I have this watch and love it! Great review!
You are very much appreciated, Jeff! Thank you for your comment and enjoy this beauty! 😍
With only 4 long form videos and 1K subs, you are going places my friend! Love your humour and the mild antics in your video, liked and subbed! Keep it up!
Not gon lie, my eyes watered a bit reading your comment 🥲 THANK YOU, MAN! New vid soon 🫶
@@wristviberAw man, I so know the feeling! Being on YT is a tough psychological game, my own mind is my worst enemy!
But what really helped me was when I found out that out of 100 million channels, only 10% have 1K subs or more. That really gave me persepctive.
The fact that you got it in 4 vids says a lot. You're going to make it in YT here. It's a given. I'll be watching your progress closely.
I've also been dragging my ass a bit, but new vid coming soon as well. Best of luck to you!
Indeed! It is a mind game for sure. Just gotta push though. May the views be ever in your favor 😄@@GavinKohAquascaping
Excellent review my man! Great videography, editing, and a gorgeous watch to boot. You've got yourself a new sub.
Thanks a lot mate! Sub right back at you! 🫶
@@wristviber Thanks mate!
My man, your videos are quality!
I freaking appreciate that brother! Thank you! 🫶
I saw this at a boutique yesterday, searched it on CZcams and your video came up. After seeing it on the Uncle Seiko bracelet now I'm gonna have to go back to that boutique😂
I understand 😂 The uncle Seiko really does elevate the watch soo much! Let me know if you decide to get it! 😍
I have the spb335 bought it over a year ago and I’ve warm pretty much every day and it’s an amazing watch for sure.
Love this so much considering the PVD option as well
Hell yeah mate!
I got a King Turtle Manta Ray 2020 Special Edition. Apart from the not-so-accurate movement, I have no complaints about it. I am using it as my daily watch and bumped this beauty onto various materials more than 100 times for sure but luckily this watch didn't show any scratch marks till now (touch-wood). I wear this beauty with 1 IWatch style blue silicon strap and 1 brown leather strap.
Nice! You can’t beat the king turtle. An absolute classic. Timeless in every way. Enjoy it. And thanks for watching and for your comment 🫶
had mine for about a month and am loving it, runs about +4 per day. ordered an uncle seiko oyster
You have gotten lucky as well I see 😍 It was hard for me to choose between the oyster and the z199. But I know it's gon look and feel amazing. Congrats with it man!
Great review/ Cheers
Cheers brother! Thanks for watching 🫶
Mine arrived two days ago! Just ordered the uncle Seiko oyster style bracelet for it… super excited!
Ey man massiv congrats on the new watch! And great choise with the uncle Seiko! Such a key upgrade! It was hard for me to choose between the oyster and the z199. I am excited for you. Enjoy it my friend 😍🙌
@@wristviber thanks man! Gotta say one thing that has been a tiny bit disappointing is the lume. This is my first Seiko and I’d heard so much and was really expecting it to be a torch. Don’t get me wrong it’s pretty decent but the lume pip isn’t even as bright as my Orient Mako II.
@thezeroconditional2287 Oh yeah okay. Personally, I am not the biggest lume guy out there. I know many collectors live for the lume. So for me, the lumebrite is more than enough. But I know people do tend to hype it up maybe a bit too much 😆
For me the one black dial diver I end up wearing everyday that I've had for a year now is the SNE573 solardiver, now on a islander oyster style bracelet with solid end links and screwed links and the machining that perfectly lines up with the case finnishing, been running around +1s/month and the bezzle action is unbeatable to me, really solid and hard to turn, especially when the watch isn't warmed up
Ey man the SNE573 is amazing! I own the 569 and you just can’t beat the accuracy and the conviniant grab and go functionality of a solar. Also the size is just so damn charming.
And you choose the perfect upgrade for the bracelet. Enjoy it my friend! And thank you comment! 🙌
I loved everything about this watch. I had mine on a uncle seiko oyster and an olongapo band. The thing I struggled with was my movement. It had huge variations in accuracy. With the 70hr power reserve, if I took mine off for half a day it would start running -15+ sec a day. If I wore in non-stop it would run about -5. But it would shift a lot. I ended up letting it go but I really miss it. I might try again and hope for a better movement in mine.
Ah yeah I understand... You might have to try again 😅 How was uncle's oyster feeling on the 317? I considered it a lot as well🙂
Hi, brilliant review, and to see it on bracelet is even harder to find on CZcams so kudos for that. Question……how does this case wear? I notice the case isn’t as cushioned as say the turtle or the Willard and the case looks pretty flat? Does it conform to the wrist? I have a 6.5 inch wrist.
