It's all geometry. The biggest two bars are the things that's causing it. That is bent trapiziams but both of them are same within the length. In the first choco packet put the first one upwards and second one downwards. It will leave a bonus if u do the opposite.

For those who don't already know the trick, here's the explanation :
The pieces are made in such a way that you can make two rectangles : a big one using the five pieces, and a small one using the four.
It's a visual illusion because the way they are placed makes you think the rectangles have the same dimensions, when they don't.

The trick works by spacing out the volume. By dividing the bar up and rearranging it, you are displacing enough chocolate to remove a whole chunk from the bar. Unfortunately although it seems that additional chocolate has been produced from thin air, it means that you have just as much chocolate as before.

  • CreepersTKOED
    CreepersTKOED Před 5 měsíci

For those wondering how this works, the area of the chocolate before putting it back in the box, is slightly larger then after, it shaves off jussssst enough so its not noticeable by the human eye, but is enough so it leaves you with a decent sized peace afterwards

Easy, you can see it in the middle at the beginning and and the chocolate is touching the sides. At the end, the chocolate doesn’t touch the sides and that piece is gone, therefore it can still fit as that piece is basically the empty space around the edges just placed differently + the other pieces are grouped closer together

This was debunked years ago. To see it very clearly: outline the size of the original chocolate (all 4 edges), now do the rearrange the chocolate and you'll notice that it has indeed gotten smaller
Edit: bruh chill I just wanted to explain the illusion...

Jeez. The person who said this probably just thought of the word “debunked”. They didn’t spend hours on the comment, they just probably used the word “debunked” without giving it a second thought. (What I’m trying to say is that they didn’t mean it as the exact definition, but it was the first word that fit what they were trying to say that popped in their head.)

Right of course cause ironic comedy was that bad wasn't it? If someone wanted to actually bully this guy they would've been straightforward as a bullet and say crap like "you're retarded", "do you have brain damage?", I mean the crap they're saying (example: incredible, you have surpassed us all) would be the equivalent of playing with you i.e teasing

The way you placed them was reversed from the original form plus if you see the gaps in the original form, there aren’t any gaps when you get the “bonus” piece of chocolate. Plus, you didn’t make the “extra” chocolate, the company did.

If you look close enough, the puzzle that was below the wrapper is a bit smaller than the actual chocolate bar. The extra space is the exact size of the “BONUS!” chocolate just in a different shape. The rest is just to make a puzzle out of the other pieces. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I think it’s because the brown outline of the word chocolate isn’t at the edge of the packaging, and it leaves just enough white space on each side to not be noticeable, but for the gold wrapper to cover it all and all the chocolate fits.

Step 1. Get this chocolate bar.
    Step 2. Place on paper
Step 3. Draw line around the shapes.
Step 4. Take out and set apart bonus piece.
Step 5. Fit remaining pieces together into the new bar.
    Step 6. Melt pieces together.
Step 7. Cut bar according to the lines from step 3
Now repeat from step 4 for infinite chocolate. You’re welcome.

The way they did this is because the way you move the pieces. If you were to change where the pieces are facing you can change the volume it takes up. This is actually quite easy to understand hopes this answers your question.

Get some calipers or ruler to measure before and after. You'll see the "after" is shorter. The rearranged set is shorter by the same amount the "bonus" piece takes up
