If nintendo really wants to discourage scalping, then releasing the hardware in generous numbers to meet demand is good enough. Why does there need to be some "Master plan" involved?

    • @Gametester110-qf8vs
      @Gametester110-qf8vs Před měsícem

I don't get why a "Master Plan" is required here. Just release the hardware in generous numbers to meet demand, and scalping won't be a problem.

@@Gametester110-qf8vs i believe thats what the plan is... but mofos be greedy and think they buy a buttload and empty the store and can resell anyway. So its almost like they may need to have a plan, like a huge initial stock, then planned back stock for quick restocks to ensure people can get one without worry.

Remember there are many types of visual impairment. I'm colorblind, and a lot of games are difficult due to need to be able to identify by color. Some are easy fixes, puzzle games could have shape or patterns in addition to color to identify items. Also, sometimes it can be an issue with intensity. I was stuck for weeks playing HALO, our TV broke and we had to get a new one. Once we had the new TV the picture was more vivid, I was able to find a vehicle that I couldn't see with the old TV. I was able to continue on and finish the game.

Scalping is the easiest thing to solve, but most companies showed that they didn’t care as long as units were sold. If Nintendo wants to combat it, all they’d really need to do is force the console to be sold in store, and to limit the number to one per person. You won’t beat the people that make a living off it, but the ones that do it on the side won’t bother to put the extra work.

New consoles of any brand are always in short supply on release and will be scalped, you can only make so many. People need to remember that even the disaster of the Xbox One release was hard to find as well when it first came out.

Thanks for sharing that info! It's great to see Nintendo rejecting the Silicon Valley push to put "AI" in everything. I also like how they differentiate enemy programming in video games from the plagiarism machines that now go by the term, "AI". The marketing departments have bastardized that term so much that they had to invent a new term for what was traditionally considered to be "AI", "AGI".

I saw the question regarding a possible stock split. It is weird how so many people want to own as many shares as possible when it has nothing to do with actual company valuation. It is especially pointless when so many brokers allow fractional share purchases. It can make sense for a Broadcom type of situation, but not something like Nintendo.
That AI generated Mario in the thumbnail is nightmare fuel.

Thank you for touching on the question of how nintendo plans to accommodate those with visual impairment. As a gamer myself without the use of vision, it is sad to see that they are a bit behind the accessibility curb, whereas Sony and Microsoft already have screen-reading software built into their consoles. I have a switch, but sometimes, for example, its more annoying trying to find the games I want to play or change settings on it compared to how things are on ps4 and ps5. Glad to see that others are bringing up this issue to nintendo, and I really hope that they try to address the issue with their next console. Keep up the awesome work; I love your content, especially the portable gaming hardware reviews.

Nintendo's problem isn't scalpers it's that they'd rather go after their own customers or emulators than produce quality consoles and games. They have consistently had underpowered consoles and they have also consistently had an overpowered legal department. They're less a gaming company than a law firm with a toy department.

There's plenty of things they can do first have live agents taking the orders that way Bots wouldn't work demand in stores customer shows them their ID that is current and up to date the help prevent reselling. Ensure that the serial numbers can all be tracked and if it reseller attempts to resell the item have it bricked. Just a few suggestions I h resellers and I do not like Bots

Nintendo should have a lottery for their customers that have a Switch account. If u want it u can get it from said retailer on their list. And the console would b tied to that user only so I can’t resell it for a certain amount of years. You’d have to have an account for at least a year to be eligible. If u no longer wanted your console Nintendo would buy it back so you could only sell it to them. These are my thoughts to discourage scalping and resellers.

The best deterrent for scalpers is old fashioned buy in store only. Other wise they'll always find a way around. My local Walmart is selling just one console per person. That's how it's done not selling 200 on-line.🤑

If Nintendo doesn't get the Switch 2 released before June of 2025 they are going to run into the early stages of EU law that is going to require it to have user replaceable batteries. Could majorly effect the design of it if they don't get it out and force them to eat a bunch of cost as they potentially could have to retool devices already made.

2 different OS's but i get it. Like I want Nintendon't to release a console update where you can now use your SD card on ANY switch model without having to reformat. Its why I stopped getting digital games when I discovered that and now all the money I spent on over 400 games I got to now find physical versions and try and rebuy some game. I am skipping the Switch2 and will eventually just get a PC handheld for more demanding games. Because of the SDcard-drm, the switch console is just a portable coaster.
All that primary secondary account BS. Plus all the steam or GOG games i have , are a 1 time purchase, and cheaper. They will automatically work on the PC handheld devices without needing a "native port". Even with Steam games, I only buy them if theres a pirate version available . this way I can also backup the game outside of steam. But nintendo is going to force me to get a modchip one day just so I can use my SD card on either switch device I have. So stupid.

This is all just lip service from Nintendo, to them a sale is a sale, regardless of whose hands the console ends up in. There's a financial incentive to a scalper trying to acquire multiple consoles, so they might even invest in software (or even paying people to stand in line) to maximize their profits. Conversely, any measures Nintendo take will likely have a cost, which eats in to their profits. And since they answer to not their customer base, but shareholders (who care even less who a console is ultimately sold to than Nintendo) even the most obvious solution (manufacturing so many consoles in advance of release that they have to pay extra warehousing fees) will be shot down because it comes with extra cost.

  • @badboy-gn8fu

it's not hard to answer. you just can't be politcally correct. you need eyes that can see to play video games. that's all you have to say. just like you need hands to play. stupid question imo.
