    i got the jeep Latitude edition. its a fun car and its super easy to get around downtown because its a smaller Jeep. mine is only FWD but its still has that rugged suspension. Ive been getting 25.4 mpg and i thinks its a good everyday car that has that ability to go on rugged roads.

    I've got a 2016 Renegade Limited that I absolutely love. Only had it two weeks but I'm having fun with it, don't want to really try anything insane off-road with it but it's nice to know I can go down some mild dirt and gravel trails and have some fun.

    • @ianabrams1704
      @ianabrams1704 Před 7 lety +2

      Byron Stahlmann put some General Altimax Arctic on it and it's a tank, even before I switched the tires it did pretty good in the snow when I put it in snow mode and drive with some common sense. Five months with it now and I still love it.

      Dam, so do you think I should buy a 5.9 Durango or put a 3k downpayment on a 2016 Renigade ? 😐 i know the main market for this car is young people for driving to work, school, maybe the beach. Will the v8 durango do much better ? Im guessing they should do about the same since the Renegade is a short wheelbase vehicle

    I have a 2015 Sport with the 2.4 9speed combo. I put in the K&N filter that fits the factory housing. Average with city and highway split almost 50/50, I get 27 mpg. Having said that, the 4x4 will get you out of every situation. As a Sport, it's about an inch or so lower than the Trailhawk, but taller than the front wheel drive. It is no exaggeration, I will drive this until it is no longer roadworthy. You will have to pull this out of my dead, clammy hands. Your review is quite spot on.

    Love mine! You forgot the Bigfoot on the back hatch window! I also have the side radar warning system for both left and right sides of the Jeep, back up screen, which you didn't mention, and I have the two removable sun roofs. The front also being an electric automatic opening sky light. I was the first in the country to have that feature on the Renegade. I ordered it before they even started producing it! Yes, I did have to wait longer for it to be shipped over from Italy where they make them. On the highway, I find myself easily getting up to 95-100 mph! It drives really smooth so I do have to watch myself. It's my retirement car and I love it! Low enough for a 5' shorty like me to easily get into with ease. That was a selling point for me too. I wasn't able to climb up into the other more popular Jeeps because of their height off the ground. I needed an extra step to climb into them. I love the fact that I no longer bump the parking curbs pulling into a parking space since the Renegade is high enough off the ground to clear them. It's awesome for the Chicago winters too. It's fun to drive on a hot summer day with the windows down, and the top open. My only regret was not adding a cd player. I assumed it came with it. I do have Sirius XM so I'm not missing it at all.

    I'm an XJ 5-speed 4.0 owner. I test drove this Trailhawk at the auto show and was impressed by the interior and handling. I would consider buying one if they built a manual transmission Trailhawk. The 9 speed simply has too many issues. Also it is as much as a Wrangler.

    Real tough to go for this over something like a Subaru XV Crosstrek (which is what I bought for my daughter and I drive for business trips). I was just under $23k with fees and taxes - it doesn't have a heated steering wheel or the nice infotainment system but if I'd wanted a few more options I could have still spent less than the Jeep. I will say this though the Jeep has lots of nice features and their build quality has really stepped up. I'd consider the Renegade again if I were buying another small SUV/Crossover that has 4WD/AWD. The Jeep might be better for real offroad use too. I get above 34MPG on the Crosstrek too by the way (sometimes as high as 42MPG).

    WOW!!!! 😀👏🏼 That was so cool, man! Next request is a BMW M2. You can review it as soon as it comes on sale. After it does, you can find the appropriate Wednesday to post the review. Otherwise, new car reviews, like the 2016 Charger you said you would review on your March 18th Weekly Update video next Wednesday, are on your mind. Like I said, I'm a big car fan like you because I got fed up with them. Good job! 👍🏼😎 Also, the OSS you used is now on my list of my favorite NCS songs. Next OSSs should be Stardust by T & Sugah and Forces by Jim Yosef (unless you used it already). 🙂 I LOVE IT!!

    One thing reviewers seldom mention (and granted it would take time to look into for every model vehicle and would vary by time of year and location) when saying the Renegade's get pricey in the higher trims is, unlike some brands, many Jeep models can be had at substantial discounts, particularly if you are smart about when you buy (people are thinking about buying 4wd suv's less in summer, for instance). In my area 98% of what you are going to find are Latitude models but at the local dealer I could purchase a pretty loaded Latitude for $6700 off msrp, roughly $21k. That's with the upgraded touchscreen, keyless entry and start, heated seats/steering wheel/wipers, auto wipers and headlights, etc. A person on one of the forums just purchased a base Trailhawk model for under $20k. You're thus getting a loaded Renegade with a MUCH more capable awd system for roughly the same price you are going to get a stripper model awd HR-V that doesn't even come with roof rails (or seats that go back far enough for taller drivers).

  • @f2lo2
    @f2lo2 Před 8 lety +5

    What about its reliability? I've heard many complains from people who bought it in 2014 and at the beginning 2015. Later it's difficult to say if cars are too new or Fiat has improved some issues (Fiat is producing Renegade).

    In this review you didn't cover any of the 4x4 greatness of this little jeep! The price of the Trailhawk model is more expensive, but you get bigger tires, an extra full size spare on the upgraded rim, stiffer suspension, locking rear diff, hill decent control, terrain management system, Jeep Active Drive crawl gear, tow hooks, skid plates on the transfer case, front suspension and fuel tank. Plus all the upgraded interior features you talked about. This trailhawk trim is a way more capable 4x4 than any other CUV and it still drives like a car for great on road.

  • @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan
    @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan Před 4 měsíci

    It's definitely a decent choice in this segment~ Defintiely very different since you can take it offroading. The two main problems are the engine and transmission. The 2.4L Tigershark Multiair 4 cylinder is known for being pretty problematic from what I heard and it's not very reliable. Pair that engine with the ZF 9-speed which for some reason has been tuned to feel almost like a 4 or 5 speed automatic and you get a vehicle that could be great, but those two things really hamper the desire.

    In the fall of 2017 I purchased a new 2017 Jeep Renegade from a dealer in Anchorage Alaska. I live in a remote Alaskan town with the closest mechanic over 100 miles away - in Canada. I made it clear to the dealer I needed a reliable, sturdy vehicle. The car was fine until the temperature dropped below 20F then it would start - and immediately stall with a noticeable smell of gas. I called the dealer and he recommended using Heet and blamed the bad gas in the town. Heet did nothing and no other car is having the same problem. The dealer is over 700 miles away and I can't have the car towed back. There's no one to work on it here and the dealer is unwilling to do anything more. The car is a princess car - it'll only run if it's warm and sunny. Which means i'm walking to work at 20 below. Moral is don't buy Jeep and don't buy a Jeep Renegade. As soon as possible I'm taking it to another town to trade it in for a Japanese or Korean car. Something reliable.
