Looks like its just about time for an Obsessolation Wilderness loop! Love going up to Lake of the Woods to Aloha and back down thru Desolation Valley. Sooo much fun! See you out there!
I was just thinking about going up there the other day.
But I’m having to work so much lately. Haven’t been able to go.
And have been sick with flu.
Been years since I’ve done this hike. One of my all time favorites.
We always go in the warm months and jump into the bottom pool. And one of the pools on the way up.
Sad to see the burn though.
My knee is giving me grief lately as well. It’s tough getting old. 70 is around the corner for me.
But I’ll make it up there, eventually.
Thanks for the trip.
Hope you get some time off work soon and that your knee behaves
Thank you for showing us these beautiful landscapes, it is amazing and incredible. I can only imagine how it feels to be there alone, enjoying the scenery, having it all for yourself at that moment. Just spectacular! Thanks again and greetings from Serbia!

Seriously beautiful. I’m moving to S. Lake Tahoe 😎😂❤️
nice one!
Spectacular 😊
THanks Janet!
I run out of words to describe such beautiful scenery. Yes. Downhill would definitely be a problem for me too...although I would not tackle a climb like that either, even with the reward of such gorgeous landscape along the way. Thanks again for sharing.
glad you enjoyed it!
Phenomenal !!
thanks mate!
Beautiful site keep them videos rolling 👍🏼
will do!
I did this trail last before the Caldor fire. Looks a little different, still pretty. That whole hike is great. Thanks for sharing!

I can’t believe climates are changing
Great video. Horse Tail is beautiful. If yo haven't checked it out yet, Bassi falls over near Ice House is nice as well, and it's more accessible.
hmmm. thanks for the suggestion. We will have to check it out!
Bassi Falls is indeed awesome
I'm with Brie (sp?) on the knee trouble! Started in February and I still haven't been able to even get an MRI. Killed my plans for a TRT thru-hike this summer. I hope her knees get better soon!
Close it is Bri. Thanks for your concern and sorry to hear about your knee trouble.
Curious if you take bear spray on the hikes and biking? Thx!
Great video, exactly what I was looking for! A few of us are backpacking next week (June2-4) originally we were going to Dick Lake area and have the wilderness permits going out of Eagle Falls trailhead. I’ve seen some recent reviews that it’s still very snowy up there as well as parking lot closures at the trailhead. We were also looking at horsetail Falls and beyond as a backup. Would love to know if you have any current condition info back in the Dicks Lake area. Second question is do you have to go up and over horsetail Falls to get farther back in the wilderness or is the way to go around and not have to scramble those rocks with backpacks? Thanks!!
Yes there is... done multiple trips into Desolation via Pyramid Creek Trail! I have a video for Horsetail Falls Hiking Guide that shows the route to the left where you don't have any exposure.
Hey there, thanks for the response. I have not been up Dicks pass yet this spring so I don't have any beta on that area. In terms of the route up horsetails, yes there is a separate way around further away from the falls with less exposure but I reckon it would still be a small struggle with a bigger backpack on.
How does your drone work? Or is your GoPro on a stick?
It is a Gopro max (360 camera) on a stick
how many hours would you say it took you to get to the falls?
30 mins but I was going quickly. I would normally give this an hour
The only thing Matter is love, right
one could say that
if i was a tree, i want to be that little 1 next to the waterfall at 12:23.
for sure
