I love Monty Python. "Mister St John of Huntingdon said he couldn't think of anything more derogatory than "BELGIANS" is one of the funniest lines. Even thinking about it makes me laugh. Michael Palin with his awesome delivery, timing, face expressions, etc
It was most derogatory term and lost it's position early 2022. Now it's silver medalist way below current champion.
It's not mocking anything to do with social class. It's just making fun of people who are prejudice. Nothing less, nothing more.
Belgian Waffles!
Brilliant. I've worked out the best way to insult a Frenchman, ask him if he's Belgian.
Carol Cleveland . . . .
Just Wow!
I'm only here for Carol Cleveland's legs.
I'm a gay Belgian and I find this very funny.
Yes, it is lovely how they mock vile homophobes and racists.
*bang*
@@cloud5busterit's lovely how this show mocks vile homophobes, homophobes are dumb and the lowest form of life. Gays are great, indeed a sixth of the actors on python were gay, which is like python like gays, and hate homophobes. Gays are great.
@@lsmith6036 You can tell how ridiculous h*mosexuals and their fanbois are by the idea that they think liking c*ck is something to brag about.
How i felt after the US lost their world cup match
'Mrs. No-Supper-for-You'. Brilliant.
Fantastic
I don't even care, I just want a woman like Carol.
Don't we all.
She will certainly disappoint you.
Sorry, going through a divorce
Pretty modest desire on your part. I want a thousand.
You & everyone else on the block, Sailor. 💘
I wonder if this is where Douglas Adams got the idea about "Belgium", or vice versa.
A truly different show of the time! That it was broadcast in the US at its early stages!
Every comedy mocks racists like this
I take it the 'Gippos' are from Egypt?
This is one of their best.
Love it.
It is mocking racists not Belgians
Gippo = gypsy (a derogative term in itself).
It does derive from the misunderstanding that the Romani originally came from Egypt.
@@somedutchguy7582 thank you!
I just went down the research rabbit hole getting the details on this. Had no idea.
I am from Australia and I remember English foreign relations being generally taught as England fighting with the French or England not fighting with the French, until last century of course.
@@em945 is your name Bruce, then? 😉
@@somedutchguy7582 of course. We all answer to Bruce...and wrestle crocs.
look, it's British Teabaggers!
WARNING!!! THIS IS A JOKE!! STOP BEING S SENSETIVE!
amazing XD
greetings from belgium
Ca va!
I actually quite enjoy this sketch.
Today's politically correct world would have shunned this. Thank you Monty Python for not being afraid to speak your mind and have a little fun.
The only way they could get away with it was if that talking cartoon turd from South Park said it.
Todays world would have welcomed it with open arms. Back then, it would have been hated for being too left-wing.
Jose Sandoval Tumblr would love this.
Jose Sandoval Tumblr would probably be the largest fanbase of this sketch.
They are not speaking their mind at all.
I'm sure they don't think this way about the Belgians. It's just for entertainment purposes
It's hilarious that Belgium writes the UK's laws now.
made me laugh. thanks.
let's not call them anything - let's just ignore them' -
lol
best advice ever
When I see a sketch like this on CZcams, I make a rough count of how long it will take to find someone saying that they "wouldn't make this these days, too PC". Not only is that a big steaming pile of horseshit, it's also boringly trite, specious nonsense.
That's half the commentary. People who didn't get the joke, but get a kick out of shooting poofs.
@@andrewmcintosh2703 You have a problem with shooting poofs? Please try to overcome your prejudices.
