What is Tank Crew? A new ground-breaking tank simulator by the team that brought you IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad. Drive some of WWII’s greatest battle tanks in close quarters ground combat during the Battle of Kursk, namely in the Prokhorovka sector. In the largest mechanized battle of all time, you can command your tank crew in both single-player and multiplayer environments and battle the enemy in intense missions and grueling combat. Maneuver your tank to find the enemy’s weak-spot while trying to keep your own tank’s vulnerabilities from being exposed. One carefully placed round is all it takes to decimate your crew and destroy your tank! - Hry
Even though I address it in the video it seems I need to mention it here. This campaign uses the tanks available in Tank Crew to recreate engagements around Moscow during 1941. Some of the models are incorrect and do not fit the time period appropriately. I am aware of this. Despite this I decided to play the campaign anyways because I found it to be a well made community campaign.
The proper pronounciation for Waffen is Vaffen.
@@leojosevicaldoo7343 in german yes. its not mandatory in english.
i realize Im kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream new tv shows online?
The German commander:
"You see, Soviet tankers have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own tanks at them until they ran out of ammo and drove away. Show them the medal I won."
Wasn't it the other way around in WW2? ^^
@@BlueManaBanana Not in 1941 lol, German armor was hot garbage before 1942 when they finally figured out how to make a functional heavy tank. Although functional might be a stretch because transmission died.
I see you are familiar with a little something called Brannigan's law!
@@Yahyahaas My favorite law.
@@BlueManaBanana Bit of a long (and somewhat unstructured) response from my part but I just wanted to give all the info needed.
Whilst Soviet forces due to a lack of coordination between units and an ammunition shortage sometimes found themselves in unenviable positions, ascribing suicidal or sadistic tendencies to the leadership of the armed forces wouldn't be justifiable factually, nor would it be logical for them to use employ their armed forces in such a manner. (That being said, red army soldiers did show a degree of self-sacrifice that I don't think I've encountered anywhere else, professional soldiers even more so.)
One has to keep in mind that the Soviet Union was involved in a life and death struggle and defeat would have meant the deaths of tens of millions more, so winning time was essential and at time required large sacrifices of men and materiel. (There were of course tactical mistakes from time to time as well, though considering the Soviet forces were initially outnumbered, lacking supplies and that commanders at times lacked recent information, their situation was extremely difficult) (and quite chaotic)
As the western public did not have particularly wide access to Soviet books or memoirs on the war, the narrative of the eastern front came to be dominated by German sources, especially the memoirs of German generals in the U.S.
The US actually had a program to incite former german officials to write reports and books about the war. (They were, of course, very curious about the capabilities of the red army and the German experience of fighting it)
The generals in their place had all the incentive to make to Soviets look as bad as possible (this being the cold war), and to make themselves look as good as possible (which, by the way, is the main reason officials and politicians write memoirs ;) ).
Another factor is that in Nazi Germany, the peoples of the USSR (except of course for the small ethnic German population) were considered to be subhuman, and whilst Nazism became fairly unfashionable after 1945, perceptions about the inferiority, superiority and existence of races persisted (and had existed before the rise of Nazism as well). And by demonising the USSR as much as possible they were making themselves look better too, considering they fought an extremely brutal war against the country...
A wonder that his Loader can fit his muscular body into the tank, that guy just loaded 76mm shells non-stop for 8 minutes straight.
Adrenaline...you get excited when people are trying to kill you.
@@mikhailiagacesa3406 the Loader's unconcise !!!
If you watch a video of the inside of WWII Soviet tanks there was no mercy for loaders. Soviet tanks did not have turret baskets so if he didn't have his feet in the right place when the turret traversed he would lose them. It was possibly one of the worst jobs in the tank corps. Soviet tanks took no provision for comfort inside them at that time and the loader had it by far the worst.
New series!! Perfect way to start off the year.
For sure!! It should be a fun one!
Another lovely episode! Thank you, Wolf. By the way, in the names of the towns Gzhatsk and Mozhaisk the "zh" stands for the letter "ж" and is pronounced like in words pleasure or leisure. Anyway, love watching these, keep up the great work.
I knew I was probably pronouncing them incorrectly. Unfortunately I do it in the next video as well.
