How Jiricek shows up at the draft combine will swing his draft position like crazy. I feel like if he shows up at an athletic 195lbs that has worked relentlessly on what he can while injured then I think the teams around 10 or the early teens that need a RD will be interested. But if he shows up as the 170lbs player he was last seen as, without any indication that he's improved any of his abilities while injured then I think he's barely a 2nd rounder.

My ears definitely perk up when I listen to all your regional scouts talk about their respective leagues of interest. Like beat writers, they've followed the leagues and know them down pat. Ideally, we get to hear a lot more from all of them!

There Is A Lot Of Talented Players In This Draft That A Team Like Calgary Could Do Well At #9 & #28 In The First Round!

How does Lindstrom compare to Slafkovsky and Byfield at the same age? What differences are there between their skillsets?
In a few words and without thinking too much about this (it could be a long article), Lindstrom is faster than Slafkovsky . He's not as much of a rusher/dangler as Byfield was in his draft year. Lindstrom is developing a more subtle playmaking game. He's a comparable prospect in terms of value, but there's now some injury concern for NHL scouts. We also projected Lindstrom based on his rate of improvement and his season was cut short. There's more uncertainty with him than with DY Slafkovsky and Byfield.

@@pagoren1622 Lindstrom is more physical and engaged than Dach at the same age. Not as talented as a playmaker. Cozens... I think the soft skills in Lindstrom's game are better. Cozens played an even harder game. It's been a while though.
i guess i should have watched this before i went all in with the habs drafting parekh . it only made me want them to draft him more .

Great work! What are your takes on Lucas Marrelli?
Mostly, we like the motor and the rush defence and the skating. He's engaged defensively, battles hard, and makes the occasional creative play. He could move up our board next meeting, but we don't have a consistent read on him despite a ton of game reports.

Didn’t had the chance to see him a lot but my few viewings were pretty good. Like you said, good motor, solid defensively, efficient in transition. He’s a good puck moover in the O-zone but not super creative. He’s been voted as the 3rd best OFD in the Eastern conference and the 3rd smartest player. I project him as a good 3rd-4th D in a contender team. Could be a riser imo.
Celebrini feels a lot like a Brayden Point to me - great two-way guy who can centre a top line on a top team and be an elite producer. He isn't competing for the Hart or Ted Lindsay but I bet he is competing for the Conn Smythe any time his team goes deep.
Why can't Catton be a center similar to Cooley ? Both small, dynamic playmakers.
Cooley is a considerably
more dynamic skater
He's my comp for Catton. A lot of similarities. I think he could become a good center but player of his size down the middle are very rare. So odds are he shifts to the wing. There are some concerns about Catton's play down low, too.
I like this show with all the details you provide and the top process behind it. My personal opinion: Depend of his character, Silayev is a top 5. You cant teach that size with his speed. I think being 17 in a man league make it easier too expose his weakness. I am lower on Buium bc I dont think his size and skating translate as good in the NHL but I see a good player still. Connolly is a character issue too... talent wise he is more talented than Catton imo. Keep your good work we gonna find more response with the playoff
No way. Catton is way more talented than Connelly
Edit: after looking more into Connolly, I don’t necessarily think Connolly is more talented but I do think it’s way more close than I originally thought.

You guys should start a (bi-weekly maybe?) podcast, where you have different segments, some where you give updates on the seasons of draft eligible players, and others where you kinda review prospects' NHL debuts, or give updates on already drafted players that are still outside the NHL, and maybe something on college/europe FA's that are worth keeping an eye on, I think it’d be awesome! :-)
We definitely should. We're just not podcast people so getting this started would require some motivation. It will probably happen eventually.

He's in our first round! We didn't discuss him enough to highlight him in this video. Last meeting, we talked about his game.
How can they missed Egor Surin? One of the most talented forwards in this draft in my opinion. And he plays better and better during season.

You guys were supposed to lower Iginla's ranking, not praise him! (I wanted him in Chicago with Tampa's pick lol)
If Hawks land in the top 3, I'd be inclined to try and trade the TB pick in a package for a roster player. Like a good RFA that a team probably can't sign. Elliott Friedman has said numerous times that Carolina may have a hard time keeping Martin Necas. He'd be a great add and has had success under a coach that is similar to Richardson in Brindamour.

Very likely. He has an amazing motor, like Cam said. That may help.
It will fill out, he will be around 190 lbs like his brother (former Hawks prospects) or father are.
I think you’re too low on yakemchuk and Hage.
I think you forgot Jesse Pulkkinnen. And this year Pulkkinen is probably Seth Fryer, 6'7'' RHD, skate like the wind, fast hands, end of june, he likes and can carry the puck coast to coast. Ridiculous 7 points with an average team, bend with the wind but all the tools and technichal are there. Also watch Lynden Lakovic for next year, he will be a top ten pick, maybe top 5, he's big, fast and have better hands, speed and better skills than Lindstrom, at least he's in the same class and one of the most exciting big boy soft hands since many years.
He's at 36 on this board. We just didn't talk about him enough to include the clips in the video. I'm trying to get him back in the first round. I'm also excited about his potential.
Pulkkinen is No. 36!

@@italian1ist Agreed for Pulk, was saying that Fryer wont probably be drafted, but with his toolkit he can explode next year (like Pulk) and a team will be obligated to spend maybe a end of first or a begining of the second round for him. Watch him, he's really good. Also Lakovic is so big and skilled and fast, he's technichal and natural in the same time, he's huge, at DY-1 he's far better than Lindstrom.
Pulkkinen should be a decent Top 6 D in couple years time, Pulkkinen once he started training and playing hockey more seriously he improved massively in only one year, if u give him couple more years of hard training he has potential to make it to the NHL maybe.
They compare Celebrini to Towes but not as tall. Hawks bound hopefully. But Dimetov or Lindstrom would be fine. Don't want to wait 3 years for a D man to develope. Hawks are stuck with Murphy for two more seasons and Jones for 6.
