Bet he rethinks that deal after standing for six hours in line at Disneyland.
wes c LOL
Haha. Solid. True lol
You're not right with God😂😂😂
And still Max's all there credit cards out. What a waste.
wes c lmfao
Feel like he could have easily got more than 5 if he pushed for it
He said 5K was fair. Fair is fair.
I think he would’ve got 6,000 maybe more , from the 500$ drop but still another 1,000 still something , or just said lowest I can do 6500 or I’m taking home and he might just bought it lol
I was thinking at 6
John Rope pretty much this. Everything on camera has already been done and decided beforehand
He should sell it in Japan. It's worth more for the right buyer and at auction in Japan it will go through the roof.
I’d like to sell this piece of history my grandfather almost died getting to take my kids to Disney land
The feels
James Bailey he said it was collected after the battle
@@sooshi4560 He still easily could have died before the battle ended
But like, why did the Americans have to destroy all the Samurai swords after WWII, they destroyed/stole history
@@sooshi4560 aka stolen
Cmon man your grandfather passed it down to you why you gotta be like that
@IA - 09ZZ - Turner Fenton SS (2572) Yeah
He's a greedy hoar
It feels like its Scripted
Jxster I’m sure his grandfather wouldn’t have mind. He spent it not for himself but his family.
I know right
Let me call my buddy, he's an actual ninja.
Stacking Benjies ha ha good one
Stacking Benjies In fact he's standing right behind you
@@daninbox I'm afraid to look. I really hope you're joking.
My buddy lived in the early 1800's hes right across the street let me give him a call.
@@yeeeeet3252 Yeah he knows everything about the holy grails of ninja weaponry.
Mike Yamakasi is my second favorite after Rebecca Romney in terms of experts here.
He's better than Rebecca.
******IF I HAD TO CHOOSE WHICH ONE TO F*CK IT WOULD BE YAMAKASI. THAT VOICE IS JUST SPOT ON!******
Totally agree. He's a master at his craft. So knowledgeable. I love it
Billy Big Bollocks if only he actually spelt his last name right though? “Yamakasi” come on
I think hes better. He seems much wiser. I bet if she wasn't a girl, people would beg the difference.
"I'm looking for 8 thousand"
Let Lemme give a buddy of mine a call, I'll tell him what you've just asked for, and he will surprisingly estimate anything up to that number.
"Yeah I'm okay with that"
I can give you like 10$ bucks!
Of course that what they do! But if I had something that I think was worth of great value I would ask them to “bring in your expert” and let him make the appraisal first. Then I’d see if it would be around the amount I want.
LOL

"My Grampa risked his life in WW II and brought this back. Can I take my family on a vacation instead of passing down and showing my kids and grandkids some tangible world history they can't learn from a book or a computer?"
Kids gonna break it and it becomes useless..
They can always show them this video
A little judgemental, don't you think
but.. you can get some pictures of anything within seconds on a computer.
maybe show your kids pieces of history that wasn't stolen from their mainland...
i love the fineness and the precision and level of detail with the way the wood has been carved and the intricacy of the silk and the gold inlays
Am I the only person who enjoys the way he disassemble samurai swords? It's so cool
I like the way Mike takes the handles off
@@scotthamp384 It's cool because it's the traditional way that the actual Samurai would have disassembled their swords. If you see enough episodes with Mike, he knows absolutely everything about how the blades are meant to be handled. He's my favorite expert on the show--even better than Rebecca and the coin guy.
That sword is historical artifact and he sell to go disneyland.. OMG!!
Yoyo Neen he’s dumb... sell historical for a Disney land that’s nothing but full of lines. If he really wants to sell it that badly then he should have kept pushing for more money but no he gave up easily for 5k.
Corey: "I deal with Samurai swords all the time" "Why's it made out of wood"
He was joking.
The real samurai sword dealer was the expert
Three times he said it was not a sword, but a scabbard...
He's saying it's the first time he's seen a wooden one despite dealing in the market
It's a tsunagi, a wooden replica to hold the fitting together while the actual blade is stored in shirasaya.
1:56 "Hey whats up CoOrrYy" lmao the voice crack
Plot twist: Those imitation coins were even older than they thought and worth more than if that had indeed been gold.
Even reproduction but still could be 100+ yo coin.
I love how the sword expert knows where, and how hard, to smack the sword to make it come apart. He's my favorite next to REBECCA.
When his kids are older: "Dad, where's that irreplaceable family heirloom samurai sword with the very rare secret coin slot?"
Father: "I sold it to take you to Disneyland."
Kids: "O.K. thanks for teaching us some values, Dad."
Made fool out of that guy, I cannot believe he agreed!!
