your videos are always perfect 👌
I hope you'll continue that way.
Thank you so much!
Hey Kevin. Thanks for the nice words! They're highly appreciated👍
Good to see your videos, now after a long gap.....
Hey Prakash. Farm life sometimes gets in the way;)
@@TheDutchFarmer Yes, enjoy and take care, we learn new techniques and also enjoy your videos....
Hi Moreno! interesting videos. I'm not a commercial grower but I do use a planter drill auger to create the holes for the plants. Much easier and faster. if you have a battery operated drill, you just need to buy the auger head. Looking forward to your May video.
Hey there! I can imagine that it can be quite easy with that indeed! But as I mention in the video, it's no big deal for us to create the holes for the tomatoes and heat loving crops. Since we're not planting them often (only a couple of days per year), it doesn't take us much time anyways. Thank you for your input:)
Good job 👍👍
Thank you! :)
Awesome quality content.
Few question if you have time :
- Is your compost certified organic, and where do you source it?
- How do you comply with the 170kg of N/ha organic regulation?
- And with one greenhouse, how do you work you crops rotation to respect the organic regulation (tomatoes after tomatoes)?
I'm organic small farmer in south est of France, and those are the key problem that I have with my certifier that stop me to go no did and event smaller :/
Thx Moreno !
PS : I've been watching lots of content like yours from USA, Canada, and it's so nice to finally see someone doing so in France !! Much proud
Very clever job. Thanks for great video :)
Very informative and enjoyable video as usual! Thanks Moreno 🌱 👍🙂
You describe everything well keeping it simple that's why anyone can understand and find gardening interesting. Thanks for making such videos and inspiring people to do gardening 😇
Best wishes from India 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing valuable information with us.
Thank you. Inspiring and very educational!
Hey Tormod, thanks! Hope you got something good out of it!
Leuk je hier op yt tegengekomen te zijn. Nice video!!!
Great going mate!👏👏👏
Thank you Vicky!
Perfect, informative video as always. Thanks for doing it Moreno !!!
Hey Peter, thank you for the kind words! They're highly appreciated:)
Hello Moreno, Thanks again for another awesome video, I am sure learning a lot from your helpful market gardening insight. My zucchini plants are blooming and my tomatoes are about the same height as yours. Keep the videos coming buddy!
Hey Mario, I'm happy to hear that! Good luck with your plants!👍
PS: Check your email;)
@@TheDutchFarmer Thanks Moreno, I will send updated images.
Thanks for sharing your experience Mr. Moreno, really appreciate it.
You're welcome :)
Thanks Moreno! Great information in this video that is, what a surprise, hitting me with information that is most needed at this particular time of the year! Keep on going!
You always give out great info as always I really enjoyed the watching. Thanks Stay safe
Thank you. Happy Spring.
Hi Moreno, nice video! I like that you are talking about body position/posture. I agree with some of it but most important is keeping your lower back straight. If you have the flexibility streched out legs and a straight lower back can also be great. (I would strongly recommend Yoga!) Also you need a longer handle for your rake! You want to be standing up straight with the chest out while working with long handled tools..
Thanks for sharing. Stay encouraged, your work is making a positive impact. Inspiring.
FANTASTIC VIDEO! I LOVE THIS!!!
Great as always, Nice video !!! Please include more informatin on tunnel house management and also provide some info on fertilizers which you are using apart from compost.
Heyyyyyyy i would love to see harvest videos and your farm look gorgeous 😍😍
Fantastic setup and excellent explanation. Well done.
Richard from the UK
Hi Moreno! I really like your kind of videos, they are well made and very usefull. Have a nice month!
Hey Alessandro, thank you! Hope they'll serve you well. You have a nice month too! :)
Very interesting content! I love it! Keep up the hard work!
Great video. We will share this with our customers for sure :) We sell land in rural areas and this will help generate some great ideas. Thanks for creating this!
Gracias. Saludos desde Buenos Aires Argentina
Thanks for answering my question about compost at the beginning of the video! All the best!
Hey Dano, glad you got something out of it! Take care!
Thanks ❤️
Nice my birtday also is April .. colorful market gardening 😍& super interesting video❤ you can learned a lots about farm or gardening 😍
Very pleasing garden.......
Another very timely and practical vlog! You are a super teacher, and you explain everything so well. We are very grateful to learn from you. Thank you for including the washing and packing process--and for making those show notes for future reference. :)
Hey there Crane Family! Thank you for the kind words! Taking notes is crucial for future decision making. This way you can measure whether certain tasks are worth doing (or not), and whether crops are making a profit or a loss. This will allow you to continuously optimize your farms production and increase your revenue, ultimately allowing you to make a living from the farm:)
Thank you so much for all the info you have shared Moreno !! great help for all us getting started, we are just about to be up and running for our first season with our home based market farm here in north Idaho usa.
