100% sata recommends adjusting at the wall. Ive always done that even at the trigger it doesnt feel as heavy. Sprays sooo much better. Realistically every booth should have the regulators inside the booths
Very interesting video once again Joel, I do like these types of videos as you are showing just one thing rather that what some do by showing multiple tips and tricks all at once which can become confusing. I have seen other people saying that adjusting your pressure at the wall gives a better finish and makes you gun more efficient, I've never tried it before but now you are also saying it helps I'll give it a try, loving these vids Joel so keep them coming if you have time🙏👍John UK
Man, that is a slick finish. Definitely gonna try that. I spray high solid clears, and man always having trouble with orange peel. What do you do to get it to flow out better? Great video. Thanks for sharing
Always set pressure at wall. (As well wide open air micro adjustment on gun wide open along with high flow reg/gauge wide open) Also Pro Tip: take your spray hose out of the booth before bake cycle. (Even if using high quality hose that says it’s “safe to bake”)
@@olie_olie_paintz I was just being dramatic but I’m like 9 months to a year into the painting career and I learn a lot from you. Thank you for the informative videos.
Got any set up recommendations for the 1.3 4600? I’m using air dry clear mostly which is quite thin with a slow hardener and medium reducer but struggling to get it to flow on vertical surfaces.
It seems to me that all you're doing is lowering the air pressure. I use a true diaphragm regulator (RTI-MR-1) it the bottom of the gun and that avoids this issue completely. If you're using a cheater valve I can see some benefit but if you're using a true regulator this doesn't make any sense.
Most guys use a cheater valve. Reason being most diaphragm regulators are big and add more weight than they’re worth running at the gun. I have two RTI setups on either side of the booth with diaphragm regulators. Adjusting at the wall this way running everything wide open simply gives me true pressure and doesn’t add so much turbulence like just setting those to 80 and cheating it down. Two ways to skin the same cat. 🍻

great video mate 👍
Love the intro brother 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Appreciate it man! Definitely happy with it!
Hello Sir, what air cap are you running for your 4600 in this video?
Titania pro
What brand/model is your fresh air mask?
3m versaflo tr800
Going to have to drop the 1.4 supernova I have for something more like this, I’m tired of the shoulder burns 😭
😂 they’re get for a flat finish but I can’t argue about the shoulder pain lmao
It depends on the clear you spray as well. Thicker clear more pressure thinner clear lesser pressure.
Turn the fluid wide open & the fan wide open & then turn the fan about 1 and a half turns in at 29 psi.
@olie_olie_paintz does the titaina cap have a big fan pattern like the iwata

Turn your air pressure down! I spray my air dry at 23-25 psi. Doesn’t take much pressure to break thin clears up!
