Well its weird to me saying its underrated since Asterix and the Smurf aired in my country dubbed of coursed and release lot of VHS and dvds during the early 2000. Lot of toys and comics too, sure might be as much it was back then but the few releases been quality worth and fun, But i do say i miss the comic art style since it connected me with the comics too.
I possess all the Asterix comics books published so far ... started collecting them in 1978 when I was a medical student.... reading whenever I get time .... my children and grandchildren are all Asterix comics lovers always fond of quoting from the same at appropriate times 😊
Reminds me of an actual scientific study who studied the likelihood of getting a traumatic head injury in an Asterix comic and it’s causes Obviously the group at higher risk were the Romans with injuries caused by assault, most often carried out by the Gauls

Have the full set of books; for at least 30 years. Had a big impact on my satirical sense of humour, which as a British person shows perhaps, despite history, we have a lot in common with the French (well we both share Norman blood). What is sad, is that Asterix is now virtually forgotten, it was pure genius in script and drawing.
The vikings have thir appearance atound 3 or 4 centuries after the fall of the roman empire and the barbarians in the time of the rising vikings were allready nobles and moralized kings its funny how they mixed everything in this episodes 😂
They really should have given Justforkix some of the magic potion before going into the camp, that would have given him the confidence boost as well as the powers to knock out a Roman soldier. But then the story wouldn't progress because it relies on his personality being a natural coward.
Didn't they, though? I mean how else would he have knocked out the soldier with one hit? Then again, Obleix WAS guiding his hand, so that might have been why.

I wish they had kept the 2d style. The 3D films have been fun, but 2D is just so special.
3D is cheaper
at least it is somewhat close to their original designs... unlike some other 3d adaptations. (or **shudder** "real live" adaptations...)

They haven't made all of them, but the first one came in 1967, and the first real live action in 1999
They have made several animated movies over the years
And most of the ones I saw had zero relevance to the actual books they took the title from

I don't have all the books, only the ones they sold in my language, but I do have all the animated and live action movies on DVD!
