This is how you make a HOF speech. Instead of just thanking people, he's telling a story of his career. A lot of people may find it arrogant, but it is definitely genuine.

Speeches like this really give you an insight into who the person is. Jordan was a unique cat. There have been others just as athletically talented. Maybe even more so. Jordan’s entire career is based off of the fact he didn’t get picked on his varsity team and I love it
Not entirely true. His sophomore year, he played JV.
His junior and senior year, he started varsity.
@@GRHSCP it's the fact he wasn't chosen to immediately play varsity over a guy who became a nobody.
Reeal Evans no it’s because his friend who was taller got picked, so he knew he had to grow taller.
Michael's HS coach told him his sophomore year that he wasn't ready yet. That's when the fire and drive to be the very best started. Mike took that cut really personally. He worked his tail off that summer and made the Varsity his Junior year. His brother Larry was the star on the Varsity until Mike made the team.
Lionel Kennedy he didn’t work his tail off the that summer, he actually did things that he thought would make him taller like hanging etc. MJ is a lighting in a bottle as the Jordan’s were short people and yet MJ grew to over 6’6”

I remember being disappointed when I first watched this speech because I thought MJ humiliated a lot of people instead of using that podium to be gracious and thankful to all the people that helped him get to the Hall of Fame like most other players would do. Having shed my childhood adulation of St. Michael since then, however, and knowing more about the man now like how competitive he is with all things, etc. I now find this speech heartwarming, sincere, funny and inspiring. MJ is just as competitive AF and he will eternally be trash talking every single one of those whom he thought have wronged him, all the way to the Hall of Fame and all the way until he leaves this mortal coil. Take no prisoners. Inspirational. What an athlete, what a competitor. Thank you for all the joys you've given us watching you play in real time. Happy 60th Birthday MJ ☺️
