    Yeah, you're pretty much the only fix-it person I want to watch. Very relatable. (Favorite part -- "Don't cut these down. There's a reason."

    The pain is real! I really appreciated your tutorial and watching you attempt a trim definitely made me decide to just live with the aesthetic being more bunched at the bottom. 😂😂

    Loved your comment I BEAT YOU! I think had you first tied something to that loose string first like a pencil with tape and not lost it you would have been ok. But i give you credit for showing the mess you initially created and how you solved it.
    Only think funnier would have your wife YELLING AT YOU FOR SCREWING UP in the beginning LOLOL

    I can only wish that the process went so easily for me. Got the same shade and same brackets that are installed as yours are. The shade won't snap into place no matter what I do. Very frustrating.
    ** Update ** I finally got it to work after making a small correction. I initially installed the bracket screws horizontally, driving them into the face of the frame around the window. This, apparently, allows the top leg of the bracket to flex too much, and the shade would slide off the top clip when trying to rotate it into the bottom clip. Removed the screws and drove them up vertically into the top of the mounting bracket, making it much stiffer. This change allowed me to pop those puppies right into the brackets, no problem. Yay. While I'm typing, I'll sheepishly admit that I accidently installed one bracket upside down. Obviously, that shade wouldn't clip in, but it was an easy fix once I realized what I had done. I gave myself a "well, duh!" for that one..

    But you didn’t say if the blind frame was made of plastic or metal. Will the chop saw cut through a metal frame? I have an aluminum one that needs cutting.

    Thanks I needed this video. I will have to hang my blinds on the outer wood frame. May I ask what type of heating system you have the runs along the baseboard?

    • @dianaloma
      @dianaloma Před 8 měsíci

      I have the identical baseboard heating elements and they are the bane of my existence. They are in every room and keep "collapsing", impossible to keep them together with all the multiple pieces intact. Like a game of Jenga I can't win! Doesn't help when pets crash into them and they all collapse. So maybe do an instructional video on those?! :)

    Professional installer here you never want installed onto molding you will damage the molding, and when he was cutting the blind, he damaged the material and probably fixed it for the new shot

    Short comment: Where can the plastic handles be purchased???????
    Long comment: We installed these all throughout our house in the last three years. We have replaced almost all the downstairs windows with off the shelf new Pella windows. We then installed these Allen Roth cellular shades. At first we were really happy.
    Then the plastic pull down handle broke on our upstairs 42" cellular shade and the side plastic pieces fall out constantly due to poor fitment.
    -Lowes DOES NOT CARRY the plastic handles
    -The manufacturer DOES NOT CARRY them on their own website, at least not that I could find
    A Lowe's employee said that people come in EVERY DAY asking for replacement plastic handles.
    I would like to start paying these companies in a form of money that randomly breaks with no way to fix it, or becomes obsolete before they can deposit it so they can experience their business practices first hand :)
    Amazon has a bunch of inferior plastic options for sale that people say breaks within a few months because the plastic quality is inferior. Any suggestions?????
