I did a full playthrough on roguelite and Morgawse really carried my end game. I don't know about Merlin since I didn't get him yet, but yeah, she's really good. I paired her with Morgana for maximum control effects. In the end this was so powerful that I didn't have to rely on the "meta" strategies (which seem to consist in vanguard backstabs or mass inspire).

My personal favorite atm is Isolde. I gave her the teleport ring and it makes her very good. My #1 though is Guinevere; her having teleport and inspire is just a no brainer. Even on my run atm which I'm tyrant old faith she's in the neutral category of loyalty (I don't need her for loyalty bonuses, she's here for her utility). I got Morgawse but she takes a bit to get online so atm she goes on my honorable mention list.
Edit: The scroll that gets rid of one random bad trait is bugged atm in that the bad trait comes back after one mission. And Isolde comes in Act 2 (if you did everything right with Tristan) and when she appears she is wounded so she needs healing.
Guinevere was my go to for the Righteous Christian run through. Like you said Inspire and Teleport is an incredible combination that Morgawse lacks.

My experience with Isolde was quite different, I resurrected her at level 9 in my current playthrough and she was the only level 10 character on my team. I had to send her on errand quests because she was too high level to get exp from the quests I was doing at the time >< Totally agree on the rankings though, I wanted to recruit mom so bad on my tyrant OF playthrough but Merlin isn't only bonkers power-wise, but he's so much fun to play.
Nice. Maybe she's available at different times for different players.
@@SlanderedGaming Yeah probably depends on how fast you beeline Tristan's side quest. The item that allows you to res a character might also be RNG dependent, im not sure I never tested it out
Sages are great as long as you do not rush them in. Personally I prefer Guinivere, leaving Isolde for backup or maybe doing quests. Currently my team of Mordred, Guinivere, Boudicia and Merlin went into a mission to recruit sir Lancelot (Kay needs replacement at Round Table and Balan needs someone to compete with) while being one-two levels below recommended level 14. Everything went well up until last battle where rushing Guinivere in went wrong and she even died. Now I would have to replay whole mission tomorrow - because mid-mission saves are still bugged and lose Keeper of Excalibur trait from Mordred😒
Guinevere is a fantastic option when used properly. I hope they patch the Keeper of Excalibur trait soon.
I've recruited Tristan and at one point he put his Lady Isolde in the crypt. Since I've been playing rightful Christian she was incompatible with my other heroes and religion, and I don't use sages to begin with. So I just have left here there. After few missions she was available to recruit in the hero waiting queue, with 1 hp. No idea if that's how it supposed to go. Bug? Feature?
You should've received an item that allowed you to revive one person from the Crypt and then used it on her. Unless they have patched it where that automatically happens.
On very hard I don't see any use for Morgawse, even if we don't mention the fact that skipping Merlin is an insane drawback or her sober trait... Isolde and Guinevere, on the other hand, are both great in their own ways.
On Very Hard I consider crowd control even more important so I think she's useful on harder difficulties. Why do you see her as useless?
Even though he is usually presented as neutral I consider Merlin to be a good guy and prefer to use Morgawse on a Tyrant run. Otherwise I agree Merlin is incredible so it's really hard to let him go.
@@SlanderedGaming Well, not entirely useless, rather much less viable than alternatives. Most of the time I don't need much control to successfully survive the first turn and on the second turn I prefer compositions that enable high burst damage. Bless and Inspire are both extremely good for that and Morgawse lacks them both. I'm in the middle of 4th act of the game now and just I don't see any team compositions where I would take her over Isolde or Guinevere. Maybe I'll change my mind during the next playthrough, where I plan to go for christian tyrant instead of old-faith righteous path I'm playing now.
The problem with morgawse is you either choose her or Merlin, and imho Merlin is simply a better Choise. Merlin and Faery knight kicks ass, its like a sin not recruiting them.
Merlin is AMAZING I 100% agree.
