REMEMBER TO TURN THESE OFF IN THE TUNE AS WELL!
Does this require a tune??
@@arturoambriz5951 yes
@@Zander13Productions Hi, and what tune can I do ? Where can I find it ?
@@MrFUZ20 Lund racing
I always learn something on this channel..keep up good work. Gonna be following this turbo build
The past week of videos have been very entertaining, and informative. I love it! I don't have the time to watch them as soon as you post them, but I'm keeping up with you. Good Job!
Thanks for the support. Definitely lots of work to be done still.
Hell ya Bro! Great video and keep rippin'! Very detailed and informative! Thanks for your service to this beautiful country!
My imrcs connectors were lose and was creating knock I didn’t install it myself so I had to look deep into it . Zip tied them . Now my tune is on point .
I’m going to watch yours and another video that talks about what need to be blocked on a 2017……thank you for this
It made me happy to hear you say oil pump gears are part of this build and teardown! So necessary, and so many people scrimp on that and its an item that will eventually come back and bite a lot of people when they snap into several pieces at 7600 rpms! Nice job man!
Mustang Man yeah I did mine with the 18 manifold not cheap . I did everything within a week palm beach dyno tune with ngauge. ported 18 manifold 18 oem intake oil pump gears and sprocket everything together was about 3 grand I’m including labor . But I rather have 3 k reliable than shattered opg .
Don't need them on 18+. No OPG failures yet. I know this is a couple years old and folks didn't know yet.
You clearly don’t make power 😂😂😂
Nice video Zander cant wait for the next !!!!
Really like/depend on your videos. You’ve helped me with my build.
Glad I can help
Man I have just completed a 1000 piece jigsaw which cost $5 and I am happy, now I see you doing this, and you say simple FULL RESPECT !!!!
Thanks so much. Working on OPGs right now 🔥
Your heading for 8s and I just want the jlt and tune to get 11s haha. Cant wait to see this thing rip🔥
You could get a head mount for your gopro, may help making videoing easier
Thanks for this info! I still haven't had time to swap out my intake to the ported one! A side effect from being a small business owner! 🤣 However, this weekend it's happening! 🙌
😎🙏
My imcr just went out the 1st one so closest to the driver side if i take em off and keep em on open how is the idle for you ? Im NA not boosted you think itd be different?
If you turn them off what does the car gain? Thanks
Can I do this on a 2017 F-150 with the Coyote Engine?
Zander getting it done 💪
I thought the new design didnt impead flow like the old charge motion on the 3 valves
Hi, I wonder if the car will start up after deleting IMRC, or if it throws errors which causes the car to shut off. If it runs- great, I could take it to the tuner. What if not? Oh, and what is the cost for a tune anyway?
Perfect....thanks man !!!!
Sir you are a damn genius! 😂
Honestly though, with full bolt ons does the ‘18 manifold really make the difference in power to purchase? If so, I will do the swap with 47 lb injectors. Might as well right? 🎉
Will you need to re tune the car?
Amazing video
GREAT VIDEO. AND VERY INFORMATIVE. AND I GOT LOST. LATER. GOD BLESS😎🙏🇺🇸
I love you videos 63 yr old just purchased 2019 Mustang GT PP1. Problem when i use track app 1/4 mile best time 13.2 no burn out or line lock. Will time improve with tire burn?
No, you do not want to do a burn out on a street tires. If anything a quick spin to clean off rocks.
How long does the zip tie last
Nice idea, but I wouldn't rely on zip ties . If they brake , the runners close and the turbo will destroy them.
Too much risk.
why not get the IMRC Pigtails ????
killer info 👍
I'm glad you know what you're doing. I'm already lost lol
nunzio rose he’s just deleting the imrc only guys that are going boost and that do 18 manifold swaps know about this lol pretty much deleting some sensors in the manifold there flaps . To take of the cel you need to update your tune .
This not only helps with 2018+ GTs.
But for people doing the 18 manifold on any 5.0
I made the mistake of doing a PnP harness and had nothing but issues (On my 2017 GT) Went to a local tuner and had him tune my car. Went ahead and paid him to lock them out. After about 2 weeks of chasing mechanical issues. The IMRCs were the trouble.
