Spotlight on...Trimley (near Felixstowe)

  • Footage from a 3-hour visit to Trimley station in August 2020. It's a small station on the outskirts of Felixstowe and has an hourly passenger between Ipswich and Felixstowe, now operated with Stadler 'Flirt' Class 755 trains by Greater Anglia, and very frequent freight services passing through on their way to or from Felixstowe Port.

    Awesome. Not just freight trains that use the Felixstowe branch line to and from Port of Felixstowe. But also Greater Anglia Class 755 trains also use the small busy branch line operating a local shuttle between Ipswich and Felixstowe.

      Thank you. Yes, it's a great spot - and with opentraintimes maps you know exactly when something is coming along. It's quite interesting to see how the freight and passenger trains weave amongst each other on what remains a largely single track railway.