@@Wolfpack345 Oh it's fine, wouldn't be a Wolfpack video without some mispronounced Russian names!
Here you're probably going to need these to protect your eyes from the glare of all those burning enemy vehicles: 🕶️
Those helped a lot!
Watching this off my cell phone in 720p, sometimes I dont see what you're shooting at most of the time. Just the great soviet pixel hunt
Whenever Wolfpack detects the enemy, I would look arlind like searching for Waldo in the wilderness after getting fresh information from an intense, advanced interrogation of some weird dude dressed up as a wizard.
That opening is amazing
Haha I am glad you liked it!
Wholesome Defenders of Moscow march!
I always enjoy how you set the mood for each mission with your opening narration. Looking forward to this series.
Glad you enjoy it!
I’m being honest I’ve been getting bored with CZcams but stumbled across your channel the other day. I had to sub, the editing is great, third person, first person. Showing the hits on enemy armor etc... most you tubers don’t show anything but their first person gameplay. Just keep it up, know that you stand out in this department. Glad CZcams recommendations worked for once lol
Haha happy to hear you like the content! Welcome to the channel!
I certainly agree.
Iron zombie took the words out of my brain. Great content & editing.
Really enjoying these tank videos bud. Keep em coming!
Glad you like them! More on the way!
I haven't been able to get enough of your multiplayer content, so I know that I'm going to love this new series!
Outstanding sister series to your IL-2: Battle of Moscow campaign! I'm really enjoying this Red Army content - refreshing!
I am glad you like it. I know playing as the Soviets is not extremely popular but I am fascinated with the Soviet experience during WW2.
@@Wolfpack345 Much respect for delving into what interests you and not just what's popular. Keep up the great storytelling aspect too, that really humanizes things.
Very much enjoying these Tank Crew videos! 👍
There are more to come!
happy to have another tank crew campaign! nice job!
Thanks Tom!
I love it when you make a new series. keep up the good work!
Glad you like it!!
you deserve way more subs my friend!!!
@Wolfpack345. I'm wondering if I'm banished, but anyway thank you, I adore the moment a new video comes out. We have the same taste in games. Your bar none my favorite and the most well thought together narratives. Genious!
You are not banished! It is just hard to respond to every comment haha. Thanks for watching!
#IL-2 Excellent mission. Thanks for the great content as always!
Nice start to the series :D
A very welcome change from the "drive forwards - get smashed by Tigers" of the official campaign.
We love all your series!
Thank you!
Awesome! Can’t wait to see more of this!
More on the way! Glad you enjoyed it.
Love your channel !!!
Glad you enjoy it!
~6 more days 'till the mud arrives. Hang on! I'll join you when my KV gets new sights...
Good video. It kind of shows you what the reality of WW2 on the Eastern Front was like. I was trying to picture pitched infantry battles mixed in and artillery barrages going off all round as well as Stukas and Sturmoviks hammering at the armour as well and that was one mission!! This happened day to day for 4 years!!
Haha just wait. This campaign gets pretty intense.
Good looking mission throwing in STUGs as well.
8:50 send me the hardware & I'll make it my life purpose to ambush Wolfpack during his livestreams, heroes need villains, we all like Wolfpack, almost no one likes me- give me a chance to toss a white phosphorus grenade into his tank
Hurrah, Hurrah, comrade wolfpack!!😊
I never tought i would enjoy tabos as much. Wolfpack is the only youtube who does campaigns in a way of telling the story in game and not in the menu reading it.
I am glad you enjoy it!
Oh boy, a new IL-2 Tank Series by Wolfpack! It's a community made campaign, fantastic. Great to see the enthusiasm for IL-2 Tanks, excited for the new series!
There is a Ferdinand campaign out there as well. I may try that one out after this series haha.
@@Wolfpack345 does the Ferdinand spontaneously catch fire when you try to take it over any sort of mild hump or hill in the terrain? ;)
I kid, that would be a really good one. You've had the charge to Moscow from both sides leading to stalemate and a tactical defeat for the Germans. Following that up with the German fighting retreat from the Eastern front would be a good idea I reckon. That's just me though.
i love the t34_1942 its just so beautiful
Great start to a series to look forward to!