Better to just delete them 💪
Hi guys. I did a 2018 manifold swap on my 2016. I’m having major troubles with P2007 and P2006. For the IMRCs being stuck closed. Rather than chasing this issue should I just delete them and get VMP to revise my tune?
Any info would be great.
Good job
Lovin’ it so far...
🙏💪💪💪
Thumbs up for educational AND entertaining! Although I think you’re getting dangerously close to voiding your warranty… 😂🤣😉
Oh my warranty is way gone lol
@Zander13 picks up a socket wrench, slices his hand for the umteenth time and scrawls in blood and motor oil, “Mustang warranties are meant to be broken!”
You can bet FORD knows who he is, and is just as interested as we are!
@@Zander13Productions Your doing a Good Job Alex! How else can you, and FORD, be First On Race Day? R+D
You need a headband or chest rig for your camera for the POV shots so you don’t have to do shit one handed
Thanks for the video but zip ties? Most likely they will let go at some point due to the heat. Then will all be screatching our heads whats wrong.
Well then use some wire if it'll help ya sleep better at night.
Great video, love free mods. Haha
Wish you would have explained what the IMRC is, does and why you're doing that (what's the point to that mod).
The IMRC valves or damper changes the intake manifold air flow from long to short and back to long depending on throttle position and rpm. Long runners provide cold starting and low rpm drivability.Short runners make high rpm power.
@@GeneralEOD Is this why itsjusta6's car is hard to start on e85?
That is a question for Itsjusta6.
@@a.wheeler7731 e85 is hard to start regardless due to the moisture it builds up
@@GeneralEOD
The IMRC on the Coyote doesn't effect runner length, it's just a valve, somewhat similar to a throttle valve, that partially restricts each intake runner in order to change the air charge characteristics which improves low rpm torque and drivability. You can think of them sort of like giving each cylinder it's own variable venturi (as with a carburetor) in order to speed up and change the air's tumble as it enters the cylinder.
There are some engines that do use two sets of different length intake runners with a valve(s) that controls airflow but that's a little different then a charge motion control.
My friend. I need your help . My 2014 gt is acting up. Fuel trims either high or low. P0420 , P0430. Air ratio runs at 20 when decelerating. I've change all oxygen sensor. Twice. Changed spark plugs, changed coils. Ect. Car still acting up. It is stock .I feel like I have some kind of evap leak. I was behind my intake. And I notice a line unplugged. Where you pointed to @ Mark 6.35 little nipple sticker out the back of intake. There is a line behind just sitting there. Not plugged in. That little nipple is wide open. Is there supposed to be something plugged into that nipple? I get no misfire codes . But if I run power balance on scanner. I can see misfires, if you can help me out. I appreciate you. I am also thinking my imcr are broken 😢? I am hearing a little tick from I take area
If car is stock then no hoses should be unplugged. With car running. See if you have suction at the nipple. If it is then you have a leak
@@Zander13Productions great. I will check when I get off work. Thank you for your help
Why wouldn't you use some sort of fender cover when you are actually working on the car?
I am wearing basketball shorts and soft shirts when doing this. I’m also not working over the fenders with parts but if I do I am careful. But you are right. If I had some I would use them
Sometimes you will damage the paint with tools or engine parts that drop 🤫
What I understand is by locking the plates you lose a ton of low speed drivability. Sure its great for the track, but bad for street driving. It doesnt make alot of sense. Of course, if its just track and by that I mean drag race track...carry on young man
I'm sure he's learning as he goes. Still, with all the bad luck he's had with his car so far, I applaud his perseverance. He's got me watching.
@@whitehorse1 also tie wraps for the lockouts?? Really? Hes spending what 10-12 grand with turboes and all? More money than sense. Tie wraps aren't problem free. What happens if one goes and the other doesn't. ???
Why remove something that is helpful for the power band?
Not good with turbo boost !
Dude you know a lot about cars
Thanks. I try to learn something new every day though
Nice 👍🏻
Will it hurt to delete these on a n/a 2018 mustang gt ?
You'll lose power and torque down low. This is for boosted applications.
