- The Jeep is all fixed finally and better than ever. This will be the last update video that was almost 3 years in the making. SEE DESCRIPTION BELOW. What turned out to be a neutral safety switch malfunction that led to the jeep not starting in the last update video • Revisit the 2000 Jeep ... we also had to put a transmission into it. Now it's running fantastic, with everything working, shifting properly, it's now just as it should be. I detailed it fully so it can hopefully make someone else happy that will take care of it and enjoy it. After all this vehicle was pretty much history making when I started this channel so I'd be very happy to see it go to a new home.
This video was a quick shoot, no special format or 1080p, due to timing and other things to take care of I wanted to at least MAKE SURE I was able to film it this time around for all my long time subscribers who have supported me so much over these few years. Thanks everyone and I hope you all enjoy!!
In case anyone was wondering, the Jeep is for sale right now and with everything my dad sells a 30 day 1000 mile warranty is included :) www.autotrader.com/dealers/inv...
DESCRIPTION FROM PREVIOUS UPDATE VIDEO
Well for the majority of people who might not understand why I made this video, I'll explain it all haha. Back a couple years ago when I first started making videos, they were videos like this, of random cars, cars with issues, tinkering, how to videos and much more. Just a regular car channel of random things I came across when I worked at my dad's dealership in highschool and during my undergrad work at campbell university. This vehicle is my most famous, or "infamous" if you will, video series of that era. The cursed jeep that kept coming back with more and more issues haha. These are enjoyable and fun videos, with anticipatory plots so to speak, with random inserts. A ton of people enjoy these videos as do I, which is why I started making videos in the first place! I never was able to finish up the final update video on this vehicle before we put a new engine in it and sold it. I was at school at the time. Now, almost 3 years later IT'S BACK and back with more problems ::sigh:: so let's take a close look in a old school saabkyle04 tribute video!!! Feel free to take a look at the other videos of this vehicle on my channel from way back and you'll see what I mean!! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
1:46 Most of us thought we'd never see the day.. It actually started!
John Green Twin I have to be honest, I NEVER saw this coming
Right on dude!
@@antiqueelectronics2462 you like nonexistent things, huh? I’ll show you old man. Vintage electronics don’t exist.
chez
I love Jeeps. It was sad seeing the history that that Jeep has gone through. Glad to see it's healthy again!
That engine sound is awesome!
BEAUTIFUL, IT RUNS BETTER THIS TIME! JEEPS ARE GREAT.
They are, but I don’t know if Scotty Kilmer would agree.
Those 4.0L In-line 6 cylinder engine are pretty good engines, however that person who owns that Jeep treated it terribly which is how it ended up like a pice of junk.
it's amazing how far you've come as a car reviewer, kyle. you get better every day!
We have a 2001 and 2002 and both are still going strong. Ours are 4WD both in the 130,000 mile range. We keep the maintenance up on both. I am very attached to mine and it was so sad to see and hear how bad the one in your video was. I can't believe people can do this to a vehicle. I am so glad you persevered and got this beauty up and running. It's beautiful and looks and sounds new. I hope whoever has it now is taking care of it.
Hope the person who has it now takes very good care of it, that poor jeep deserves it.
I love that Jeep it's a real fighter
Have you seen this Jeep at all since this video?
that is a nice sounding jeep. I love the sound of the motor
I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THE DAY THAT THIS CAR WOULD START!!!!!
Awesome job Kyle. The Jeep sure sounds better than ever. Keep up the great videos.
I first watched your video where you tried to drive it with a blown engine and that video was so sad. It was painful to watch. I am so glad you got it fixed and running well again.
Just bought a 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo last month, optioned the same way as this one but with the SelecTrac 4WD system, and a power driver's seat, but it is pretty much the same, and I love it! Gotta love your straight six Jeep engine! (:
The amount of happiness you probably felt when that Engine W o r k e d-
So nice to see it up and running again, poor Jeep has been through hell and back. It's sad when people can't take care of their vehicles, my mom had a 2002/2003 Grand Cherokee and she loved it. But I'm glad it's back alive and running strong, hopefully the next owner will take good care of it.
A big transformation, good on you Kyle for never giving up on this car!
Getting an older car working and purring like this is great. The next owner will have a great ride on their hands ! Hope they enjoy it !
