45 days in now...another 45 to go before I hit 90!
YES! "Internal motivation." Meaning, knowing you actually really want to stop the habit. That you are truly done with it!!
In my experience, quitting porn was the easy part. The hard part is overcoming lustful thoughts and sexual impulses. The need for sexual pleasure is stronger for some than it is for others. But as another youtuber put it, it's better to be lustful than it is to be lustful and also addicted to porn. Porn itself can literally ruin lives and change people for the worst.
So what do you do when lust hits you?
Ignore it? Repress it?
Master bate to release it?
Use substitutes?
My best strategy is to simply release it as fight as I can....
I masterbait.
I simply can't trust myself, Especially when i'm tired, To sit with the lust. It HAS to be dealt with!!
@@MultipleGrievance combination of all tbh. But sometimes you have to remind yourself that you're still a guy. It's normal to have those thoughts
I think everyone feels lustful at times, it is natural as a human being to have lustful feelings and thoughts. I think it's important to be aware of it and control your urges when they overcome oneself.
Nothing wrong with lust and sexual desire. However when you get to the point that only internet porn does it for you, there is a problem.
Day 13 here, just started on the journey. I don’t know what’s the first thing to help me quit for good but what prompted me to embark on this journey in the first place was stumbling upon your videos a while ago and realising what I was doing to myself
Thank you for the different perspectives in this video, it was very helpful. For me, it was realising how much impact it was having on my life (internal motivation) and also taking the pressure off by focusing on one day at a time. I also believe watching porn, it becomes a habit & we can learn to change our habits. And I totally agree Dr Trish it's a process.
Thank you so much for the video! I think quitting porn is the starting point but as both of you said it is the underlying struggles which need to be addressed to really understand which needs you have and what you can do to fullfill them.
I hope to be in your program by the end of this year Dr. Trish🙏🏼
Yes, you have to have that aha moment (s) that gives and keeps the desire to get well, and finding the tools to get that done.
I've had 5 or 6 AHA Moments..... the reasons are ask thier and they are solid.
I have all the best reasons in the world to stop.
I'm obviously missing something that's vital to me.
it’s true, i had my true aha moment 11 days ago after watching porn on and off half of my 23 years on this planet
Very Beneficial, Thank You Both. 👏
I NEVER used to watch porn but because of these videos I DO: it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy !!!
I’m on Day 11 of no PMO with one small slip up yesterday, but once that switch flipped 11 days ago i knew i was done with it forever.
Thanks for the video and the time you put into keeping us away from porn!
Trish, could you please let your guest finish his sentences? I'm having the impression that he is not getting enough time to say what's on his mind. I had the same impression in the last episode of this interview/cocreation format.
Very informative ❤❤ today's youth must watch your videos 🇮🇳❤️
I’ve been porn free for a year now but still suffering from pied. I hope I overcome that soon 😢
Speak to your doctor, try some sildenafil or tadalfil. In my experience, just needed a jump start. Also are you taking any SSRIs (anti depressants)? If so, they can cause erectile dysfunction and sexual problems
@@walkerrobinson9614
Good idea....
Might just need an aid for self esteem. Pills worked wonders for me...... And then at some point your body just takes over.
Hey man, don’t know if many have said it to you but I am really jealous of you in a great way, that’s so admirable that your a year free, and I’m very proud of you. God is aswell. Be grateful your free from porn because that nasty wickedness that we put on ourselves could have much worse to you than pied, you will get it back someday, keep working out, eat healthy, and stray away from lustful thoughts that align with porn. I’m proud of you my friend.
@@WarriorOfTheNarrowPath Thank you so much for the encouraging words 🙏🏾
@@walkerrobinson9614 I really appreciate your advice 🙏🏾
I started the recovery meter 8 months ago with 60 slips or more. Should the meter zero or decrease and continue the recovery journey after that? Please answer my question.
I love the boat and the jungle analogy. That's the way it was for me with drinking twenty seven years ago. I got to a point where said I just can't do this anymore and let the boat go on by itself
where can I find zoom meetings for this???