Nice watch. Seiko does a great job.
CZcamsrs should consider the SPB 383 black GMT that came out in 2023 if in the market at this price range. This is a fantastic watch that I also own. I put a black rubber strap on it which I believe is an improvement to the overall look. Might want to check it out.
I was a bit reluctant to go for it first since I had the spb151 Captain Willard re issue, but I am glad I did get it! My first automatic was an skx007, it is still probably my favourite black diver, its a close call between the skx, the willard and the slim turtle.
The editing on the video is spot on though! Fair play :)
Thank you my friend!
I know what you mean. I had a mini turtle when I bought this guy which made it hard me me to justify this watch. But I am very glad I did pull the trigger.
The Captain Willard re-issue an amazing watch too. It is Such an iconic beast! Been thinking about it for a while, but I am sceptical about the size.
@@wristviber The willard is an awesome watch! My only complaint is: the spring bars sit fairly low between the lugs. So if you are wearing it on a rubber strap, it will sit very low. Making it look like it doesn’t belong on the watch.
@@superdad4324 For sure! Ah, that's a very good point. What are you wearing it on these days then? OEM?
@@wristviber The spb151: OEM bracelet or nato sometimes. I tried Uncle Seiko tire thread but it sat too low for my liking. I have tried a Z199 but the colour and the brushing of the endlink was significantly different to the case finishing of the watch. It just didn’t look right on it.
The slim turtle is mostly on a military green or grey nato, sometimes on a tyre thread from Uncle. I do really like your Z199 though!
@@superdad4324 Yeah it is triggering if the steel finishing doesn't match well. It is hard to go wrong with a nato 💪 When I got my first SKX I wore it on different natos everyday for over a year I think 😄
Well done!
Your comment hit me right in the heart. Thank you man! 🙏
I really have a love/hate (not really "hate") relationship with Seiko watches. The accuracy is just so awful. My 317 started out ok, but then kept slowing down. I opened it up and adjusted it, and it seemed ok for a while, but then the same thing happened, so I had to do it again. Now it's at about 8 seconds fast/day, which most people would say that's well within spec, but it just annoyed me. So I now wear a G Shock Mudmaster GWG 1000, which adjusts itself to the atomic clock every night at midnight. Sometimes I take the 317 out of the drawer, look at it longingly, and then gently put it back in the drawer, where it will probably sit forever keeping my other inaccurate Seikos company.
Great comment mate! And I get you 100%. I also tend to wear my g shock way more these days for the same reasons. I am sorry to hear that the 317 is suffering in a drawer though 😄
New video on the beloved classic G-shock DW5600 on Sunday btw 👌
Thanks for tuning in 🤝
8 seconds is great for a mass produced watch
@@daveLin104I would say so too 🤌 But still understand the frustration 😊
A casio mudmaster. I remember mine. Maybe the ugliest watch ever made. What's wrong with you lol. I get quartz is superior but dayum homie 🙄
Yep, same thing for my spb207, had it adjusted a bunch of times and finally have up and sent it to a watchmaker to check it, will see about the results
Super video igen :-).

I've been toying with the idea of buying the Seiko SPB383 (aka MM200 GMT) for MONTHS. I've looked at a lot of other videos about Seiko since then and I don't like any of them as much as this one. And now I'm, when I about to buy it I saw your video ... and I'm confused, because damn, that one is a beauty, too... Well, thank you...
Thanks for the vid! I’m thinking of getting this watch and buying the Uncle Seiko bracelets to match it. However, I noticed that the polishing/coating between the watch case & bracelet to be quite different. Has this been disorienting for you in your daily wear?
Hi mate!
Thank you for your comment!
I would highly recommend this piece and the bracelet. The finishing of the two products matches very well in my opinion. The bracelet is such a beautiful upgrade and I can't imagine it disappointing you! Cheers! 😃
Thanks for this nice video. Can you please tell me where you find the aftermarket bracelet?
You are very much welcome my freind. The bracelet is from Uncle Seiko and it is the z199. Unclestraps.com. Absolut greatest aftermarket bracelet imo. Thanks for watching and for your comment 🤝
good video man.
Thank you very much fam!
I am one of the unlucky people who got inaccurate 6r35 movment. Usually runs around +35 seconds a day. I rather wish to have more reliable and accurate movement than longer power reserve. Other than that spb317 is a nice looking diver.
Ah yeah, I hear you... Have you considered getting it regulated?