Hey Shawn, you're welcome! Great that you're getting started too! I wish you all the best and good luck👍
Awesome gardens fella.
Great video! I'm learning a lot! Mabuhay!
Thanks for making such great videos! I am beginning my first year of market gardening and your information is so helpful.... I need to get some polytube for my rake :-)
Hey! I'm glad you like them and find them helpful! Good luck with your farm :)
Great work
What a super farmer!
Great video! So glad I receive the notifications directly to my email. Could not believe how close together you are able to plant. You follow the "rules" and end up wasting a lot of space. If I could give the video multiple thumbs up I would. Thanks, from quite a ways away from your farm.
Thanks for focussing some of the video on pest managment. It seems to be a really crucial part of your project! Implementing necessary systems to reduce this will definitely help!
Hey there. Yes, pest management is important for several of our crops. Fortunately it's pretty straight forward and we don't have to bother with chemicals!
Great video, Grow on!
I decided to make beds according to your principle this season. I'll see what happens. Thanks from Russia! 2021. may
Yoga is a must do to deal with pain from the gardening work...
Hey Bob, if you keep your body's position right, there shouldn't be any pain. Some muscle soreness from repetitive work is normal, pain isn't. I've never really done yoga so I wouldn't be able to say whether it could help, but I can imagine that it can help! Thank you for your input :)
Ничего не понимаю😀😀, но очень нравится твой метод работы 👍👍👍💪💪💪
Moreno, it would be nice if you told how you care for tomatoes, namely, how and how you fertilize them and how to deal with pests. Do you use aerated compost tea or something else? please share with us in the nex videos👍👍👍
Hey Sky Max, thanks for your feedback. I'll make sure to include some updates in future videos about the tomatoes with additional information!
Another excellent video!! I was wondering if you have a greenhouse. Nice one you have. An awesome video idea for you is how to set up a greenhouse. What frame do you use? How much does it cost? What kind of covering do you use?
Love your channel. To the point.Am looking for ways to make hot compost. Any step by step procedure would be appreciated.
Woop!
👍😉
What kind of compost or mulch did you put in between the beds and how to get/find it. Thank you so much your videos are really interesting and helpful.
Wow
Super
Another great video. Where do you get those trays and matching dibber plates from? ive never seen them before and would love to get them.
Hi Moreno, congratulation for the channel. Can you please tell us if there are mouse in your farm and how do you remove them? Can you do a review on your manual seeder that appears in your videos? Thank you so much.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👍
Hello Moreno, Thank you for all of the great content you are putting out and for helping us with your videos. It is greatly appreciated. I have a question for you. I am starting my farm on what used to be forested land and is now cleared land. There are many root systems still in the land that was excavated by a machine and now I am working on getting rid of all of the big roots and waiting on my ground covers that will help in killing off all seeds and life underneath.
Do you think, growing in these conditions, that I will have a big problem with competing trees/ root systems and also is the soil in a forest, going to be too hard to grow in, due to the high fungal matter?
Sending you good energy from Canada and thank you for everything you do for the community! Hope to hear from you!
Warm Regards,
Cesar
Its NICE
Heel interessant!
Hey Cornenho, thanks!
👍
Молодец 👍
Учусь у вас,как ловко получается аккуратно
Great video! I love your content. It inspires me to want to start my own market garden. I was wondering if you could do a video specifically about setting up your watering system? I see a lot of farmers using "drip tape", but I'm not familiar with how to set it up and how expensive it is.
Hey Nicholas, I'm happy to hear that! I'll try my best to create a video about the watering system on our farm!
@@TheDutchFarmer I would also love to see a video about setting up the watering system. I have the supplies but you plant a lot closer than we are used to in the US. Your system is much better, especially with tomatoes. I always end up with too many seedling for the spacing they suggest here: 1 1/2 - 2 feet apart.
Have you thought about doing the paper pot planting system? And if so, what all types of plants can be used for that.
I'm really impressed of your farm! Thank you for sharing this content! I have one question: could you measure the diameter of gridder's metal wheel and also width of whole roller? Thanks!
Thank you for all of your amazing videos. Do you have a map of your farm that you are able to share? Also, what is the distance between rows you have chosen? 12 inches? Or perhaps less?