Kyle I love you for keeping up with this Jeep and showing it some love. Im a huge fan of these Grand Cherokee's and always loved seeing it on your channel since the first vid. If anything should happen to it again please post it! Thanks :)
I am so proud of you for posting a test drive video of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. How nice of you. Jeeps are nice. They run good.
Probably the most stylish Jeep ever made unlike some of the monstrosities Jeep sell here in Australia nowadays. Still very popular here and easy to get parts. Very much under rated.
congatulations !!!!!! you made it fine and it sounds perfect
I've had three jeeps. I got rid of one of these 7 years ago. I saw one on a used car lot today. Test drove it. Idol speed a little high, then went down and up? 142,000 for $3,000. I might go get it next week. The perfect model jeep even now, I think.
I found Kyle's channel back in 2009 when he first got started on CZcams, and this Jeep was the reason why I found his channel. I've been watching all the videos Kyle's made on this Jeep, and am so glad to see it back on the road again! (:
Good to see her finally put back together properly. I hope she find a good home now. I have a '99 with 76,000 miles and runs like a top. I think the only thing I'd change is maybe install a little bit softer suspension. The area I live has some rough roads and you definitely feel some of the bumps. I do wish I had that stereo head unit. Mine doesn't have the in-dash CD, but it does have the 10 disc changer in the rear. It's also 4X4.
It’s hard to believe it’s the same vehicle! This is my favorite generation of the Grand Cherokee, it’s super reliable like the previous generation with the 4 liter, inline 6 cylinder engine
this car deserves a new loving owner!
Starting to get teary eye just remembering that Jeep that cheap like started the channel and I really like that Jeep that’s I keep watching your videos of it when I was blowing I really like it nice video
The Jeep lives on!! It's a nice car when everything on it works correctly! Lol. I REALLY hope this poor Jeep goes to a good owner that will take really good car of it. That Inline 6 has a lot of life left in it, bulletproof engine to say the least. I'm glad it was only a switch that prevented it from starting. Not many other cars could survive as much neglect as this Grand Cherokee has! Thank you Kyle for posting this video and keep up the fantastic work!
wow it has been 3 years since the first video. So congratulations to you saabkyle04. And keep up the good work
Great to see it running!
Sad to see the last update video on the Jeep. That 'ol Jeep has been like family the last 3 or so years. Thanks for the update!
i love it now That its back on the road again.
When I first subscribed to the channel I watched the videos on this particular Jeep. Cherokees are a favorite of mine, so it was very sad hearing about someone just essentially trashing the vehicle. I'll be glad to see it go, hopefully to someone who will actually take care of it. I've got a 1999 Nissan Sentra with over 180,000 miles on it running just as good! Take care of what you drive, it'll reward you in the end. : )
wow I remember this Jeep the first time you made a video of it, what a long time it's been. The shifter is a common problem on these, I've done four at my work. Jeep released a TSB and updated shifter/cable assembly because they all go bad eventually. And dude I miss these kinds of videos in this "format". Casual, unscripted, no cuts no edits.
awesome!! this car has such a long history!
Nice sounding motor runs like a champ
Thank you for posting this video.
You made me happy when you mentioned that awesome fox that drive by.
you do a really good job cleaning and detailing my friend!
just got mine same year and color mines got fog lights and 159000 miles runs great.had to get the plastic bumpers re done and it looks brand new.love your vids keep em comin :)
1:35 I like that startup
it was like showroom new when you detailed it, awesome job on it
Yay! The Jeep lives again!!!!!!
Happy to see this car running:).
Is the transmission brand new or rebuilt?
Maybe rebuilt
cant believe its running. FINALLY
Wow runs great I hope whoever buys it will look after it.
Well, I'm glad it's good now, or at least it was back when this video was made. I'm curious to know if this car ever appeared back at the dealership since then with other problems. But I'm a fan of the Grand Cherokee so hopefully it's still doing good.
It lives!!!!!!!!
shes runnin' like a champ!
it's nice that the jeep is fixed and back on the road again.
It's about time!! It's only been 3 years haha
It lives!!!
Running like a champ Running like a champ
Im getting a car for graduation. I realized i wanted an SUV, but there is nothing like a Jeep. I test drove one of the these the other day and i love it!!! the ride quality is amazing, the four wheel drive was amazing, and the engine note is great to listen to!! I was trying to decide between this or a liberty, but just looking at the two i know i want a Cherokee! I can't wait for mine!!
