I thought Macallan had a deal with JB..black label is the best entry level scotch in my opinion. This or Chivas 12 is my go to when I don’t want to spend much

In my opinion the best affordable scotch is Glennmorangie.

Interesting how Jonnie Walker black label and Heineken feature really do feature heavily in Billions, across all 5 series and the two brands are also prominent in the latest Bond film, perhaps they share the same marketing executives or whatnot?

Sorry a little off topic but what happened to the Bond Book Club #flemingreadingchallenge? I read Diamonds are Forever weeks ago and I'm almost done with From Russia With Love. And I'm dyslexic.

Who knew that you were a professional taster of fine liquors? I once hosted a wine tasting party. Hmmmm, perhaps I could host a group tasting event when we get to better times. This was quite a coincidence. I had some Black around February at a party and liked the peatiness. Last week I picked up a bottle, the first since college days, and am enjoying it. My office "Butler's tray" of sipping spirits now contains Macallan, Blanton's, Legend of Kremlin and now Johnnie Walker. Welcome to our fellow "Striders."

This is my ‘go to’ Scotch.
If we ever have company I put this out on the bar tray and hide the Macallan... I know it’s selfish but my wife and I can’t bear to share it ☺️

There is a smoked version of the BL. Called double black. Bit more pricier but much more elegant and high quality. Check it out.

I wish I bought a crate of JW Green back about 12 years ago.. They stopped making it, and when it came back it tasted bad..
Black is fiiine.. Not good.. I wouldn't be offended if someone served it with dry ginger.
The Bond Experience should really start incorporating the books into reviews like this. I believe he drank Grand Dad bourbon. Really bottom shelf by today's standards 😂

I have a bottle, but am not much of a fan. For me JW Black is meh followed by damp ash.
As much as I'd like to love Scotch whisky, I just cannot enjoy it--especially the ones that are smokey/peated. I much prefer a Bourbon.