I think it's a disgrace that you charge $800 to vulnerable individuals - for 'virtual' assistance. I hope people just stop at your YT videos, because that's pretty much all they need.
Does it cause permanently brain damage
Ofcourse bro,I am suffering a lot due to this
It seems to not cause permanent damage.
Pray for me ❤😢
Hey listen straight up prayer works I believe that. But you’ve got to believe you’re not a victim in a situation you created. Have accountability, you can do it!
You're doing god's work 😭
Dr. Leigh, what can you tell me about CDP-Coline as a supplement to speed up recovery?
I'm going to write a mission statement. I already know all the reasons why but it might help in the moment to have a manifesto to read.
Something written as eloquently as possible. That hits me in the GUT 👊
That might work, as I know it's my prefrontal cortex that's battling my amygdala, which is the seat of emotions right??
Maybe if I give my higher functioning some leverage 🤔
How come you didn't study medicine yet call yourself a doctor? :/
Are all group meetings created equal?
Definitely not.
That's why it's important to start your search now....
Try different fellowships.
Test the waters.
It's necessary to connect with the right people & you could be searching for awhile. So start NOW !
😊
❤
what she said was to a T, when that lightbulb hits after X amount of attempts, it’s different then any other time.
Can't afford your course I'm out of a job
Porn doesn't affect your life in a negative way, unless you already are a negative person It is a privilege to be able to enjoy it and use it to our advantage. It is all about building your perspective and not just listening to people tell you what's good or bad in exploring your sexuality, go for it and experience it for yourself.
you’re a terrible person for coming and saying that here
@@hunterhuie1550 you think? Sorry you got some thin skin.
@@edwinmoya8042 No you are a terrible person for saying that.
Most people here are suffering, horribly.
Most people gave lost friends, relationships, jobs and respect.... And you come here and say "nah it's all good"... Wtf is wrong with you
Delete you comment you bad person
Porn has ruined my life, 2 partners have left me. Any friend i went to for help has deserted me.. and you wanna say that it's not bad?
You really need to wake up and delete this comment...
Why don't you go to a heroin group and tell them heroin isn't bad. FM me
You are lying to yourself.
Porn in excessive use with masturbation is destroying people's lifes.
I recently relapsed 15+ times and watched prn 3 days straight. I feel so exhausted. Just sadness and exhaustion. I wish attraction didn't exist.
Hey bro. Is there something going on in your life that's bothering you and you are not able to do anything about it? This can lead to using porn as a coping mechanism.
@@punpompurhe’s just horny nothing wrong with him don’t put that in his head mate
Don't do it again if u want to have a fruitfull and sensible life.
@@punpompur Yes, there is something. Something that I wish I didn't have.
I do it like 5 times in a month yesterday i did it I'm so struggling to quit this too from next month i will try not to relapse again please pray for me
Hello doctor,
Can pornography have an impact on stuttering or stammering? When I watch pornography and masturbate, I feel really bad afterward, and my speech becomes almost incoherent.
Number 1 is to stop just living in your house for 10 years never going outside. Need to get back into college, get a job etc . Otherwise its impossible.
For a porn addict I would say yes .......!
You being at home all the time with nothing to do and know where to go is like the alcoholic who hangs out of the bar every day.
You don't stand a chance 🤳
Surely it's possible staying at home.
@lucasvermeulen4454
Possible?
It's always possible.
Smart? No. Not if you have a lot of technology that's connected to the internet.
LAte night
No Porn
No Porn is life
This is complete nonsense. ONLY IN AMERICA! Utter claptrap.
I'm very thankful for this channel's content. Avoiding slippery ritual situations has a much greater success rate than resisting and relying on will power. Once you get on a no-fap streak for a few weeks it gets amazingly easier.
People in the porn industry are victims but so are the people here that have suffered from being users. And everyone around someone is affected by someone in deep sin.