Hey Tuxorz, I don't really have a map of the farm. In this video you can see a little bit of drone footage: czcams.com/video/rb20Akch9ZM/video.html (minute 4:00). The pathways are about 10/12 inches. Hope that helps!
🤗💞
Amazing content Moreno!! I admire so much your work!! Can I please ask you ... what is the distance you use for most of your crops with your "gridder" machine? I know that you have a neighbord who makes them, but is it an easy to find machine?
Many thanks again for sharing your hugely invaluable knowledge!!
Merci Georges! I do the occasional hand weeding, but that's it. We don't use any other tool for weeding anymore. Though initially we used precision hoes. Now the compost has sufficiently smothered out the existing weeds. The only weeds we have now are flying in from neighboring properties. These are easily managed by hand. For tomatoes in the high tunnel we put a 5cm layer of well rotted cow manure, topped off with another 5/10cm of compost on top. No other mulch. We'll still be growing quite lots of crops below the tomatoes and cucumbers (interplanted), so mulch (other than compost) is not always very practical.
Thanks for the constructive feedback! I couldn't agree more about the microphone! Haven't had much time to look into it, but will surely get one as soon as possible.
PS: Hope you don't mind my response in English!
Thanks ❤️
@@TheDutchFarmer Thanks a lot for this ! That seems like an amazing technique ! Do you load your wheelbarrel with a small digger or with a shovel (must be quite physical to lay that much compost everywhere... ) ? What are the crops you interplant between cucumbers and tomates ?
Thank you for turning your fan off before filming!! 💙🌱
Hi Moreno! Love your videos.Question for you-are you letting the tops of the turnips dry before putting them into storage? Do you wash your lettuce? Richard Perkins is saying he doesn't anymore because it is coming out so clean. He just puts it on the label to wash it. And how does your production do so well with so many trees in your garden? That is amazing to me.
Great video can you make a video about compost
✌👏✌
What type of compost do you use?
Hey Alissa, the one we use this year has been from composted green wastes. In the high tunnel we also use well rotted manure. Hope that helps!
Thanks for another great video! My question
what is the width of your beds?
Thanks, so can I ask about: 1- What type of compost do you use?
2- How can I make a good compost at home?
Hey! 1: Well rotted cow manure & Green waste compost. 2: I'd recommend you look into the "Berkeley Method" of making compost. It's the fastest way you'll be able to get usable compost.
hey Moreno, thanks for the great video. Wanted to ask about the other plant you had in the tomato bed. do you practice companion planting and if so what guide do you use? Thanks.
Great video. I can imagine you need a lot of compost every season so I'm wondering where do you get all that compost? Do you produce it yourself? How much compost do you use per season?
i would love to know that too!
i am right now starting trials on wormfarm with human poo aswell as organic waste. i wonder if you could do this large scale in a quite natural way.
i find the soil coming out of it - pure humus - far superior than any other compost, especially classic thermic compost which is quite lifeless.
äif anybody is interested in converting human waste to pathogenfree humus, here is the link to a seven year experiment of a friend of mine:
www.corneliusonline.com/blog
Yes me too...following...🤔
I move to countryside to farm vegetable do the way you farm
Are you using natural ways of pest control? Like “ brandnetelgier” or planting different kinds of plants in the same bed?
Hi I'm just starting off my garden, my soil is clay, what tips to help my soil
hello, what's the name of the “plastic” you use to cover your crops in winter?
Hey Eduardo, it's called "Fleece" or "Garden fleece". A quick Google search and you'll find it👍
Wonderful information. What do you use to start seeds? Do you make your own?
Hi Moreno, I wondered which rubber bands you find the best (in terms of sizes - both width and length) for bunches of different vegetables. Do you have only one standard size or do you differentiate for say Swiss Chard, Kale and other leafy greens vs Turnips, Radishes, etc.
Hey Moreno, how do you deal with slugs? I have quiet some issues with slugs eating my crops such as lettuce...
Does the insect netting help against that? In my experience they crawl under the fleece, so I suppose they also can do that with the netting, but maybe it is just my tactic to use it that’s wrong...
Hi, where did you buy the seed trays and the dibbler that pulls all the seedlings out of the tray like that? Ty.
Hay great video. Love your work any chance you have a link for the dibble plateHay great video. Love your work any chance you have a link for the dibble plate as I was unable to find one on google
Great turnips! Are we supposed to squat down like people do in Asia or bend over like in Africa? The only motion that gives me slipped disks is digging, so now I garden no dig!
Can u tell me do u change every year compost? And if u not, how plant have every year nutrition?
Where do you get your dibble plate?
how much spacing do you keep between your seedlings? pls reply
