    My friend got me a bottle of black barrel for my 21st birthday and later in the year we had a party. It is VERY drinkable, almost binge-able which is odd, especially since I don’t particularly enjoy whiskey. Really nice taste and smooth finish.

      Jamesons overall line is really crushable! I experienced the same thing you did with their coffee bottle as well with a neighbor. We hung out one night and we drank the whole thing!

    I was very impressed with black barrel. They had it as the "featured whiskey" when I went out to our local pub, so I figured why not? I like Jameson after all. It tasted like a whiskey easily twice its price.

    • @whiskey-rut1183

      Well they shouldn’t have charged you twice the price. For that price we would agree with you that Its absurd! I think it has a bit more complexity, but not double! 😂 Normal Jameson is a great whiskey on its own.

    It always sounds weird hearing alcohol prices from other countries, because Norway has insane alcohol taxes. A 70cl bottle of the regular Jameson is 40 dollars here, and a 70cl bottle of black barrel is 50. 100cl of regular is 56, and there is no 100cl black barrel.

    Black Barrel is better. I like Jameson, but really I'm a Jonnie Walker Black person. I drink it because it is smooth and has a nice flavorful spice taste to it. Regular Jameson is good but a little too bland for me or not good tasting at all imo. HOWEVER, the fix is this black barrel version. This version of Jameson is literally like Regular Jameson and Jonnie Walker had a baby, and this is the result, a quality triple distilled 12 year aged SMOOTH AND GREAT TASTING whiskey !!! This is definitely my number 1 favorite right under Jonnie Black, and regular Jameson.

      @@user-fi1xu1pp7p that’s awesome. I love doing custom blends. Have you ever heard of an infinity bottle? If you haven’t, It’s an decanter or empty whiskey bottle. You take the last 2-10 oz of each bottle of whiskey you finish and throw it in there. Over time you have a custom blend of all your favorite whiskies. We have one for bourbon, and I’m definitely going to start an Irish whiskey infinity bottle soon.

    Let’s say a 16 year old try’s whisky and it happens to be the black barrel whisky for the first time. and to him it just taste absolutely bitter but every one else says how good it is. Why does it taste so bad to him?

    • @whiskey-rut1183
      @whiskey-rut1183  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for asking. While WR doesn’t condone under age drinking, it could very well be that since pallets take time and experience to develop, a 16 year old just hasn’t had the time yet. Just like with anything else, practice will produce better results. I think most people had to learn through time to stop tasting the pure alcohol. Though 16 year oldolds should not be practicing the art of drinking whiskey yet.
