Chinese SHRIMP FRIED RICE recipe under 30 minutes! You will never do take out again! Mansa Queen

- Save this recipe for whenever you have leftover white rice and need to make dinner quickly under 30 minutes! Once you master this recipe, you will never do Chinese take out again, it’s that easy and delicious! Adjust all ingredients to your preference especially the sauces. Enjoy!

Ingredients I used
8 cups of cooked day old jasmine rice ( 4 cups uncooked)
1-1.5 lbs raw shrimps
1 cup julienned carrots
1 small diced yellow onion (optional)
Dark soy sauce
Regular / low-sodium soy sauce
Oyster sauce
1 Tbsp crushed garlic
1 Tbsp sesame seed oil
2 eggs scrambled
2 Tbsp butter for the eggs
Vegetable oil
Salt
Black pepper
Chili pepper flakes
3/4 cup chopped spring onions for garnish
Note: cook the rice at least a day before and refrigerate overnight. I froze mine for about 1 hour before cooking. Make sure to break any lumps in the rice before adding it to the wok ( trust me, your arms will thank me lol). Add the spring onions after you turn off the heat to avoid wilting. It’s just for garnishing and added flavor.

If you forgot to make your rice ahead of time it's ok. You don't need to use old rice if you forgot to make it the day before. I just put mine in the freezer for a while maybe an hour or so after its cooled from cooking and it's the same as "old" rice!

Can you use olive oil instead of vegetable oil?
@@lollipop4163 you have to use an oil that can take high heat without burning so I wouldn't choose olive oil.

I delivered for a Chinese restaurant and everyone was crazy about the French fries. I cooked some for myself to see why they were so good. I sprinkled salt on the fries and I noticed the seasoning Accent (MSG) mixed with salt in the shaker. That’s crazy!
Love this dish! Big fan of the way you present your recipes too. I'm the cook in our home. My wife of 50 years was a very good cook. A few years after she passed - Leukemia - I met and fell in love with Carolyn, who asked two questions at the beginning of our relationship: How old are you and Do you cook? I was 72 at the time and "sorta lied" about Do you cook, so she gave me a pass on the age. Ha. Turns our her husband stupidly told her right after they married that she was a terrible cook, his Mom's cooking was way better, et al. Finally, she said Okay, from now on YOU are the cook. It was that way for 37 LONG years. She finally dumped him. We met 7 years later and have now been married for 8 years. I'm blessed. Two home runs. And, I've actually become a pretty good cook! Thanks partly to your recipes.

I would recommend adding frozen green peas and baby corn sliced in half and lengthwise. There are many options for additions to fried rice, but this recipe is just perfect “as is”!

I tried this recipe for Christmas and my family loved it!! I put a little spin on it by adding some Maggie shrimp, I felt like it needed that little umph! I didn't have the other sauces you mentioned, all I had was low sodium soy sauce. So maybe that's why it didn't have much flavor. I hooked it up with my own seasonings( a little bit of garlic powder, black pepper, and so on) and it came out bomb!!! Thank you so much for this recipe!! It came out 🔥!!

Oh I'm forsure going to have to try this, it looks so good. I'm 65yrs old I remember my daddy making this dish with everything but the carrots and extra soy sauces. She also used frozen. When she said "fresh" what she meant was raw & not pre-cooked. Then she says you can also use pre-cooked to, but she doesnt.

LOVE you, Queen! The fun of cooking is adding your own favorite ingredients. With fried rice I add sliced water chestnuts, bok choi, toasted cashews, and some bits of char siu (Chinese BBQ pork) that I keep on hand in the freezer. Char siu seems very mysterious but it's a very easy recipe that elevates homemade fried rice to restaurant quality. (The secret is marinating the pork in the fridge for 1-3 days.) "Mindy" on her channel called *"Souped up Recipes"* is one of the best cooking teachers I've found on CZcams for Asian recipes.