I was told by a few people now i need to lock out my IMRC on my '18 GT because it is boosted (vortech V3 JT). Every time i ask why, its the same answer "you just supposed to do it. you changing the opg anyways, so do it". That doesnt answer my question....why do i need to lock these out with my vortech?
Hey man, I know this post/vid is 3yrs old but were you ever able to find an answer to your question as to why deleting your IMRC is necessary?
@@Viper3870750 nope. They were locked since I was there but never found out why. Never cared to find out after getting the same answer all the time back then lol. Moved on with life and kept modifying the car lol
How do you delete the IMRC from the computer
With a tune
Will leaving the IMRC unplugged and driving like that cause a check engine?
yes. must be turned off in tune
@@Zander13Productions dumb question but to turn it off, does it have to be done by the tuner? or can I do that myself. Im running a Lund tune.
What does imrc stand for?
Intake manifold runner controller
Literally blood sweat and tears GYSOT
💪💪💪
Lieb Schriever, why did you show up in my feed??? I have no idea what an IMRC is, i just want my convertible 5.0 to be a bullit. Which means, GT 350 intake manifold, and bigger throttle body, "cold" air intake and tune. 😂
What’s the benefit of doing that
They are always open. Most supercharger or turbocharged mustangs do this
The IMRCs become a restriction with boost. They often break in boosted applications.
Imrc failed in my 2018 gt350. Threw 4 codes including misfire. Runs like sht now. Not worried too much it isnt my daily. Should i swap the manifold or do this? The manifold is half the cost of a shop fixing it.
First 1/4 mile run 9.92 ?
Time will tell 💪
You’re going to make me eventually trade for an 18/19 GT
I love mine!
@@whitehorse1 Same. I haven't even hit it's max.
Ok let’s see you lost me yesterday at removing the hood. I played it back twice so I think I might have it now. It was so much easier working on cars 50 years ago.
I just took good off bc new one is here and going on the car soon.
Were you a mechanic in the military my fine man?
I was not. I’m self taught actually
Sweet
@@Zander13Productions Never underestimate a shade tree mechanic.
🔥🔥💪💪🔥🔥💪💪
Are Mustang GT any good
You can just turn them off in the tune 😂 also free
You still have the physical close them ...
KINGKJ2REAL negative
David Van Voris well with 2015-17 cars that you put the 18 manifold on you do ...
KINGKJ2REAL but this is an 18/19 so what’s your point
@@KINGKJ2REAL on a stock 15 gt that's cutting off and hesitating: if I bought a tuner (lund sct etc) and turn imrc off I wouldn't need to physically delete it? I would prefer not to buy an 18+ manifold if not absolutely necessary.
Thumbs ups because you had birds chirping in the background.
The birds we’re flying all around my tree outside 💪 lol. Kinda peaceful
@@Zander13Productions yes the calm before the BOOST!
What’s in the box!?....god, what’s in the boooox! ::goes into se7en breakdown::
20 dollar legit lock outs on your 35k+ car ...
Nahh I’m going to use zip ties
Wonder how long that plastic is going to hold
Agreed with the new heat from the turbos and just the amount of heat cycles.
@@otto7707 Those are bottom mounted turbos. No heat.
2 Years later he had no issues with them.
Folks use to say the same thing about plastic intakes, yet here we are.
If your that worried about it,simply use wire...your welcome
Or you could spend the 60 bucks for lockouts... If your spending the money on a turbo kit you spend money on actual lockouts.
I could but I’m going to try this first. If it works, it works
@@Zander13Productions pple look to you for advice an information man.. Jus hate to see pple cut corners no matter how small on good builds. Jus remember plastic does break down over time an you will forget about it when you gapping fools 😁
christopher barfield I understand your thoughts and agree. This was recommended to me but the large companies I am involved with. I may still do it the right way but the effect will be the same. This is just a way for people to eat their options. That’s why I did say in video that there are kits to make this work but this is a free mod. Kinda like taking a clutch spring out instead of buying a 20ibs spring for clutch feel. Similar results. I would certainly buy a $20 spring though. But again, this just a fun video

Well that was so easy a caveman could do it hahaha, for those who might not know next time explain the reason for removing the sensor.
