I think you guys missed a really cool opportunity here.
You should've split the bottle and then kept adding whatever you feel like to your own individual bottles. Then at the end of the year, have an episode where you compare how different your bottles turned out despite starting from the same stock! Would make a neat episode.
yep was thinking the exact same thing
This is exactly what I was hoping would happen
I'm on your side too, sergeant!
I just wanted to be your 500th thumbs up....
801 👍
thought this would be a method for fitting an infinite amount of whiskey into a bottle.

The Distillery needs an infinity barrel!
To contribute, you have to bring two bottles (they don't have to be the same whisky)...Dump 2, Pull 1.
Start filling the barrel at the opening. Collect all day, then at 5 pm, anyone who contributed can pull 1 bottle.
Going forward, anyone who makes the pilgrimage to the Vault can Dump 2, Pull 1.
Prohibition on whisky liqueurs.
Consider 2 barrels...one peated, the other unpeated.
Canadian Whisky Smith. Whoa. 👏👏👏👏
This is amazing.
Once the barrel is too full, bottle off two-thirds of it and make that one of the Patreon eligible whiskies.
Canadian Whisky Smith This is an exceptional idea- could be done with a counter-top barrel also, even with friends...
John Cormier...Absolutely! A small barrel could over oak things quickly, if you're not careful. However, a large glass jug could work well...If you don't want to add wood notes 😊
how thanos gets wasted.

Perfectly balanced, as all spirits should be.
Just laughed so hard at this, probably because I'm drinking right now lol
Jesus Christ...Thanos you're a mess!
How much did you drink?
Everything...
Lmao
Best part? He snaps and the number of people who might mooch off him gets cut in half...
I think these are some fun tips but i think the point of an infinity bottle is not to be meticulous or measured or try to recapture a specific blend. It's supposed to carry notes of some of your favorite whiskeys in basically random concentrations so that it constantly offers new and exciting experiences with each addition and subtraction from the blend.
You guys should split the bottle and come back in a year after you guys individually add to it and see who makes the better infinity bottle
I am two years late to this.... but after watching this, I am highly curious as to what you two gentlemen can concoct if you added different whiskeys via eye dropper until it was full. Hundreds of different additions and flavors.
that jumpsuit has to be the best thing fireball has had its name on. nice choice
Here you go Ruth:

hahahahahahahahahahaha
I knew I had to get it for them as soon as I saw it.
Must have been hard to find it in a size 'Wee.'
@ Ben "Ruth" was complaining about not "getting any". I just showed "her" someone that had a Viagra hard-on, going on day three, that should satisfy "her". With the hope "she" would get lost. Came across it just before I pulled up this weekend's episode. Naturally, I thought of "her". For all I know, the mods at that site listed pulled the video.
I just ordered a fancy decanter with matching glasses. I've been trying a bunch of different whiskeys to see what's going to be the one I put in there.
I now know exactly what I'm going to do with it.
"islay scotch is gonna destroy anything in there" Yeah, okay, sure, but islay infinity bottle, anyone?
I'll make my own bottle... with SEA SALT!... AND PEAT!
Just started one!
@James Brincefield Ralfy has said that a dash of Islay to an Irish whiskey improves it greatly. I agree wholeheartedly :)
Man, i'm just beginning my ventures into planning a distillery and i've stumbled upon your channel on my studies. I'm in love with the room in this video. Fantastic content so far, looking forward to exploring more of your content.
While I was in college, a local bar on the town square had a “Whiskey punch card” where if you drank all 40-ish of their variety of whiskeys over time, you got your name on a plaque to hang on their wall, and a T-shirt! Needless to say, I spent many nights there making friends with the bartenders over many whiskeys with ice balls! They also had this neat bar game setup with a steel ring hanging from a string about two feet from the wall, and in the wall was a steel hook. The object was to swing the ring onto the hook. I became a master of the ring swing! I think I just found the perfect channel for me! Love me some Basil Hayden’s!
Blanch Daddy That sir is my favorite bourbon.