@@wristviber I went to seiko official service center in Seoul, Korea and all they did was demagentizing the watch. Didnt even bother to open the caseback. Bit dissapointing experience I would say.
Yeah, typical... The best bet would be to take it to an independent watchmaker to have it regulated. But still crazy that is needed for a +1000,- watch... @@stoic_student90
Are you able to provide the dial/crystal size for this watch? I can't find this measurement anywhere?
Sorry, Tom.. I am not sure of the exact mesurments, no :/
Will buy
Cheers to that! 😍
Just ordered one at a good price - will no doubt try a few different straps!
Congratz man! It’s not gonna disappoint you 😻
@@wristviber yep - it is great!
Excellent video and style Andreas! What is the weight of the watch with the uncle bracelet? Been thinking about that exact combo for quite a while now but worried it would bee too bulky
Thanks alot for your comment and the kind words my friend! The total weight comes in at 131 grams fitted to my wrist. I highly recommend the combo! Hope you allow yourself to pull the trigger 😄 Let me know if you do! 🙌
@@wristviberThank you! It’s surprisingly light then. I feel my trigger finger starting to itch…😄
PULL IT! 🤣@@intrigantti
I have the silver dial version, SPB333, and think the dimensions, weight and dial are perfect. I also really like the fact that Seiko FLATTENED out the back, so no "Wave Bump". Seiko, are you listening? You should do that for ALL of your ProSpex watches.
Right on fam! And i love the SPB333! Enjoy it in good health!
What is your favorite black diver?
this is my future watch purchase hopefully.. could you please share the shop and model for that strap? thanks for sharing this

Excited for you! Such a great piece. Wearing it right now 😄
Great video and great shots of this watch. Did you consider the 143 before you got the 317 ? I got the 143 and keep thinking of this as well 🙂
Hi mate!
Thanks a lot, man 😍
I had the 143 for a long time and I really loved that watch. The only reason why I sold it wasn't because of the 317, but because I got my hands on the new SJE093. I couldn't justify having two 62mas' in my collection. The 317 and the 143 co-existed in my collection for quite some time. So I would definitely say that there is a place for both watches in a collection. If they are both your type, you can't go wrong. They are super iconic and different in their own way.
Let me know if you decide to pull the trigger! 🤗
And thank you for watching! 🙂
@wristviber I love SJE don't think could justify the cost though. Is it as lot better than your 143 ? Do you prefer the 317 to the 143 ?
@@daveLin104 Yeah I don’t think the price reflect what you pay for with the SJE093. But the fact that it is limited does back it up a bit. Personally I am just too big of a fan boy of the 62mas and the SLA017 was my grail for a long time, so when Seiko dropped the SJE with what to me is better mesurments, I had to go for it.
Uff the 317 vs the 143 is a hard choise man… You are not the first person to ask this though question 😅 I would say it depends on your collection and what really called you. They are both amazing pieces and when it comes to stats, they are equally great. But personally I would go for the 317 if I could only choose one 🙏
@@daveLin104 Are tou considering changing out your 143 for the 317? 😊
@wristviber thanks for the reply 🙏 I love the SJE more than the 317 or 143 🤣. When I got the 143 I swapped constantly and ordered the 317 then called to cancel and change to the 143 😬.
I don't find the 143 wears amazing I think it's the thickness. It's a real chameleon of a watch as well, never expected it from a black/grey diver. It can look dull and boring and clunky in a bad way sometimes. Then other times in certain angles and lighting it looks fantastic amazing dial and not clunky can't understand it.
I do seem to be steering towards Hamilton field watches as well so think thats why the 143 seems thick.
What straps did you prefer on your 143?
this dude is JACKED
Too kind my guy 🫶
the watch is amazing
usually by the next morning the watch will be off by 10-20 seconds
Cheers mate! 😍
I’ve had five different Seikos with the 6R35 and not a single one ever stayed consistent for time. I have a timegrapher and each one was all over the place. From being fast one day to slow after a week and not by 2 or 3 sod. I’m talking from -10 to + 15 it drove me crazy. I just purchased a 1958 Laurel reinterpretation with the blue dial a stunning looker but another crap 6R35. I do love the look of the watch so I’m replacing the 6R with an NH35 I have regulated to almost chronometer specs but more importantly it is consistent. Seiko really screwed up with the 6R movements just to increase prices. There is nothing professional specifications about their Prospex watches certainly not the movement.
Very interesting and cool idea to mod your watch with the NH35! It is for sure an issue, yes. But I guess it comes down to what is important for you as a collector and what you a able to live with.
I would love a timegrapher myself because I do suspect that the accuracy might vary from day to day.
