Quick trick I use for blending. If you don’t do this have you tried? I promise it helps a lot! Links to tools seen on the channel available in the links below. linktr.ee/olie...
It absolutely can be with 75% of colors. In the summer when it’s nice and hot I spray most colors wet on wet coverage. It’s just not as quick to dry in the winter months so I spray them individually until it warms back up. It can run on ya and it’s no fun to fix when that happens.
Very nice job there Joel you make it look so easy but I know that it isn't with these course metallics as they can go blotchy if you aren't careful but the basecoat blender (aka wet bed, clear base and clear binder, so many names😆) helps no end. If you get time it would be great to see how you repair small dents using body filler as this along with the blocking work is my weak point, thanks for sharing🙏🙏👍John UK
This has helped me out. My question I’ve been wanting to ask, is I have a hell of a time getting ultra 9k base cleaned out of my gun. How do you clean your guns?
Straight water in a pump sprayer. Then quick blast with naked gun. We have a gun wash as well so after that I toss them in to at and wipe them down with a microfiber.
I just drop a few lbs. the lower you go the bigger the droplet which for me doesn’t help me smooth anything out. It’s really however works best for you though!
Good tricks will use them
Real nice blends and final result💥💯
I was at a place that was convinced 9000 was a 1.5 coat system. I was never trained in it, mainly used solvent, but I did do small things with the 9k.

What does the clear base step consist of? What r spraying in that step.
Is all base coat blender clear base. I use awl grip and my base coat blender is milky looking
New black widow?
How far do you drop your pressure on your control coat? I use a sata 5500 hvlp 1.4 I on the boats I spray at 22-23 psi. Would I just drop to 20?

Your clear bascoat, is it just 9020? And also do u reduce it?
Yes just 9020 and I reduced it 15-20%
@olie_olie_paintz Awesome ty. I used your 50/50 trick with the 9020, for bright silvers today, to hide the blend. Worked amazing man. Ty again.
@justinthompson9965 of course my dude! 🍻
15-20? Of U9R1? Dayum my rep told me to use 10 but I found it wont lay wt enough
Why do you do the blender first and then the color?
Gives you a nice even surface to start from.
@@olie_olie_paintz I’ll have to try that on a spot in on a boat.
Too bad the customer did not want to fix the door dent.
There’s dents all over it anyway. Just is how it is unfortunately
