Some Specials at Worting Jn + Basingstoke in July & September 1992
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Worting Junction and also Basingstoke taken on various dates in July and September. The September dates were the 12th and 13th and feature some of the special workings as part of the Bournemouth Depot Open Days. The star visitor was the return of Class 71 Bo-Bo Electric Loco E5001 seen at Worting and Basingstoke. Several other special workings were witnessed too. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Superb variety of traction, thanks for posting this!!
You are most welcome Gordon and many thanks....Mark
Everything about that 71 is utterly charming, what a beautiful loco. I wonder if it will ever be seen on the mainline again. Lovely to see 47 706 still in Scotrail livery as well. Great video, very enjoyable.
Many thanks for watching and I fully agree E5001 looking superb....best wishes....Mark
Excellent video with a great variety, takes me back all that NSE" And wow a 71 video, superb!! Never knew they peeped :) Thank you
Same horns as "Sarah Siddons" perhaps.....many thanks for the kind feedback.....Mark
What a great variety of traction in this video. Keep these coming. They are very much appreciated.
You are most welcome Paul and best wishes....Mark
Seeing the 47/7s in NSE Livery broke my heart at the time. I loved doing the shove duffs between EDB and Queen St. However it meant they got a stay of execution, not that the hoover fraternity were happy about it. The 71, I wish that was allowed on the mainline again. Like a cross between a warship and a 67, even the peep peep horn has a charm about it. Thumper for haulage, is still on my railway bucket list to do. 47350 was a biggy on a loco hauled turn too. Looked like one of the cameraman by the yellow car looked quite perturbed he'd missed out on it too. Great video. Thanks for sharing Mark.
Many thanks Mickey.....best wishes to you .....Mark
14:14, 25:08 OMG, class 71 on the mainline! 🚂👍
Yep .....great to have seen....Best wishes....Mark