I did not know of infinity bottles, thank you for this
thanks for watching 👍
Oh yeah thanks for the idea that is going to have me spending money creating something new. I would love to blend flavors like chocolate
Y'all inspired me to start an infinity bottle with the leftovers from my Caol Ila, Monkey Shoulder, and Johnny Walker Black. My goodness, that's good. And it gives me some incentive to go explore some other whiskeys.
I just recently joined The Tribe and I can't believe how much I'm learning about Whisk(e)y. I started with the videos Dan did with Brian and Jason on The Modern Rogue and now I'm 15 videos deep in this channel. After watching this I went and started my infinity bottle with a couple bourbons I had left in my kitchen.
it's like how we, weed smokers, put together blends of whatever dust is left to smoke
Roach joints
The best type of salad :P
best bowl i ever packed was the last bits of dust from all my grinders
The keef is the best part~
Generational joints are the best
This seems really interesting. I should start shopping for a whiskey I've never tried, in a bottle I like, then start one.
I can't believe i've been watching this channel so long and never heard of the infinity bottle. I'm starting one tomorrow. Probably Islay.
I’ve got two infinity bottles. One is a 4-5 year old “catch-all” which is made with about 20 whiskeys, mostly bourbon and rye. The other is a 2 year old scotch only bottle. My rules are: 1) If I don’t hate it, it will probably go in the catch-all; 2) no flavored whiskey; 3) if it’s peated, it doesn’t go in the catch-all and only in a small amount in the scotch; 4) once a bottle is filled, for every oz. removed, an oz. must be put in; 5) every addition or subtraction is recorded.
So far, it’s gone really well, except for the time the catch-all had the aroma and flavor of a coconut snow cone. I had to diversify a little to fix that one
But I like coconut snow cones.
It would make one he'll of a snow cone.
I'm new into Whiskey and have been watching and catching up on all your videos for the last 2 months. My Son or Daughter is due to be born on the 15th March and I'm going to start my Infinity bottle on the same day they are born.
I did this years ago emptying out rum bottles. I kept the mix and haven’t tried it in a very long time. I didn’t know this was something people actually did.
I’m interested in giving this a second shot
This is awesome!
I've never heard of this before.
I'm going tot start one this weekend!
It's going to become a family heirloom, now let's hope my 3 year old daughter grows up to love whisky later on in life. :)
My infinity bottle would just be another bottle of Buffalo Trace...
I’m gonna try one with Buffalo Trace, Blanton’s, and Angel’s Envy
Lol!
😅
Everytime i watch this im amazed at the size of this building
Awesome video- can’t wait to build mine! Just by watching a handful of your videos you’ve enhanced my whiskey/ whisky experience and love for it x10
I have 7 whiskeys sitting on my shelf, I think I'm going to try this, starting with makers, Jamison caskmates, and jack Daniels, lets see how my infinity goes
How did it go if you remember
I love this idea. I have many bottles at the end i cant bring myself to finish so this will be great. No junk like fireball.
WHAAAAAT IS THAT ONESIE... OMFG.
And I personally would use the VikingScars bottle.. love that artwork.
Here's a suggestion: When you are ready to add something new to your infinity bottle, just pour out half an ounce of the infinity bottle in a glass and add a few drops of the new whiskey in there. That way you get to taste it and decide whether you want to add that new whiskey to your infinity bottle or not. Hope it helps
Looks like I finally found the perfect use for my Stormtrooper helmet bottle! :o
Hell yeah.
I have the same storm trooper bottle and I was thinking of doing the same thing!
This video inspired me. I started my own infinity bottle. Elijah Craig Small Batch, Eagle Rare 10, Old Forester, Chivas Regal 12, and Tin Cup. Got about half of a 750ml bottle and can’t wait to add to it. I plan on grabbing a bottle of Booker’s to add before I try. Thanks for the idea.
I have a rum infinity bottle. Only three kinds in there now, but it's growing slowly and it tastes delicious!
Did you ever go back and check on this infinity bottle to see if the flavors melded well with age?
