Thanks for the video, came here after watching the new Black Widow review. In that video you mentioned potential air supply issues for the home DIY, and also that you may be making a video or series on an optimum home set up for the DIY guy. Is this something you are planning to do in the future, or have I overlooked it somehow? The garage type videos (something we all can relate to) seem to get a lot of attention on other channels, and you explain things very nicely. It would be interesting to see how someone with your talent and experience would go about setting up a garage / shed from scratch, fans, walls, air source, tools etc to do personal jobs. Thanks

132fab has caster spacers to raise the box higher.

I still have my first devillbiss guns as well, a two gun starting line set with a primer gun 1.7 and a E-09 with a 1.3 that I used for single stage or base and a GTI pro for clear and they all still work fine. Devillbiss Manufactures quality products and time to upgrade, so 2 years ago I invested $1,008 Canadian in a Digital DV1 limited Edition black base gun kit, comes with the B2 plus cap and includes a D kups adapter and 3 nozzles 1.2,1 3, 1.4, I'm retired now and don't need to work, so I pick a couple of very cool restoration projects a year that I can enjoy ,have fun, and chill. But I comple agree with everything you described. It's the best all-around gun you will find bar non. The only thing I could add would be don't waste your money buying both guns. The base coat and clear coat versions are identical. The only difference between them are the caps. Buy the base gun it's a couple hundred cheaper, and order the C2 PLUS clear coat cap, I actually ordered both clear caps and paid $196. Each Canadian for mine and the C2 plus is fast and lays clear like glass buddy. Don't buy the C1 cap for clear it sprays light and slow, just like the B2 cap. Side by side comparison of the C1 and B2 they look and measure identical.

HF if running a deal on certain Hercules cordless tools. I got this rotary polisher $89.99 and 1/2" long shaft impact $159.99 for $99.00 with the deal 2 tools for $99. I even got 2 8Ah batteries for $99, so it was buy 1 get 1 free. Deal is still running, but I don't know for how much longer. I hope to get another 8Ah battery and 20V Brushless Cordless 1/4 in. Compact 3-Speed Impact Driver if they come back in stock before the deal ends.

It would nice to see a review on the USA made C.A. Technologies spray guns like the Cat-X , Jaguar 300H HVLP or the Techline T3.

I worked with co-extrusion of Korad over ABS plastic and had to do long-term performance testing at extreme temperature variations, chemical resistance, and UV resistance. Try a test with a layer of this with black paint over it and then use a heat gun to a surface temperature of 150 F or so. See if it softens or expands too much. Then freeze the piece in the freezer with some dry ice and see if it flexes with the paint.

What about adhesion under it as well as over it? What about heat and col dimensional stability, especially with black paint? Chemical resistance? As an engineer I am somewhat familiar with UV resistant plastics such as Korad. used as a copolymer co-extruded with ABS plastic and had to perform durability testing.

Man it must be nice to have a job where you can be relaxed and have enough time to make CZcams content. I was a painter for 27/8 years and about 20 of those years I worked flat rate like an animal, knocking out 2-300 hours a week with no prepper, no help at all. I didn’t have time to take a leak let alone make videos! If I took a lunch break it was lumping something down while I mixed paint lol Free guns are nice and all, and I do like some Devilbiss guns even though I was mostly a Sata (or whatever worked guy). I’d use that DV1 clear gun as a hammer though before I died on every job no matter how nice it sprayed. Nice “Diy” home garage gun if you’re willing to part with that much $ for one

We use UV for a lot of smaller repairs, the UV coarse putty works amazingly however the UV primer sometimes doesn’t set correctly and we’ve had a few warranty issues in the last year even with curing for 10 plus minutes a panel with the lamp.

I have all three DV1 guns and I use to say the same thing about the DV1-B being the best base coat gun out there especially for pearls and metallics. Until I bought the ANI 200 Skull Edition that comes with digital manometer, WP, HVLP, & Clear air caps. It is even better, with a wider fan while being faster

Hi Joel, that toolbox looks amazing and it's huge!! I wish I had the space for something like that in my little workshop but you have more drawer space in this one with the upper chest. As you know I'm just a hobby/diy painter and while my paint finishes aren't to bad as you've seen on my little channel what I still struggle with is my filler and block work, no matter how hard I try to repair small dents I can still see where they were, it's either to low or I can still see the edges of my filler I just can't seem to feather them out properly, maybe you could do a video sometime on filler work that would be great👍 Thanks Joel👌👍John UK

Been a sata guy for over 20 years and have used other guns I just got the dv1 clear and I'm super impressed by the feel and controll of this gun. I spray ppg water with hs clears and it's a major difference in clear applications very user friendly.

Their prices have gone up…… soooo they can keep em now, I’ll stick with the overpriced Sata’s since I’m a spray gun snob lol. Maybe a new Sagola or DV1….🤷🏻‍♂️ I will say I am pretty impressed though with the aeropro a610 for the $ even though it reminds me of an Iwata W400 which I never really cared for. It works well for what I picked it up for though P.S. I just got done typing my comment right before you summed up my feelings about the Iwata’s!!! I had to hit edit and come back😂 That’s great 🙌🏻

You can use the Flex 3401 43/8 backplate on the Hercules for even better performance 😂😂. For 100$ it’s a great beginners or backup option. Nice video

will the C2 air cap help the first dv1 clear coat gun and whats the best pressure with the C1 air cap i cannot find the sweet spot still too much orange peel for me and that job came out great keep up the good work thanks for any input

Nice job man. It’s interesting to hear you talk about struggling with these difficult coarse metallics and how to help lay it down. Watching CZcams painters usually seems like they never have issues but every body does every now and then. It’s how you deal with it that counts

Hi Joel, from a DIY/Hobby painters point of view I'm amazed how you get each substrate on without issues, the sealer, base and clear just looks perfect every time where I have to work for it to get a good finish but I recon a lot of that is down to having a good environment and booth to work in and of course the fact that you are a pro painter👌 I use solvent basecoat and I find that if I leave my last coat of base to fully flash off I find that my control coat feels gritty, the only way I can stop this is to do my control coat while the final coat of base is still wet, not sure if doing it this way is ok but I don't know how else to do it, I'm using slow reducer in my base🤔thanks for any advice Joel🙏🙏👍John UK

Who cares what graphics are on the gun? That's pure bullshit. Wait three years when you have to get a new battery for your DV-1's and DeVilbiss is going to charge you $125 to change the fucking battery which is insane. The new Series 2 Iwata is the same story. After 12 years they finally figured out to put a stop on the fan adjustment so that the pattern doesn't split and they finally figured out that it would be nice if the slots in the nozzle lined up with the gun body. 12 years and that's your giant advancement?

It's getting almost comical with all these gadget's and the new DV1 lol that gun is an okay base gun but we all know that thing is a turtle even with the c2 cap I don't know if it's I got this gun free from this company this week so I will say get one or vice versa Man when it comes down to it find a gun that fits your needs.. All this 20 Spray Guns is an absolute gimic on CZcams you know it and I know I know it I been Spaying cars for 30 years and if it still made since my Binks #7 would still be in play.. Come on man I'm looking for content not sales!!!!!
