LOL! When I was a teenager my Dad drove a 1980 280CE...while out flyfishing, we came back to a herd of cattle literally licking the paint off in patches...it's the road salts they were after.

Yeah fake tips fake vents and interior speaker engine faking on so many cats its getting annoying!
Fake tips are there to stop the soot that builds up from DI engines, fake speaker noise is whack though.

@@sgtmtrush Ah, yes... No frills, few comforts. At least...we had seat belts. Wouldn't do to go flying around inside smacking into things... The C-130s I flew in were made in the 1960s, and they were better maintained than any school I ever rode in, though. Memories...
I agree with you. I love dual clutch transmissions/gearboxes. I like that car also.
I had a first gen GLA 45 AMG and aside from the fairly cheap interior and some rattles, the car was a total hoot to drive. I had the sports seats and exhaust which were well worth it. The handling was fantastic as was the drivetrain minus some of the DSG quirkiness. It's been the best I've owned for driving on twisty roads but a huge measure.
Love this car . Probably the best Merc for the money. The dct is a type of transmission most people don't understand. Excellent review, like always. Thanks Sarah.

Got my CLA 250 new in 2014, base price was only $29,900 back then! Inflation sucks! My sticker price was $47,352, fully loaded.
That coupled with what ever renault is charging Mercedes for that 4cyl engine. And the standard added tech for this model year makes it balance out...yes they're overcharging since it was introduced. But give it one year depreciation and it may be a solid buy.
I like how it shifts out like a C-130 especially when you put the pedal to the floor and it drops down into passing gear really get them propeller spinning

Car wash mode also closes the air intake so you don't spray water in the cabin filter, also turns off sensitive touch things like fuel cap doors etc.....at least it does on other cars.

I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be if you reviewed a Benz on this platform! My mom drives a 2022 A250 4matic hatchback and there’s a severe lack of technical info out there. I agree with your assessment, fun handling, perfect size, and underrated. My mom’s was a dealer demo that was driven by a salesman for 6 months then sat for 6 months, we got it for 2/3rds the price of new, same price that GTI’s were going for at the time.

nice vid. in europe the base model is the CLA 180. this has a 1300 cc renault turbo engine. The 1991cc in the 250 models (incl A class, CLA, GLA ,GLB) is a real mercedes enigine.
3:09 Sarah ends up answering the $61,000 question for us: Is this a 100% German-made car? You find out the Mercedes dampers are made in Slovakia and other parts are sourced from Spain! The only thing German you’re buying here is the brand heritage! 😊
I love how this is the base version in America. Here in the UK (And the rest of Europe), the base model is a 1.3 litre turbo (Yes, a 1.3 litre engine in a 2024 Mercedes) with 134bhp, 148lb ft of torque and 0-60mph in a leisurely 8.7 seconds 🐢
Sachs was making motocross engines(2-stroke 250cc) back in the 1970s....CZ and Peyton used them I think. Been around. ..

I have the CLA 250 e plugin hybrid and I have to say that the car is great all around. However, fortunately I have the 2023 model with real buttons on the steering wheel and the touchpad in the center console.
Why did they remove the touch pad and other options in the 2024 model.

I'd like to see a comparison of a cla250 and c300. The price is only separated by a few thousand, but the c300 is rwd, not fwd. Maybe the cla250 gets better lease deals, but I don't see the value proposition over the c300 like it used to when it started around 33-35k
CLA is a great entry level car for the MB buyer.
You were talking about the GTI; in fact, that car in its base model is directly targeted at the same demographic.
Would say it competes with the GT trim of the VB WRX since it's auto only and around the same price tag.

Best thing in this review of a $61,000, 3800 pound, pushed up marketing of a compact, ugly, front driver for the kids Mercedes, your make up, which looks great and very friendly horses. Gets 25 miles per gallon! Or slightly less than a 25 year old manual Accord. Progress !
My wife has a 2020 VW GTI with the 7-speed DSG, and I know *exactly* what you're talking about -- you can feel it engage and disengage the clutch at low speeds, just like you would if you were operating the pedal yourself. Germans know how to do dual-clutches right. When the Americans do it (I'm looking at YOU, Ford Focus!) they try to emulate that slushbox feeling and they just ruin it. A dual-clutch *should* feel like a manual at low speeds -- because it *is* a manual, at its heart!

Looks like a lot of "in for service " potential with all the gadgets. I'm still looking at the Nissan Versa S manual as King or Queen, depending on perspective.
Owned two Mercedes, broke both (my fault - sometimes feel I could break an anvil). Didn't get the memo on dry sump transmissions , common on dual clutch ? And also nice of you to match outfit and lipstick to the car - classy. Shoes forgiven.

Should check for the ackermann steering issues that cause crabbing and plagues all 4matic benz.

“That is solid” I literally drove over a flying block of concrete on the freeway in my Glk 350. Was sure something was damaged. Had the car on a Lift, nothing damaged.
well for some of us who have flown the C-130 it do make sense 🙂. A number of different versions actually. 41 years in the Royal Danish Air Force and a couple of deployments gives you that.

I don't really hate dual-clutch automatics. I'm just jealous that they can shift faster than I can. I love it that they feel more like a manual..if I wanted a slushbox, I'd buy a 1977 Chevelle. Oh, and a vote for Air Force Girl reviewing a C-130. I'm close to an ARB, I see them all the time. Never been on one, though.

1st person I ever heard who liked riding in a C-130.