Jayakrishnan Menon yeah plus it was from WWII from his grandfather he could’ve held that for 7 generations or less
He was a fool to trade such a nice piece for a weekend at disneyland ffs
I think Mike is 1 of the more straight up experts on this show. I don't think I have seen him much on the CZcams pawn stars scenes & it's probably because he's more honest than the others. Corey pulled another fast one with this holy trail item, and the guy should have got himself closer too 6000! I would have tried 2 deal with Mr. Kawasaki
I have 10 pounds of gold found on a pirate ship
Rick: best I can do is $100
And I'm taking a huge risk here
Well, it's just going to sit around the shop for months and take up space.
“50$ and a half eaten McGriddle is the best I can do, and I’m taking a huge risk”
Is this real pirate gold. Or just some painted coins you made in your garage.
MyLeoIs RUDE deal!!!
I hate people that sell priceless items for a quick cash grab...
Money is all that matters for them
True True, that 5 grands seems not a big deal for him either as he’s spending it for a family pleasure, just a wicked excuse.
So easy giveup that I hate
Priceless? Lol its a useless 0bject
Even though it's priceless, I highly doubt people use it, it's probably just sitting in there house or offices, so why have something thats just sitting there when you can have some useful cash
Yeah. This stupid man doesn't worth the sword
“Let me call a buddy of mine, he trained in Japan’s finest dojo in the highest mountain. He’s an expert on samurai swords. Hang out for a few minutes”
Eh most Japanese dont like to lie so I prefer him over the other "experts"
Why would you never call Mike if a sword showed up in the shop. I learn so much from him. When is he getting his own show?
He had one last season but, it got CUT. Get it? Sword show...cut? Sorry.
@@OverlandOne it’s not like Hollywood tv, these guys are gonna get spin-off shows 🤣
I’d keep that for further generations, awesome item to have in possession
"My grandfather lost a leg fighting the Japanese man who this belonged to. I'm going to take the money and take my family to Disneyworld."
Mike Yamasaki’s voice cracked in 1:58
michelle mendez I was looking for this comment
Same
Why is a voice crack made a big deal everywhere? I never understood.
Barka Dog you'll learn when you grow up
Guy: This precious family heirloom has been in my family for generations, but I'll take 2 bucks
Corey: I'll give you 50 cents and a pack of gum
Guy: Deal.
😂😂😂
It's not even his heirloom. Stolen goods from the real family
Always good to watch Mike hit the handle / blade separately away from each other.
How can you go to a place like that with a sword like that ? I would apraise the sword for auction and it would definitly go higher than 8000$ !!
@Chomag Yep I really don't think 90% of the people who comment have clue one about what a pawn shop is.
You're a sword and auction expert, I assume... Buy and sell and make a lot of money yourself, eh?
Things don't always go well at auctions it could be valued really high but without the right buyer it's not gonna sell and it still costs U to put it in auction
He wants to be waiting in line at Disney Land as fast as possible
scripted. the deal has already been made. they were just acting
Love how the assessor and the customer always seem to come up with the same value. 🤣
My grandfather had one from WW2 and found a way to return it to the family in japan
I bet that's a nice surprise for the descendants of the fallen soldier.
Dam god bless ur grandfather
a lot of positive vibes in this vid. best show ever.
“the scabbard looks like wood maybe” lmao, I could have told you that
Priceless...absolutely priceless. If i had the cash id buy it and try to find the original owners family.
EXPERT: this is valued at $300,000
RICK: the best I can do is $10,000, and I’m taking a huge risk here
“Can you come up a little bit?” Corey- “Can you come down a little bit?” 😂😂👍🏻
“My Grandfather brought it back during WW2.”
He stole it
Survivors keepers, biotch
Like it or not, taking artifacts and memorabilia from a defeated country/nation/empire etc, is a thing that has happened for ages. Complaining about it isn't going to change it.
Ian Berry doesn’t mean you can’t do the right thing and return it to the original owners. With your rational, murders happen all the time, who’s to stop it.
theonejakespeed probably looted it from a Japanese soldier or they gave it to him out of respect which probably didn’t happen.
my grandfather had 2 samurai swords.
This dude really about to sell an heirloom for one week of mimosas lol
$5,000 probably wont even cover the full expense of taking a family to disneyworld hahaha
They always say take my family on a nice vacation when it's really to catch up on delinquent debts and over due credit cards...
Great expert. Excellent explanation.
Chumlee gets arrested
Police officer: Sir the bail is $5000
Rick: sorry im taking a huge risk here the best I could do is $100
Wish that was in my family & passed down to me. It would've never been for sale. Family heirlooms are NOT FOR SALE. That was a cool sword.
It only became HIS families heirloom in the late 40’s. It was another family’s for longer, and then was stolen.
For real they be telling their appraisal buddies what the customer was asking for.
I love it when the sell gets all excited to hear the retail price and then is offered much, much less but hey there at a pawn shop and the sellers don't have to accept the offers.
Imagine owing a sword that’s been in your family for 500 years only for a US solder to take it and then their grandkids to sell it in a realty tv pawn show
I guess that’s a risk you take when you, ya know….BOMB Pearl Harbor!
Guy: I have Mozart's skull
Rick: I'll give you 2 dollars for it
Let me call in my buddy, he's an expert on human skulls.