Someone should tell the Germans that you need to have the numbers the Soviets had to use the "charge forward or else" tactic
Somehow went incognito mode in that fight. Maybe they thought you were a large metal bush.
Just wait...
For the motherland! May every challenge you overcome yeild another victory for the motherland.
I'm sure that I would remember a lot more history today if *you* had been the one teaching it to me at school all those years ago! 👨🏫
Haha thanks! I am no historian though :P
Looking foeward to the rest
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am really enjoying your work whether it's the tank stuff or submarines. I quite fancied buying the tank game. The base Stalingrad game was a reasonable price at £6 in the Steam sale. The tank add on not so much at £65 (UK). It's going to have to wait until the price drops somewhat. My mate isn't going to fork out that much so we can do multiplayer. Until it does I shall continue to watch with great interest. Thanks.
Damn that was fun ! Like fish in a barrel
Off topic but regarding multiplayer, I HIGHLY recommend the server "Advance and Secure"
It's the most fun I've ever had in a tank, in any game ever. It's intense! My friend was immediately convinced to purchase Tank Crew after playing that server for 20 minutes using the free tanks.
It is indeed a pretty awesome server!
1st class as always! Keep it lit, sir! :) I've been watching catch-ups of your fun in IL-2 w/TortugaPower from a year ago. Oh boy, were they a blast!! Does he still play? You guys should do more of them, they were a great watch! o7
We were thinking of doing some more IL-2 sometime soon :)
@@Wolfpack345 That would be amazin! :)
Intense action. Becareful.
Man that was a butt-kicking!
For sure! It went suprisingly well. Something tells me the next mission will not go as well 😉
The march of the defenders of Moscow is playing.
I applaud and envy this play though. Good on you -- WP.
Thank you!
Eleven kills is nothing to sneeze at!! Was kinda hoping a Bf 110 would swoop down so you could shoot it with your main gun, like that PE 2.
Watching a video with only 12 views quite surreal.
Takes me back haha
Any advice on how to get better at shooting down other planes? And what plane would you recommend using first? I've got basics down so far just haven't shot anyone down yet. Except a parked plane but I don't think I can count that.
Hi Wolfpack, Great stuff! I'm wondering about your gaming rig. What equipment are you using. Cheers Mate.
I love so much your tank series. I am so delighted that you have start a new one. BTW can a player get off the tank and control an antitank gun?
No, but that would be amazing! Especially for the guns that are more powerful than what some tanks have.
@@Jbroker404 Thanks for the answer bro
I agree it would be cool!
Wow! 💪🏻
:D
Here comes the cross-over 🤞🏻
Shhhhhh ;)
It's like watching an old Soviet propaganda movie about the defeat of Fascists! Great video. Perhaps most opponent vehicles and equipment destroyed in one single video so far in this channel?
It is possible! I think I may have done more damage in the German campaign though. I can't remember.
can you give me the link to the particular version of "defenders of moscow" you used in the intro?
That was a great start! I am curious if the game allows you to range prior to the beginning of a battle. For example the elm tree is 500 yards away or the bend in the road is 1 km. I mean this was an ambush that you set up yet you had a lot of difficulty ranging to the targets. Just a thought.
I souppose I could have ranged with the MG or something at the start. It certainly would have been helpful. Like you said you would know if you are setting up the ambush.
As a former artillery crewman, I can tell you that on prepared positions there always are at least 3 landmarks to rely on. They are different at the range and not on one straight line to shooter therefore orders can be done in the form: "Enemy, tank, right-ten from the lone tree, closer 200 meters, free fire"
That means that you should open free fire to a tank that ten degrees right from the lone tree (that direction you should have prepared, therefore you can quickly find the of the enemy) and 200 meters closer to the shooter than the tree so you can adjust the distance of the fire
I bought this game and have been trying to learn it every day but still can figure out how to get your commander to pop in and out, and how to properly range my shots.
There is a stations notes tab that should help you get sorted out with all of the key binds. To get your commander to hop out you just need to open the hatch.
There were only 10 of the T-34-57A. All were lost.
Kind of throws me off that there are T-34/76s with the hexagonal turret and Panzer IV Ausf G. in 1941. These were not seen before 1942.
