Ballantine's rhymes with Valentine's.
Glad to see you all posting again. Happy vaginally escape day!
What a mess. Is it supposed to be fun???
Ballantine is my cheapo of choice.
ballntines is my favourite lower price whiskey for a few reasons but the most important is 'cause it is pretty drinkable even without mixing with anything else and for only €20 in Europe you get 1 liter of it. Really good whiskey if you are really low on budget.
I'm from Hungary, we have these as well in every supermarket, store etc. I'm fine with Ballantines, but Johnnie... Tried twice, i don't like it's harsh taste. 4 and 2 score suits me as well
Your editing and poor attempt at humour really distracts from wanting to know about a whisky. I'm sure this angle has worked very well for you but I personally find it mindless and futile. Won't be back. Sorry to troll.
When I saw stuff being thrown thru the air, I remembered why I didn't Subscribe..... I drink both of these as a daily sipper. But I kinda lost interest when the lady behind the scene started mouthing off.
Finished my Wheel Horse Rye this week and tonight I in my just as good. Wild Turkey 101 Rye... Both are Great..
I like Wild Turkey 101 Rye and just picked up a Wheel Horse 101 Rye Plus a bottle of Rittenhouse for my fixer..
Chris: I haven’t had ritten house before. I did myself just pickup another bottle of wheelhorse. I like wild Turkey as well. For a good end of night old fashioned they both are great!
that rating scale got me good
Love Bourbon ❤
My friend got me a bottle of black barrel for my 21st birthday and later in the year we had a party. It is VERY drinkable, almost binge-able which is odd, especially since I don’t particularly enjoy whiskey. Really nice taste and smooth finish.
Jamesons overall line is really crushable! I experienced the same thing you did with their coffee bottle as well with a neighbor. We hung out one night and we drank the whole thing!
Red label has bexineya joke, too much caramel additive and sugar syrup. Ballentines has some genuine flavor and has less caramel additive.
i can relate to the shorter guy´s rating,to my taste they are kiiiiiiinda the same,BUT Ballantine´s Finest sits with me little better, when it comes to cheap scotches (kinda shame tho that Grant´s Family reseve been discontinued here and replaced with Triple wood-that one,Family reserve i do like more than the other three,Tripple wood,Ballantine and Red label, plus as a bonus,Grant´s come in fancy bottles)
funny when i just tried these two again,it was the other ways around,Ballantine´s been beaten by Red Label (still, since i am really not a drinker, none can beat in my case Jameson (seems i have rather a taste for irishes then scotches)
Love the Black Barrell....well worth the price
Thanks for doing this review. Black Barrel is a staple in my house. Basic Jameson I don't care for. This one however, I keep around.
those who clicked unlike buttons are Bron-sexual 💯
Very strange ???? experts in comparing liquor but brings a hammer and a plier to open them ...
I agree
I THINK THE BLACK BARREL IS MUCH SMOOTHER
Couldn’t agree more. Soo good.
Ballantines is pretty good for the price, I havent had red label in years, Ill have to re-try it
Let us know what you think!
Love it, lovely baby 👶
Can you guys do a review on Brothers bond bourbon
Absolutely. we will add it to the list!
Just take a bunch of Single Malts Scotch’s, pour the last 2 oz into an an almost empty Scotch bottle, and eventually you have your “Infinity Bottle”. You can do this with Bourbon or whatever you choose. Eventually you can take a sip and keep adding or subtracting from it. Whatever your preference.
Like your own private blend that cant be tasted anywhere else! Good call.
So in essence the main difference between the two is that you automatically feel a sense of accomplishment just by opening the one.
In this case....... that's exactly right. Other people that have functioning motor skills might feel differently than we did.😅
Red label is very spirited
That it is!
You shouldn’t talk about your mothers old smoking habits🤣
Haha!
Love it!
It always sounds weird hearing alcohol prices from other countries, because Norway has insane alcohol taxes. A 70cl bottle of the regular Jameson is 40 dollars here, and a 70cl bottle of black barrel is 50. 100cl of regular is 56, and there is no 100cl black barrel.
Your right. It’s so interesting. Even within the states prices can vary quite a bit. I will ship bourbon to other states for friends because it’s cheaper for them to pay for shipping than to buy certain bottles “Retail” in their area.
Great job guys!!!!!
Let’s say a 16 year old try’s whisky and it happens to be the black barrel whisky for the first time. and to him it just taste absolutely bitter but every one else says how good it is. Why does it taste so bad to him?
Thanks for asking. While WR doesn’t condone under age drinking, it could very well be that since pallets take time and experience to develop, a 16 year old just hasn’t had the time yet. Just like with anything else, practice will produce better results. I think most people had to learn through time to stop tasting the pure alcohol. Though 16 year oldolds should not be practicing the art of drinking whiskey yet.
@@whiskey-rut1183 so what your saying is even tho underaged drinking inst encouraged, said 16 year old needs to practice drinking it more over time to get a better taste?
@@whiskey-rut1183 but preferably after he’s 21?
Bottom shelf whiskey, top shelf content.
Haha! Thanks!
Haha! Thanks!
Love your performance! ❤
I love a Wild Turkey, but craving to have the others also.
