  • OnAir Company is a career mode add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Prepar3d that I love using. This is the third video in an ongoing series where I show you how to build your virtual airline company. In this video, we'll learn how to maximize the workloads of our AI pilots by using Work Orders.

excellent tutorials, I have tried on air many months back and gave up due to confusion but, after your tutorials i will give it another try, on air should be paying you for your tutorials because they generate customers.

Nice tutorial about work orders and how to improve the deployment of hired pilots.
The chaining trick is great and saves a lot of time.
    Looking forward to part 4😊

Hey Kip...I love these tutorials. Your tutorial style is the best I have seen. I do have a question that I can't seem to find the answer for...What is the standard time used? Is it zulu? Looking forward to part4 and all following tuts

Yep, it uses Zulu/UTC/GMT time. In the top right area of OnAir is a clock, so you can quickly check it :-)

Editing part 4 right now -- should be out today :-) It's about check rides and doing the multi-leg level 2 mission.

The fuel plan that you suggest in this video is adequate and all. But it doesn't always work. Many locations have no FBO or no supported fuel. So you are forced to figure out how much fuel you need from one leg to the next 6 legs for example. Also, the game requires you to check the box of not loading fuel at the airport if that airport doesn't have your fuel type. Otherwise your AI pilot gets stuck there until you address the issue. Unfortunately when you select not to fuel the aircraft. The onair software incorrectly displays a 0 fuel weight. Which makes accepting jobs and flying multiple missions impossible or at least exceptionally tedious because you are going from screen to screen and calculating everything. I tried your method when I was brand new to work orders, and several of my planes got stuck at their destinations. I submitted a request to onair to change what displays when selecting "dont load fuel at leg departure airport" to default automatically to displaying FUEL ON BOARD. rather than an outright 0 fuel weight which is ridiculous oversight.

Great video. Question about work orders for ai pilots. Next leg airport does become operational til 1000 utc. Ai pilot is resting til 0800 utc. If i start the work order at 1100 when the airport is operational does that 3 hrs count towards the pilot 14 time constraints?

    Great tutorials, Kip.
Question - what is the number of flights that I can string together in a work order? Could I, theoretically, have a pilot work 4 days in a row with the proper rests?

Hey Kip, Is there a way to create and assign an AI pilot to fly a deadhead flight back to main base? Say they are less than 100 miles away. Thinking this would avoid overnight fees. Thanks.

Hi Kip, I'm not getting the button popping up to add a leg and have to figure it out manually and add legs one by one every time, if you know why this is please advise me.

When you do work orders for your AI pilots, will they continue to work if you shut down your computer?

Really, you have to find him jobs for each destination? Air Hauler knew 15 years ago how to make AI pilots look for their own jobs. When I imagine doing that with 20 pilots, I wanna puke.
