  • OnAir Company is a career mode add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Prepar3d that I love using. This is the second video in an ongoing series where I show you how to get started in building your virtual airline company. In this video, we'll cover how to hire AI employees and how to find jobs using the Logistics Center.

    When you want to learn Onair, these tutorials will help you further from basics to more complicated.
    Although I use Onair for several weeks, I learned some new features which makes Onair more interesting.

    Your channel is amazing. Thank you.
    Fun fact: I grew up in Arcadia and completed high school there lol.

    Just joined the flight Sim world, having finally got a PC that will run MSFS2020 reasonably ☺. Was looking for a career option and this looks like it will fit the bill. Appreciate the in depth guide and will give the free trial a go after I've watched your series 😁

    Hi Kip, thank you for your videos. I find them ALL very interesting and helpful. I like your informal style and the way in which you explain things.
    I am intrigued by ONAir Company. I learned about it from your videos. Your sim config seems to work much better than mine. Could you please do a video with what equipment you use/recommend and what controls, if any, you use? There are lots of products that don't work and once you buy, you are stuck. Your controls seem to be good - better than mine!
    Anyway, thank you for your videos. They are really very good!

    Kip, you are doing God's work. Keep it up. OnAir is great but their lack of proper documentation or demonstrations is frustrating. Thank you for filling the gap.

    If your range is just a few nm short of what you'd need, you don't necessarily have to take a different job. You could find an alternate that is closer to your destination. I've done that up to the point where my alternate was basically right next to my destination, meaning that I hardly lost any available payload due to fuel reserves. Of course that's not very realistic, cause if you have to divert due to weather and your alternate is very close, chances are the weather wont be any different there, but for the purpose of maxing the amount of cargo I can haul, it works just fine.

    Is possible to see my AI pilots traffic when ingame?

    How do you transport pilots? I cant do jobs because On Air says I am not at an airport

    It's more than pretty good. Its very well done and they deserve to be paid for their work. Kip, can you set up On Air have you be a free Lance pilot yourself to earn credits and fly jobs across the world for credits and type ratings and then perhaps use that money later?

    • @KipOnTheGround
      @KipOnTheGround  Před rokem

      I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but all the jobs in OnAir can be flown by you as a "human pilot" -- in this video specifically, I'm going over the AI pilots and employees. You don't have to use AI pilots at all if you don't want to. AI pilots only apply to the Cumulus and Stratus worlds -- but you may need to hire copilots and attendants if you fly larger planes.
      You can also rent and do a check ride for any type of plane in order to get a certification for that plane type. I haven't covered that yet in this series, but I will!

    The program is pretty good, but the pricing model is total BS

      I agree with you. Neo fly is my favorite.

      If you don't care about the "online" features of OnAir, like Virtual Airlines and interacting with other players, or that it works with multiple simulators (unlike Skypark and Neofly), then I'd definitely recommend using NeoFly instead. I don't think $35/year is too high a price when a lot of us are spending that on a single plane or $80/year for Navigraph.

      @@KipOnTheGround I really like skypark though!

    • @KipOnTheGround
      @KipOnTheGround  Před rokem +1

      I do, too! I was using Skypark a lot. It's awesome for more casual stuff, and very easy to use. Don't have to mess with renting planes, transporting pilots, calculating fuel, etc. Just find a route/job and go :-) They have shown some new passenger features in the upcoming version of it, so I'll check that out once it's released.

      @@KipOnTheGround They must have changed the pricing model, still 35$ a year is to much for any software that doesn't require a server to run, How much does Vatsim cost, SimBrief?
      Excusing this behavior is not in the flight sim communities interest and will only lead to more and more developers trying it, you should not be encouraging this behavior of charging a monthly fee for what should clearly be a Buy and keep product.
      They can always work on a VER.2 after all.
      Navigraph requires constant updates that coincide with the real world flight plan data as a comparison it makes ZERO sense.