I just started mine a couple days ago, I put it in an old lagavulin 16 bottle that I saved hoping that maybe it would pick up some of the Smokeyness from lagavulin expecting that it would just be a tad at most, it’s shockingly smokey
Great tips and ideas that are colored so much by my instincts for food and even scenting my house and objects. The warnings about rye and strong notes are so important along with all the other well-learned insights. The cellar-cask or w/e method is very much like Mother Vinegar which is basically just its soured cousin. Like if you pickle veggies, keep a reservoir of the remainder and it just eventually creates this pickled stock broth.
I want to try this on the lower end with tincture. I tend to "infuse" disappointing liquors with disappointing fruit purchases-- like wrinkling blueberries before they've gone bad go in a bag with poor tequila until, whenever. You can just nail the bag to a plank in your workshop and just make sure it's secure. Laziest pruno but it saves both ends of failure. Mineral spirits and infused oils are the doorways to scenting your things in case anyone was curious. The best tip is to cure some tea tree oil to your outdoor gear like pocket knife handle and/or cord, gloves, boot laces. Bugs really do seem to hate the aroma. No more tips!
I work as a cobbler/watchrepair and engraver and I wager I have about 100 bottles of different whiskey but damn when I saw your collection I wanted to quit move and work for you guys, I have never felt a calling before
You two seem like the two coolest guys to chill out with.
Daniel's onesie enrages me.
engorges*
hahahaaa
I thought it was apt!
Maybe guys you can do a challenge, take half each of the infinity bottle and compare them after some time to see whos got better and then try combining them :D
I maintain an infinity bottle of rum. Every time I go to a liquor store, I get a different bottle of rum, some of which I've never tried before. When I crack it open, I take a shot and if I like it, I add a shot to the infinity bottle. When the bottle gets full, I'll drink from it almost exclusively until it's down to about a quarter full and then I start building it up again. While I'm filling the bottle, I have to contribute at least 2 shots for every shot I pull. I have used about 30 different Caribbean rums and about 20 different Spanish rums, as well as a few flavored rums over the past 4 years. I don't care about exact ratios, and I am having a ton of fun seeing how my rum blend changes and evolves every time I add or pull a shot. At one point, I had several different flavored rums in it, so it tasted like a boozy fruit punch for about 6 months, until I added enough spiced and straight rum to dilute the fruity flavors. Right now, it's a rich spiced blend with tons of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and even some cardamom, with a hint of the fruitiness still lingering on the back end... It's pretty amazing.
Just started mine after watching this. Thanks for the idea guys!
Aaaah. I have bottles that are filled up for two occasions or reasons. One is for guests who understand whiskey and how to pull out the flavors and experiences. The whiskies that would go in there would be the more rare and high quality high priced whiskey. That bottle I would want to fill up as fast as possible and then leave it alone. But the other bottle would just be budget blend that is basically the scraps of bottles that I never chose to finish. Excited with my past experiences and what I could do with your guy’s whiskey being added to my collection.
There are 5 of us in a small tasting group that meets quarterly. The host shares a taste from their infinity bottle and can select up to 3 bottles to add a 2oz. pour from each. Doing this really expands the opportunity to add some great whiskeys to your bottle without breaking the bank!
First time coming across you guys, and definitely subscribing after this video! Sharing knowledge and having fun is what it’s about! Keep it up guys!
This is a really cool idea. I'm going to have to try this now.
I’m watching this whilst drinking a delmore 12 and loving the idea of a infinity bottle You guys are the best Merry Christmas
My dad and I have an infinity bottle. Our rule for it is we each have a taste of a whiskey and if it is smokey but enjoyable we add the same amount of whiskey we drank into the bottle. When the bottle is full is when open the bottle and drink some of it. Sometimes it's a great experience, but rule 2 comes in. If the infinity bottle taste wild or bad, we toss the bottle into a fire. He says that we added bad whiskey to the bottle because a bad time in our lives. We burn the liquor to end that bad past to ensure it doesn't curse our future.
