Spotlight on... Micheldever (includes a Class 701 on test)

Micheldever is an attractive station between Basingstoke and Winchester on the South Western Main Line. It has regular services passing through (with some stopping) operated by South Western Railway. Longer distance Cross Country operated services also pass through, and there is also frequent freight trains - most of which are heading to/from Southampton's ports.
My visit was on a lovely sunny Autumn day in October 2020.

But how comes that the station is only few miles from the actual village and is 10 miles from Basingstoke and 6 miles from Winchester. Perhaps Mitcheldever railway station should be renamed as Micheldever Parkway. Plus nice to see the Class 701 “Arterio” train passing through whilst on test run.