Calling Jack Daniels and Ezra Brooks "bottom Shelf" is sheer BS. Bottom shelf "whiskey" and "Bourbon" brands cost $8 for 750 ml and maybe 12 or 13 for 1.75 l. They usually are not pure whiskey. Instead, they have 20 -25% whiskey and the rest grain alcohol (similar to gin or vodka). Evan Williams and Ezra Brooks may be budget friendly but they are real straight bourbon whiskey's. Jack Daniel's is more pricey. The black label 1.75 liter costs $38 at Total Wine. You can actually buy three 1.75 liter bottom shelf "whiskeys" at Total whine for $37-$41 or one bottle of Jack's.
Get out dat rut!
Cheap is a word used to describe the poor quality of (most often) some lower cost items. Low cost does not always = cheap. You can buy moderately priced or higher priced items that are "cheap." The Ballantines costs $17 for 750 ml at Total Wine. 750 ml is not very much! I bought a six pack of Diet Cokes in the half liter bottles - 3 liters total, or the same volume as 4 bottles of 750 ml Ballantines (4 times $17 = $68). If your normal daily procedure is to have one or two mixed whiskey drinks or to drink it on the rocks, etc., you can easily go through 2-3 bottles per month. Basically, this would land me in the same cost range per month as my monthly internet bill! Spending $30 to $120 on a 750 ml bottle can easily stretch into several grand a year. There are many things I would rather spend my money on and get by drinking quality, less expensive booze. Just maybe I can save enough for a quality trip to Hawaii every year of two by suffering through with the Red Label. If you are a regular Scotch drinker, the true cost should be annualized! How much are you spending per year? How much per month? If you drink the Red Label, or the Black Label normally as your everyday Scotch, how much per year? Is that a low cost item on your annual budget? If you are a two pack per day smoker, are you spending more on smokes or scotch each year?
I get what your saying, and would agree. Just because a whiskey is priced low doesn't mean it is "cheap" in quality. We tend to keep low cost whiskey on our shelf as an "every day drinker" and keep more costly, or sought after bottles on the shelf for special occasions. Not necessarily because they are better in quality, but because they are whiskeys that people want to try and are good community building bottles. That's why our main goal is to try and find the best whiskey for the money. If you can buy a 20 dollar bottle that is the same quality as a 50 dollar bottle, then we would drink the cheaper and (as you pointed out) save on our annual whiskey expenditures without needing to suffer "cheap" whiskey as a result.
The first time I tried Johnny Walker (last week) it was very bitter and left an oily taste to my tongue which wasn't pleasant at all. I gave it the benefit of the doubt as I hadn't tried it before so my tastebuds were new to it. The next night it tasted better, not oily but still smokey which is nice. Ballantines next for me.
Let us know which one you like better. Would love to get your input.
Ezra Brooks 10x better
I definitely prefer the Ezra, if the choice has to be made.
promosm 👊
So good!
Haha! Thanks TJ!
Great actors, great ads! Way to go. 😄
Thanks my friend!
I think, with some expirience with cheap whiskies, (since I am comming from a country where you unfortunatelly couldn't easily find Laphroaig, Glenfiddich, Cardhu), that problem with bottom shelf whiskies is not essentially their lower quality, but more inconsistency in quality. Especially with Ballantines, wich is No1 selling whisky in 3rd world countries - sometimes is very soft and tasty, sometimes is watery or even worse, almost acidic. I also heard stories that it is much better in some neighboring countries, with slightly different label on a back of a bottle. And I almost feel betraded, since I'm emotional with my first whiskey 😊
Thanks for the info! Learn something new every day. I hadn’t heard that, but I know certain distillers are much better at consistency than others, and some batches can be more unique than others. It all depends on their process. I could definitely see that being annoying; thinking your buying a certain flavor profile and then having it change.
Drink till yer blind!
Haha!
This video made me laugh so hard I almost spit out my Laphroaig 10. When buddy says that JW Red Label is “peaty”, I lost my shit🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know taste is subjective and all, but JWRL is to peat, what water is to the desert - non existent lol
Haha! Drinking Laphroaig 10, I can definitely see why you would say that. I think prior to this, there was some bourbon consumed. After drinking bourbon, I feel like you can taste peat in almost any scotch.
To be honest, red label for a blend non age statement used to have hint of peat and smokey whisky but not the in your face super peated single malt whisky like Laphroaig. You do realize that Laphroaig even compared to most Islay peated single malt whiskies is considered super Heavy peated with hint of hospital bandage and port fishers on the nose, that's very extreme peated notes and you can not compare Laphroaig to blend whisky with hint of peat
Red label as black label used to have hints of coal ila and talisker Islay peated single malty whisky but with times as demand for both caol ila and talisker were skyrocketing and the price top as they made good blenders for many distilleries who make blend whiskies and others who make blend malt whiskies and even independent bottlers, Jonny walker has reduced the amount of both single malt whisky from both the red and black label. The green label is particularly a malt blend and used to have only single malt whisky, I think from five distilleries mainly from caol ila and talisker as a blend and Grengenmore as spey side fruity whisky as well two other distilleries I don't remember their name yet it used to be very peated and smokey but lately the last two releases from 2015 and 2018 are now less peated as they also reduced drastically the amount of caol ila and talisker in it as they were the two main whiskies of the malt blend. Green label used to be my favorite Johnny walker brand. If you are a peated whisky fan and you could find online or in shop near you am old bottle of green label prior to the year 2016, you should buy it and try it, it's quality malt blend heavily influenced with both caol ila and talisker okay malt whisky
@@goldenphoenix4475 Well I just did compare them.
