MJ at the age of 35 in 1998:
    - All-Star
    - All-Star Game MVP
    - Scoring champion
    - All-NBA First Team
    - All-Defensive First Team
    - Regular season MVP
    - Finals MVP
    - Champion
Anyone back then wasn't even surprised at all that. It was just MJ, probably not even at his best...

What's beautiful about his game is not just his highlight dunks and layups but how fundamentally sound his regular moves were. His jab step, pump fake, pull-up jumpshot, all of them everyone can do, yet he utilizes them to perfection. He didn't need the fancy dribbles and cross overs and relied on high percentage, low-risk moves. He is as Bruce Lee said, "I fear not the man who practiced 10,000 kicks, I fear the man who practiced 1 kick 10,000 times."

Iconic call, because prior to Jordan making that play, Costas had just pointing up that sometime even Superman gets tired....referring to Jordan decreased shooting percentage in the Finals and not getting help from teammates with scoring...then on cue, as if he heard Costas say something negative about his game, he made two hard dribbles, stopped on a dime, and delivered. Costas further elaborated that "whatever he has lost, due to age, due to fatigue, due to whatever, has only brought him closer to the field....he still leads the field"

    • @rollandcurtis874
      @rollandcurtis874 Před 3 lety

Aloop Actually it was impossible for Kobe to match MJ’s finesse. He came from a low-profile high school straight to the NBA and lacked a lot of MJ’s Dean Smith-UNC taught fundamentals. This is why Bryant’s shots were off-balances and more difficult. He also could not control his body on the ground and especially in the air like MJ because of his fundamentals were wanting.

Goes 1-9 in the 2nd half vs Pistons in Game 7 of the 2006 ECSF.
      - Saved by Bobbie Gibson in Game 7 of the 2007 ECF against the Pistons without Ben Wallace. LeFraud went 3-11 the whole game while Boobie Gibson scored 19 points to close out the series.
      - Put up 22 PPG on 34% in the 2007 finals to get swept after each game was decided by single digits.
      - Goes 8-20 FG in Game 6 of the 2009 ECF against Orlando; Outplayed by Delonte West and Hedo Turkoglu.
      - In the 2010 ECSF, LeFraud loses three straight to the Celtics after being up 2-1. He averaged 21 PPG on 34% FG with 6.3 turnovers a game during that losing stretch to run to D Wade in Miami.
      - Before joining Wade in Miami, LeFraud was 0-4 in a playoff series against teams who had an All-NBA player that year (Wallace/Billups 2006, Duncan 2007, KG 2008, Dwight 2009)
      - Promised Miami 8 rings only to get outscored by Jason Terry in the 2011 Finals while playing more minutes, not to mention he scored 8 points in a Finals game.
      - Taken to 7 Games by Ray Allen, KG, and Paul Pierce in their mid 30s in the 2012 ECF despite having the better overrall superteam.
      - Outscored by Wade in the 4th quarters of the 2012 Finals (Only series he dominated against legit competition was due to Wade closing out the games).
      - Taken to 7 games by 22 year old Paul George and Roy Hibbert in the 2013 ECF despite having a superteam.
      - Outscored by Danny Green in the first three games of the 2013 Finals; Saved by Ray Allen in Game 6.
      - Suffered the biggest series blowout in NBA Finals history in the 2014 Finals, padded his stats when the Spurs were up 15 for Games 1, 3-5 of the Series by scoring 51/141 of his points in blowout situations.
      - LeFraud goes scoreless in OT in Game 1 of the 2015 Finals, outplayed by Mozgov in Game 4 with a chance to go up 3-1 at HOME, and recorded 118 misses (most since 1967) during the series. Averaged 36 PPG on an inefficient 35% shooting.
      - LeFraud suspeneds Draymond in Game 5 on a brink of elimination, he goes for 41 points in that game and 41 points in Game 6 (Despite Draymond was avoiding another tech to get suspended). In Game 7 where Draymond can go all out on defending LeFraud, he goes 9-24 and 0-4 in the final four minutes of the 4th quarter until Kyrie saves his legacy.
      - LeFraud dissapears in the 2nd half of the 2017 Finals and was outplayed by KD in the 4th quarters of that series.
      - LeFraud’s “greatest playoff run” consisted of Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Oladipo taking him to 7 games and scoring 0 points in OT against the Warriors in Game 1 after exploding for 51 points.
      - LeFraud activates “playoff mode” in the west only to go 3-12 for the rest of the season and recruit Anthony Davis after missing the playoffs
Jordan scored 50 first game of the season, scored 63 in a playoff game he has 5 60 point games against a good celtics team

He could finish at the rim, go left or right and change direction while keeping the same speed, post up smaller defenders, unstoppable midrange pull-up, baseline fade-away, and shoot 3’s if he wanted too. Complete two way superstar.
In one season he won the MVP, Scoring Title, Defensive Player of the Year, All Star MVP, & Slam Dunk Champ.

Jordan’s game wasn’t even as aesthetic as it once was (it doesn’t mean it was ugly to watch before you lose your mind) if anything you’ll have a lot of people saying this is it? this is the guy everyone’s been hyping? Jordan had a decent load management where he would be removed from games if the bulls were up or down by a lot. At best you know the roster a little bit better at worse this would have people rolling their eyes to see them spread one season into 10 parts and might hurt his case.

By the time he started winning championships he was devoid of fear on the court and it shows in all his plays.

Rodman was not even close to the player he was with the pistons and was about 36. When Jordan took the court it was 2 on 5. Longley, Rodman and Harper were non offensive threats and took for Kerr or Kukoc to come off the bench to help with that. Imagine anyone today even Lebum with that supporting cast and win 3 in a row and probably should have won in 98-99 with a short season due to the lock out. The 8th seeded knicks made the finals that year. He didnt have to pass to make players better his sheer presence did that instead. He made all those guys look 10 X better than what they were.