Love u guys you have become so magnificently good at these videos. N I love how u guys make me feel like family. Love u guys I look forward to ur next video. N maybe I get the pleasure of meeting u guys or trying feather n fang whiskey. Thanks guys for doin what u do seriously!🤓
You can get a dry erase board and a bunch of rubber bands and use those to mark the amount of each whiskey used and use the dry erase to identify what whiskey is used and how much so you can re create and you can also mark the bottle after perfectly adjusted to make a great blend
Glad I found thus episode. Glad I'm not the only one who does this lol. I just use a decantor bottle and use sweet and smokey bourbons/whiskeys with a kick of rye for the spice.
What also works great is a lantern funnel. Especially if you can find an old polished copper one that looks cool to hang over the top.
Wow. First time watching, totally subbed. I have to say I am jealous of your collection. Normally an Irish Whiskey (Tullamore being a favorite and I always pick up a bottle of 12 yr for the birthday) and been adding more scotches to the taste palette over the years. (Sucker for Sherry cask stuff) I LOVE the Infinity bottle idea! Lately I have been trying a few different bourbons and have noticed some of them taste amazing together! (Mostly cheap stuff sadly as the budget has been tight) Tried Rebel Yell recently, and found it amazing. Love a good Bulleit, Larceny, and just tried Bird Dog bourbon....which was AMAZING! As far as Scotch goes, I have had Glenmorangie, Dewars, Glenlivet, Glenfiddditch, and Macallan (one of my favorites). Anyways, look forward to seeing what else you all put out and just saw the Beginners guide you put out and will take a gander!
And I have to agree...that's called alcohol abuse where I come from! Flinging whiskey like that!!
Just bought a new house. Had to come back to this video. Already received some special whiskies to break in the new place. Must start a couple blendaggedens.
May you drink with us!
I am honored to be a magnificent bastard....Don't know why I never subscribed until now. I always watch you guys when I sip whisk(e)y.......which is often....very often...
awesome video, thanks for taking the time to do this.
I am new to whiskey and have been sipping on different brands lately. I have mixed Jim Beam which was my first taste of whiskey, James and Pepper 1776, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden’s, Woodford Reserve and Bulleit. All have been put in a glass decanter I bought off amazon and it smells amazing.
i got a decanter for xmas this year, would an infinity bottle be a good use for this?
First video I’ve seen guys, new sub, looking forward to future vids. Love y’all already.
I want to use this decanter I've got, it's fancy AF. It's all glass but the 'cork' (if you can call it that) is made from a strong clear plastic, so I'm guessing it's air-tight. When tipped upside down there's no leakage or anything. It isn't crystal but I don't think that matters, it's no different from a regular whiskey bottle I guess. Could someone answer if this is a good idea or not?
I saw one guy against using decanters but he was using one with a glass lid you kinda just drop in and pull out, so mine's a bit different. Much more stable.
I see corsair on the shelf back there. Love the Oatrage
The peat taking over has helped me make my blends. Maybe this is how hops in beer works, you can disguise some bad decisions and make something actually drinkable.
I have found that mixing cask strength bourbons with smokey scotch like Ardbeg works very well together.
Super concept im sure you are geting some crazy cool flavors.
I dont drink that much whiskey
But this is super cool.
I have a crazy "brown" bottle.
So I put some rum in here too. Same thing as peat a tiny bit of rum just took over. Not that it's a bad thing.....
Excellent video on an excellent idea!! I might use one of the family's heirloom crystal decanters...
This was great. Making hubby one for Christmas.
I did a similar infinity bottle for RUM! I love it.
That wall makes me envious every time.
You can think of blending a large number of complex and sophisticated whiskeys together as laying on a bed of nails. Just a few of them are piercing but if you evenly distribute enough of them, they create a platform upon which it's hard to focus on the individual notes that make a specific whisky distinguished or even favorable.
I didn't know there was a name for this. I started one in a globe decanter after seeing blendagedon. I never let it get below three quarters and add pretty much anything that I like to it.
