"People Are NO Longer Afraid To Vote Right-Wing!" | Marine Le Pen's Party Surges In French Elections

  • Political theorist Ralph Schoellhammer says “people are no longer afraid to admit they are voting for right-wing parties” as Marine Le Pen's party surges in the French elections.
“It was once considered socially unsavoury to vote for right-wing parties.”
Labour and European parties need to address the everyday concerns of disaffected voters and show that only progressives have the answers, Sir Keir Starmer has said.
Sir Keir was asked after a stump speech at Hitchin Town Football Club what lessons he drew from the strong showing for the French far-right National Rally party in the first round of election voting.
“The lesson that I take from nationalism or populism wherever it is across Europe - obviously we’re seeing the results emerging from France -
but we also see the situation in other countries across Europe and across the world.
“The lesson I take from that is that we need to address the everyday concerns of so many people in this country who feel disaffected by politics who feel on this Thursday either that the country’s too broken to be mended or that they can’t trust politicians because of what the Tories have done after the last 14 years.
“We have to take that head on and we have to show both Thursday in the United Kingdom and across Europe and the world that only progressives have the answers to the challenges that are facing us in this country and across Europe."

I was educated in Paris ,am a Frenchman or dual and long enough ago to remember her Father, and he told us the Holocaust was a lie,not withstanding the evidence, of the death camps ,and he was really quite impressed by Hitler, and supported Vichy and was against Independence for Algeria, and I have no evidence that the daughter is any more honest, and all I can say is that a large number of Frenchmen have not benefitted from a French Education as I did. And one more point. I was, as my Fiance [French ]a member of the French Communist Party and the general who lived in the apartment to mine said to us both, I do not support many of your policies mademoiselle but I never forget that the Communist Resistance saved the honour of France, and I never forget that but for the gallantry of the Red Army we enjoyed liberty and I only regret that the survivors in the Red Army did not secure for themselves what they procured for us. Sophie you are wrong, you are wrong in attributing to your God a woman who is the very antithesis of the principles which Christ adumbrated in his Sermon on the Mount .Do not crucify Christ again. I am an agnostic and a Scientist but you appeal to God sticks in y nostrils like the Stench of Trump. It seems that people have learned no Ethics from their religion only the empty piety and the defunct doctrines.

Interesting opinion & good understanding of religion.
But extreme left & liberalism have pushed the rest of the world too far. So, like or hate Trump, the right wing of politics is rising up.
I am not political but according to my understanding of the prophecies of Daniel.
The king of the south (atheism/ liberalism etc), mindset has provoked the king of the north(conservative) mindset.
It's a clash and one side has to lose. What i fear is the synthesis that will potentially rise up from this friction of thesis vs antithesis.
We call it Christian nationalism. It will unleash the greatest dictatorship & oppression ever known.

@@benedictcowell6547 I'm agnostic but THANK GOD for TRUMP too. The people of France have spoken, Le Penn is the will of the people, if you don't like democratic western values, then you're the one who is wrong. Supposedly wanting peace and free speech is Right Wing now and that used to be considered (stereotypically anyway) more a Left Wing thing for hippies to get heated about for a long time. These Left Wingers call themselves Anti fascist but they act very Fascist so no votes for them or their Globalist warpig overlords. The Tories love all that Globalist Commie high tax crap and Eco Fascism too. There's us (normal easy going live and let live types) and them (Globalist thieves and bullies) and people are staring to see things that way far more. People are trying to trick voters into feeling like it isn't up to them and to let others bully and judge and guilt them into voting their way as if you shouldn't be allowed a vote each - only they should have heir vote and your vote and everyone else's....Maybe this works more on generations that do social media a lot and think that the number of likes something gets is a measure of accuracy or something. I don't really understand why people think others should decide how they vote. What is the point of having a vote at all then? We live in weird times with people called "influencers" who do that as a job etc..

Sometimes you can be so outnumbered that it would literally be harmful to the house that you live in, the place that you work and quite possibly to your person,
for you to display that you are a 'conservative' or 'right wing'...

Right leaning isn't viewed as extreme anymore by most people - the UK is really one of the few outliars in Europe while most other countries have shifted to the right. Europe has had a strong liberal left leaning for decades and its leant too far over that line which has led to an equal and opposite reaction.
The next few decades europe will shift further to the right - particularly on the basis of illegal migration.

I think we're witnessing the revenge of the outcasts, the revenge of the forgotten, the revenge of this invisible France, this silent France, this France that I deeply respected when it was a yellow vest, when it was a red bonnet, when it was a revolutionary."

How is it possible to find a Frenchman who "gets it", but hundreds of thousand of Britons who don't.
Absolutely correct, we like Europe a lot, but we like the Europe of Frenchmen, Germans and Italians. etc. etc.
If you all become Europeans you lose the very uniqueness that we like. The uniqueness that your forebears created when they established and built your great nations, complete with traits that makes each of you different to all the other Europeans. There is great value that exists in the diversity and quirks of that Europe, which is going to be lost with the 'single state' Europe that the EU is about creating.
And we'll miss you all being so damned annoying if the EU get their way ;-)