*Jeffery Dahmer walks in*
Woah that’s a huge risk
More Like " WTF are you doing carrying around a human skull!"

Real name of this show:
"What do you mean? Respect and appreciation? Money is what I need!"
At least those who buy these treasures will really get to appreciate them.
There is a good reason why some things are rare to find, after all.
Cool! I hope that his family enjoyed the vacation.
Giving up a family heirloom just like that! Wow 😳
1:57 Whats up "CoRy"
I knew I wasnt the only one that heard that 😂😂
Mr. Brown swung that sword famously
great family man....salute u...have a nice vacation
That was a good episode that rare item episodes are fun
Cashier: Your total will be $46.50
Rick: i dunno, I’m taking a HUGE risk here. Mind having a buddy come in and take a look at it?
Wakisashi or wakizashi a small type of sword used with a katana
Such an awesome sword.
Looks really cool
*Ah, Selling the family heirlooms I see.*
Not his family. The original Families heirloom .
- I'm looking to get 8K for it.
- Do you know much about it at all?
- My grandpa gave it to me.
4:19 the seller was about to walk away 🤣
The first sword I owned I had found at a garage sale for $15 and sold it to Mike Yamasaki for $1,750. Met him down at the Tampa show in 2013 but he didn't attend the 2017 show or the Atlanta show. Would really like to chat with him about swords some more.
1:57 dude is still having voice cracks lmao
LOOOLLLLLLLL WASSUP COoREY
I would not have selled it For a theme park vacation🤦🏻♂️
*sold
Well either he passed it down and just collected but now a days we need money to do stuff he doesn’t have you use for it other than sentimental and appreciate but he had to do what was best
Want to see you in his situation.
@Hammer_of_creation no one uses "lame" anymore
@Hammer_of_creation lame
Learnt something new from this video, these "secret coin pockets" arnt ever talked about let alone heard of
1:57 that voice crack tho
Grandfather: fights in ww2, brings artifact of great importance in human life, passes said artifact to grandson as he believe he will understand its value. Grandson: “ I wANt tO gO TO DiSNEYlAnd” Man your kids will be up next in the premium Snapchat craze.
"Taking my family to a theme park in Florida!"
Writers had to find another term for Walt Disney world because of copyrights?
KainAbyss idk why , Disney own history channel
Oh the days before covid. Some good times
Never sell these family jewels. Historic and so valuable.
0:07
"Why isit made out of wood?"
"I mean it wooden do a lot of damage"
Hold on a minute I will call Kenshin.
Customer: OK
As someone who enjoys history there is no way I would sell that unless I was desperate for money. And taking the family on a vacation would not be a good reason for me to do it.
Walk out the pawn shop with 5k, then walk into the casino. Boom! Vacation 😂
Shocker. It’s worth exactly what he wanted. And y’all say it isn’t rigged
right. luck isnt a real thing. if i were to flip a coin, say its gonna land on heads. and then it lands on heads, it must be rigged right?
Maybe the guy knew what is worth ?
Went from Disney to six flags real quick
I wish full episodes were available in UK
In order for it to become big you just have to say "bangkai.!" In a cool way.
This dude is literally hawking a piece of history so he can take his family to Disneyland? Wow...
2:55 without context is hilarious 🤣🤣
The coin pocket I LOVE IT LEARNT SOMETHING NEW IF I GO JAPAN I WANT ONE WITH A COIN POCKET
Hopefully this lands in a museum.
Secret is..... I'm gonna offer you 8 bucks nd some magic beans
That made me laught 😂
@The Empress I bet the guy that appraised it would pay more for it...
Chumlee better give me my child support and I’ve been diagnosed with Ebola
Did Chum give you aids?
You know during the interview the guy said Disneyland but they were like nah, man. Say “theme park in Florida” 😂
"see you later," lol sounds like they met before
Things worth way more than 8k , let alone 5...
I could never sell something my grandfather brought back from WW2
@Philip Gibbs I'm sure his grandpa would be real proud...
I’m already smashed from taking a shot every time Corey told the owner he knows nothing about this sword.
Family should always top the list,
I miss samurai Jack
It’s so sad how these items have so much history, yet they are selling it to make a quick buck.
I'd almost want to keep it and hold on to it tbh that thing was awesome.
aww he is so sweet
I don't know anything about the sward...... I want $8,000 for it.
Poor guy.. he just want money..
He said it's from his grandfather he knew it was old
"I would like to sell this item" what is it? "I don't know" how much? "$8,000"
0:18 - "My grandfather brought the sword back from WW2"
*For brought read stole
Liberated
There goes that family trip to Florida lol 😂
Guy: I have this 10 grand greenback, you see how that worth?
Rick: Best I can do is 100
Never heard that joke before.....
He said, "AN EASY $8,000"....Would you take 4k
Exactly, I would have held my ground at $6.5k.
Perfect reason to stay in skool and do some lirening.
This is why u gotta make sure who u pass heirlooms to