They are using the tanks that are available in TC.
New campaign new challenges, will the sprit of the Soviet Tankers lead them to prevail?
We shall see good luck
so, now we have two series, one of tanks and one of planes? nice
or that significates what you died on the plane one
OH SHIT
Haha don't worry. Yuri is not dead...yet :P
@@Wolfpack345 what do you mean whit "yet"
HE IS GONNA SURVIVE THE WAR AND FLY FUCKING MIG 15 AND 17
I have a question, what is the meaning behind the german tanks raise the barrel up at 0:29?
Sorry about the somewhat stupid question.
WW2 tanks had barrel locks that kept the barrel from swinging around during transit, otherwise it could damage itself since they didnt have stabilizers.
@@MrGallowglase I see, thank you for answering my question!
when firing at a moving vehicle. remember to shoot where they will be not where they are, that's literally my only critique, great video!
I'm sensing a theme with concurrent campaigns in the Soviet Union.
I prefer to fly/drive things that are rather unique. The Russians have a lot of unique equipment. There are a limited amount of community made campaigns for Tank Crew and I personally found this one to be very interesting. I also wanted the tie in with my BOM campaign in the air.
Still don't understand if it's a game set in the battles of Moscow why wasn't the the T34/57 added first then the 76 ?
Because the Tank Crew module is set during Kursk. This guy made the campaign set around Moscow and used what was available from Tank Crew.
@@Wolfpack345 ohhhhhh my bad and I'm sure there's a model of the 57mm he could add in that somone did as a mod for one of the earlya games ?
I picked up Tank Crew after watching your videos. I used to love War Thunder, but I know that is so much more arcade in control style. Unfortunately I'm really struggling with the controls in Tank Crew. You control the tank so smoothly. Could you do a short video talking through some of the footage? Describe you hotkeys, how you look around in each position, zoom, etc. I think it's mostly view and awareness controls I am really struggling with. There are some other unintuitve things like the ctl+` keys to put away binoculars. I'll learn ranging with time.
Sorry for the long comment. I really enjoy your videos and wanted to participate in the fun, but the barrier to entry is a bit steep and opaque.
he probably uses head tracking to look around like in planes
@@ZauTa I was trying to figure out if he was using TrackIR. The camera seems very stable, so I thought maybe it was a hotkey or other control. Either way, there is a lot to learn about smoothly commanding a tank and no CZcams videos that are clear, or newer than 2 years.
Personally I use TrackIR, and while I don't have any specific advice, I noticed myself get much better simply with experience; mainly on the MP server "Advance and Secure"
Even if you're not a multiplayer person, just get on the server when no one else is on; the AI is one of the main things that makes the server so awesome.
It really does take time to get used to the controls. Like you said they are not the most intuitive however there are "station notes" which are helpful. For zooming and looking around I do use Track IR.
How do I get in this game?
The bravest Russian tank commander ever! You defend great motherland. You fight for party. You fight for the people. You are RUSSIA!
We salute you! We honor you wolfpack!
*Soviet. Not russian, because this was war betw. numerous nations and reigh's terror. For example, volokolomsk highway's battalion's commmamder was kazakh Baurzhan Momushuly who was hero of USSR, also inspirer and idol of Phidel Castro and Che Guevara.
the t34 youre using is the model of 1942
Nope. It's a T-34-76 1943 UTZ.
@@Wolfpack345 utz? dint was that the model of 1941 but whit more armor on the front?
I'd recommend not bringing so much HE ammo! And use your HE ammo on the half tracks; don't waste your APHE on them.
I wonder that no German tank scored any hit.
They did. Quite a few of the T-34s were disabled. I showed one of them at the end.
@@Wolfpack345 Thx, didn´t saw it.
I wan tto try this out, but holy fuck, 80$ for some DLC...
It's not really a DLC. It is essentially its own game.
Do the enemy tanks even shoot back? I don't think I saw a single shot from the Germans, other than from the MG crews. Pretty dissapointing.
Yes they were shooting back. Multiple tanks and AT guns were destroyed.
Tower Defense game play 😂
who tf disliked this must of been a missclick..
Haha. There are always a few :P