I have made 3 different infinity bottles. 1 Irish, 1 bourbon, and 1 scotch. Makes things interesting.
Good for you...
Sounds like a great idea may start one
I have a all rye infinite blend. Up to 18 or so things in it.
Great video guys! Very informative
Just tell me once you guys are up & running that your distributor will ship to Oklahoma. (because, why wouldn't you?)
Really informative and down to earth, noice.
Another great video!Glenfinnich 21 rum cask
love the Angles Envy
question, can i use a decanter for my infinity bottle? its a glass cork
Gotta love the fireball onesie 😂 how long would you leave a infinity bottle to blend for? Is it worth leaving it awhile to see if it matures into a new flavour?
Building a few bottles one is bourbon and regular whiskeys, one is single malt scotches, one for islay, one for blended scotches and one for rums
Great video as always. Love the concept. My current bottle has leftovers from monkey shoulder, writers tears double oak, Jameson black barrel, and belle meade reserve. Great flavors and the finish keeps going. I had no idea this was called an infinity barrel but I like it. Cheers!
That house looks amazing
This is a super dope idea. Definitely doing this, because it never fails, you pour your last glass, but you'll have that .5 oz. That's not much more than a tease.
So I've been very interested in doing one of these for a while, but would it be okay to use a decanter instead of a bottle, or would I have to worry more about evaporation?
I used a Highland Park bottle. So gorgeous.
i call foul. most whiskey from the bottle landed on the awning. rex cheated so Daniel gets the bottle.
john cetera I saw that too.
really love this video and love this concept, luv u guys...
love that onsie!
My wife and I made two blends at Dewar's distellery Scotland about 10 year ago, labelled Lisa's poison (60%) and brucey's blend (58%) at opposite sides of the spectrum. After watching this looking to start an infinity bottle with a combination of the two and two more from the originals. The idea that this can be recorded and potentially be and an heirloom is awesome
I just built a 1.0 liter infinity bottle from 15 whiskeys. Teeling small batch, Jameson, Tin Cup, Makers Mark, Knob Creek 9, Woodford Reserve, Bulleit, 1792, Buffalo Trace, Old Grand Dad BiB, Four Roses, Old Forester, EW 1783, EW BiB, and Benchmark 8. It's pretty darn nice and smooth, but I don't have the nose or palate to tell you any details. I'll be adding some WT101 in the next few days. I DO intend to treat the result as a "treat", and probably keep it in the fridge, since temperature and light have negative effects.
so a few months about like 8 months i started my infinity bottle, its started with evan will honey, then knob creek smoked maple (1st fav), next came Slain irish whiskey (2nd fav so far), and today my last shot worth of Elijah craig. each they i added i tried it i have a bit in a glass rn and idky why but i can smell each of the different whiskey's in it. my range on whiskey hasn't been to large but i hope as i grow it will be a infinity bottle that will be around till i die a old age, started when i was 21. i like whiskey but lately ive gotten into beer, which i thought i'd never get into. no i have two fav beers. Victory's Golden Monkey and New Belgium's VooDoo Ranger. VooDoo Ranger being my !st fav. but even so in the golden monkey like it say it has banana in it i do taste the banana.
but anyway time to try my infinity bottle blend so far.
a very nice sweet taste but at the same time the taste of the slane is battling the sweet the three casted flavor and the aged, is battleing the sweet of the evan will honey. the smoked maple (well like canadian maple syrup) after taste. the craig just just mellow out the battle bettween the slane and honey kinda fitting it together some what nice and smooth..
I do my infinity bottle out of a monogrammed decanter...:) if I get any other bottle gets down to 1/2 inch it goes into the infinity bottle. It’s always changing & always interesting...lol!
Got a bottle of Hibiki Harmony yesterday, I guess I now must fight to finish it such that I may start my own infinity bottle.
Also the Fireball goblin surely needs to become a character in the ongoing chronicles of the Wizard Academy mythos.
12:40 What is that background music? i've been trying to find it for awhile, it's very catchy.
