Had the phone a few days now and I think it's brilliant , however I hear it is possible to download an ap to make it an external wifi router, how can I achieve that?

ive been waiting for Nokia to bring a device like this to Tmobile for a long time but what makes this stand out from any other slide out phone other than being a Nokia?

how come in most of his videos the actual reviewing/unboxing part's sound is much quieter then the introduction and music in the beginning. or is it just me?

@freerideking06 no the battery's working fine for me. maybe you over charged the battery too much because you might have forgotten about it and fallen asleep, is that right. if you charged the battery too much it will die and might explode. when it is fully charged, unplug the charger asap.

Yeah i brought it and sold it after 1 month, but yeah it might of improved with firmware updates, one thing i didn't like with it was when you slide out the keyboard it had a rattle and that used to bother me :(
It's ot really the first meamo device because there are already 4 platforms before this one right? correct me if I'm wrong.

resistive touchscreen might be an older technology but more accurate than capacitive. you can use almost everything around you to poke the screen. reacts through pressure. theorized that it can also do multi touch but depends if the function will be used by the os and programs...
capacitive touchscreen is more finger friendly. reacts to body's electricity w/ just the slightest touch and can do multi touch. a disadvantage in cold places as gloves blocks electricity of the fingers...

It is atleast sturdy with the slider opening less. Its helpful if you happen to drop the device with the slider open

nice phone no doubt.. still all those new htc phones and droid didnt convince me either to give my 3gs the boot..
I'm going to wait for a firmware update and see what features they add before I buy one of these.
Nah, I have quite large hands myself and haven't found it a problem, if you ever find anything you can't touch on sites, zooming in and/or using the stylus helps a bundle. It's nice to have the option.

I cant wait to get nokia n900 for tmobile if its release. Linux software is good start.

Suggestion Noah > Use a clip on microphone or a better mic for the reviews so the voice is consistant regardless of how far you are from the camera.

Looking forward to it! It's really such a shame that in developing countries we have to wait a lot longer to get one of those devices, like it's incredible! I mean I'm recently getting my N97 bought and it's fucking expensive. Wish I could get the N900 Soon as possible, yet I will have to wait till next year, I reckon!
in italy the n900 has some differences and it cost much more ò.ò anyway nice unboxing ^^

i just bought the hd2(which in e.u. costs 630€) and it's really great..but in a couple of days i'll get the n900(which costs 599€ so u'r so lucky having it at 544bucks) cause it's a complete phone..

@guthixfrog I have the phone. The keyboard works very well and feels positive, and the screen is responsive, but not the most. Resisitive screen is no match for capactive.

No multitouch hasn't slowed me down one bit on it.
just remember you can only use skype, aim, and the web when there is wifi, unless you have an expensice data plan on prepaid, which won't make much sense.

Because the Droid will have more Apps then the Maemo5 will ever have, Nokia is only going to release one Maemo handset a year, and tell me how many developers will develop for two handsets?
researched this phone loads very impressive more of a serious device compared to iphone 3gs. it needs 1ghz snapgragon processor however. personally waiting for htc passion/dragon early 2010 on android 2.0
like the macbook pro in the background.

Amazon is charging $544 for the N900 right now even though I ordered mine for $644, so they keep raising lowering the price by about 100 bucks every couple of days. I should have been getting mine today until I got an email from them saying it won't be here until Dec. 25-28. I'm getting really antsy!

depends on your wireless provider. tmobile go with n900. at&t iphone and droid for verizon. Iphone is the best of the three tho.

i i think most people would go for htc hd2 but imo the os on n900 (maemo 5) is way better. its great if you like to browse the web and its also got a great media player.
persoanlly, id pick the n900 over the hd2.
the N900 looks ballin but they need to make it thinner...

if i have choice between iphone 3gs and this,i would go for this.Iphone 3GS in india costs 31000.and this one is 33000.i would pay 2000 more for better handling,user friendly and reliable phone.nokia has done it.they created some masterpiece touch phones.i have the 5800 and i know they are good.
