nicely done. I could listen to you talk all day. Cheers from Buffalo.... subscribed.
Awesome unit. I have been using the minibrew mash tun for 15 years or more. Still going strong!
Thanks for this video, i am thinking about getting the 13.5 gal one to do 10 gal batches.
Great video mate. Friend of mine had some 50lt version of these in New Zealand and said they were fantastic. Only problem is when you scratch them and becoming a places for bugs to hide so that's the only buyer beware caution.
Great video! I look forward to seeing you put in through its paces!
Gonna brew something nice this weekend to fill it! Stay tuned!
i guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account?
I was dumb lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Yosef Brecken instablaster ;)
I would like to ferment mead in this. Can a lees collector be added to it? I am worried about the Lee’s clogging the valves.
This product looks really great - i am debating between this product and the Catalyst, both of which seem so much better built than the other competitors. a concern on this product, though: those valves seem to have a lot of parts - do they need to be disassembled after each brew to clean, then retaped up with teflon each time they are reconnected? You mentioned something about an auto cleaning system that can be hooked up to it? what is that system?
Yes there are a lot of parts to each valve there aren’t many points with exposed threads. After my first run I did a long soak with One Step cleaner and sanitizer and ran a brush through valve assembly only (no plastic is touched with the brush). That seemed to work well for me. I haven’t gotten all the parts for my CIP experiment. Once I do I will make a video of it but I’m building myself.
@@fantasticfermentations5637 do they recommend using Teflon to rethread?
They don’t include it in the box but it is recommended.
sorry, one last question - how has your experience been with the dump valve not having a trub collector? easy to cut it off before cleared product starts pouring out?
I added a Tri clamp fitting to the bottom and attached a piece of vinyl tubing to it. It keeps the yeast plug intact so as soon as I see clear beer in the tube I shut it off. Without the tube it just shoots out like crazy, but that’s true with any dump valve.
Great review! Iv seen these units out for years, I heard someone purchased the company awhile back and made some major improvements✅looks that way for sure! Thanks for the review! Will “ABS” have these in store? Cheers brew on!
Don’t think ABS will be getting these. If that changes I will let you know.
@@fantasticfermentations5637 I finally ordered 2 units from Jeremy! Can’t wait to get them in.
It has the same problem as the Fast Ferment Conicals (which I sold because of constant clogging). The drain valve at the bottom is way too small and the side valve in the conical will be covered with yeast and trub. It is also too small and will colgg. Anxious to see how you deal with the yeast and trub. It is also highly overpriced compared to Fermzilla.
I’ve put two beers through it so far and not a single issue with clogging. I try and get really clean wort into the fermenter before pitching, that may be what’s helping me out. I do a good whirlpool and then drain through a bouncer filter after the proteins settle in the kettle. Crossing my fingers that it keeps working the way it has been.
So I know that at breweries they will let the bottom of the yeast fall to drain. But keep a portion of the live yeast for later brews. Is that viable with your size of production?
I guess the yeast would matter only if you were brewing a similar/same beer.
Excellent video bud, good presentation and quality content, ive not seen these FVs in the UK, what do you think will be the max amount of wort you can comfortably get in there with enough headspace? i ask as i do 23 litre batches but always sem to get 23.5 - 24 litres in the FV, i brew with a Brewtools B40pro.
I use stainless FVs, i've got a 7 gallon SS Brewtech and a 30L BREWDEVIL SS CONICAL FERMENTER link = www.angelhomebrew.co.uk/en/brewdevil-ss-conical/391-1461-30l-brewdevil-ss-conical-fermenter.html#/83-cooling_option-none however neither have a 60 deg cone like your FV there, keep the good work up...subbed
Thanks for the sub! I will find out on Saturday just how much I can put in there. I usually get 5.5 Gallons (20L) of wort in my FVs and I’m gonna shoot for that on the initial run. Minibrew does make an 8 gallon (30L) model for $250 USD so that may work better for you.
@@fantasticfermentations5637 I prefer 30 litre [8 gallon] fermentors for my 23 litre batches tbh, i'll do a search for minibrew now...