The jeep is looking good
I have a blue 04 Grand Cherokee SE that I bought used with about 143000 miles, and it's in excellent condition
Wow such a huge difference, back in the older videos this jeep sounded like a lawn mower or a motorcycle but now it sounds a lot different and quieter :)
@billysepf74 I agree. He never gave up on this Jeep, even when it was full of junk and had the blown engine. You really should never give up on a Jeep, especially older ones with this engine because it keeps going with just basic maintenance. Of course, take extra care of it for max life but it's well known for it's legendary reliability and durability. I've never owned a Jeep but everyone who does loves them. Hopefully this Grand Cherokee went to a good owner finally!
Memories came alive
nice sound!
Gotta love the jeeps. They will put up a long fight
She's runnin' like a champ! She's runnin' like a champ!
yesss she livessss
that this beautiful jeep, i like, i love
Ive wanted a Grand Cherokee ever since this generation came out...and last Sept I got one. It's a 2006 with the 4.7L, so not as classic as this one (and although I love a V8 it just not as special as these I-6's) but I still love it and I'm sure it'll still be going past 250K.
How did it treat you?
Still havw the jeep?
I love these jeeps...mines getting a engine put in it now....so did you have a hard time finding a used inline 6 for this jeep?...I had a helluva time finding a good one in Pittsburgh
The “Crank the Jeep” videos from 2009-2012 were pretty interesting to look at. I wonder how it’s holding up now almost 10 years later.
IT RUNS!
That is probably the best that Jeep has looked in years. I hope whoever buys it gives it a good home.
I must say Kyle, the cars are very nicely and neatly arranged on the lot! I like how they're arranged by body style so the sedans, SUVs, and pickup trucks all have their own section. The only thing that bothers me is that they seem a little too close to the street so I'd be a little nervous about that guy with the camaro who crashed into the power box at your old college driving around... :0 Other than that, it seems nice and peaceful in Reidsville :D
I thought I would never see the day!
The Jeep runs and now it can now be happy for the rest of its life
I bet the new owner took great care of it
It runs like a champ
OMG! SHE FINALLY LIVES!
Good Job Kyle
Not a bad looking jeep hope it got a new home
I remember when Kyle made the first video on this years ago, time flies lol
Wow after does updates it's working well
I loved that when you said nice fox body as it drove by,man thats what i would have said if i was there to see that mustang drive by.
It working great!
Only Saabkyle04 can bring a car back to life. "LoL" Great Video of the 2000 Jeep. I Hope the new Owner takes great care of it.
i love these 'old school' saabkyle 04 vids
Awesome. When the transmission was replaced was it a new or rebuilt?
I love the sound of those old jeeps. wish they stuck with the big straight 6s
7:59 nice sounding engine
Maybe it transmission sound lol
Yea it sounds good now
Yeah my 04 I had made that same sound
ahh nice to see it running:)
You need to get gas! lol I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with over 180,000 miles on it.. LOVE it!!! I am thinking about buying a new on in about a year or so.. Not a 2014 however, they are having so many issues with that one!!
I like that Jeep
3:12 hahaha that was the best Kyle.
Yay!I am proud because the Jeep has finally got the demon away
I wonder where this Jeep is at right now, and how it’s been running.
But if the neutral safety switch was bad wouldn't it just click and when you played around with the gear shifter it would start that sounds more like a bad fuel pump or also a lot of jeeps have problems when they get older with not firing
I remember, it sounded like it was begging you to kill it! lol Glad to see it running.
I love your reviews man fucking awesome!!
@Projective You need to watch the old videos of this Jeep. When it was first repoed, it had a blown engine thanks to the people neglecting it like crazy and not changing the oil. Plus it was full of trash. It's had nothing but careless owners and that's probably why the trans went bad too. This 4.0 L Inline 6 is a bulletproof engine if well cared for. Very reliable and will last forever. Heck it even started when it was blown! Now THAT is quality. You really can't kill these Jeeps.
ITS ALIVE!!! ITS ALIVE!!!!!
The signature note from my str-6 is squeak squeak squeak pow squeak then it stalls. and we replaced the cam shaft censor and it runs great now
