Pyramid Peak - Lake Tahoe, CA - Desolation Wilderness

Pyramid Peak is a great summit hike if you are in the Sacramento or Lake Tahoe areas, located in the Desolation Wilderness. Access via the Lyons Creek (Lyons Lake) Trailhead, and you can also see Sylvia Lake

Another approach is off Highway 50 near Twin Bridges. About 3 miles and 4000' of elevation gain. The big lake you saw from the summit is Lake Aloha. Thanks for the video.

"Overgrown"? Is it even a trail at that point? If not, that's just grown.
Interesting to see all the different approaches to Pyramid! I'll be scrambling straight up from Aloha to start the Crystal Range traverse next week.