Congratz on the Laurel reinterpretation. Stunning watch indeed!
Thanks for your comment, Tom. Great points!
This has been my unfortunate experience as well. Own 4 watches with the 6R35 and some wks they're fast, some wks slow. And all are at the edge of accuracy specs or outside it. Demagnetizing had no change. Contrary I've owned 10 watches with 4Rs and all but one have been within 10 sec/day.
I agree that the 4Rs are more reliable indeed. I would even say that the 7S26 was more consistent with its accuracy than the 6R.@@4by_yotaguy373
@@wristviber Yup. Now I've only owned 3 watches with the 7S26 and mine weren't more accurate than my 6Rs, but the 4Rs and 7Ss were all consistent. This is frustrating when all my current favorite watches come with the 6R movement. 😐
Exactly... Only option is to hope for a good version or get it regulated.. I feel your pain xD @@4by_yotaguy373
I hate you … I’ve already got the mini turtle, bought the captain Willard last year. And now I can see myself picking up the slim turtle!
Hahaha my bad mate. But to ease your mind a little bit, I did the exact same thing 🤣Used to note like turtles. Got a mini turtle and everything changed...
How did you get the watch to stand up like that at 5:20 ?
Good question mate!
I cut the foot off a plastic watch stand and kept the thing insside that expands the bracelet and makes it tight. Then it will stand on the clasp 👍
Thanks for the comment 🫶
That’s what I though! Thanks mate
Lovely watch! I’ll probably get the King turtle sometime in the future with the 4R movement. Personally, at this price I feel that Seiko needs to offer a higher beat movement. You see this 6R movement used even in their 750€ Alpinist. They also recycle the same movement for divers at the 1700€ price point when you take a look at their current catalogue. Seiko is no longer the people’s champion anymore. The jump in price in my opinion isn’t worth it compared to the 600 € King turtle
I understand. And you can’t go wrong w the King Turtle! 😍
good product
I have to agree. Seiko really delivered with this one 🤌
I didn’t even realize this piece has been out for a year
Yeah, man! 😆 Time flies by 😅
Where could I buy that genuine rubber strap please?
Hey!
I am not exactly sure since it is the OEM strap. But if you are referring to the tropic strap, then it is from cnswatchbands.
Thank you for the comment my friend 🙌
This is the first video of yours, and other than the unnecessary top off at the end, i liked it. But maybe im just jealous being that im a fat twat.
Great watch though, cant believe ive not picked 1 up yet. This version or the black series???
Hahahah, Thank you, my friend! Yeah, you are the second one to comment on that move. I guess lesson learned at this point 😂 In my defence, I am recording everything in my bedroom and my key light gets super warm, so my asss is sweating like a pig every time 😅
Thank you for your comment. I hope to see you in the next one 🤝
I really think this would have been a better watch with a 4R36
What is timekeeping like?
It unfortunately varies quite a bit. But this particular model has been very decent. But the 6r35 is not to count on when it comes to accuracy sadly..
Hi do you still have an enjoy this watch ?
Yessir. In fact, it is on my wrist right now 🙏
@wristviber famtastic thanks for the reply I have the 143 and keep getting tempted just seen new for £550 gbp from AD so tempted. But I have 143 as well so hard choice 😬
One needs to regulate the watch in watchmaker after buying it, we all know how inconsistent that movement is, here retail prices is like 1300 eur or something, case is good, versatile but the movement depends how lucky you are.
Thats facts right there!
@@wristviber And i bought because of the design and slimmer than average Willard. But i didn't pay full retail price ofc. We criticize, we buy, we complain.

@@earlbee3196 Nice! You won't regret it! Congratz mate!
Having or collecting swiss made or german watches (most carry swiss inside anyway) first for awhile, i wanted to add a japanese authentic diver. I had the SBDC 139 (paid the full retail and due to limited edition, jumped on it)) with that 6r35, and was very very disappointed. It runs like total crap. One day its already 20 seconds fast or 10-12 seconds slow....yes I know its rated inside that tolerance window, but after being spoiled with swiss made, and german watches for so long, this is just plain bad, not even within a week if you want to zero in the time or else it be running a whole butt minute fast or slow...... I had to sell it with a big loss too since seikos dont hold value like that. If automatic accuracy is concerned, there is too many brands swiss made for example that will crush this watch. I did research, and heard of this hit or miss thing, good for anyone got lucky. But that price is not good for me where you can get other brands with swiss inside that will holds its money worth. This watch should be sold in the 400-500 range with that poor accuracy where a san martin with base selitta will run +1 or 2 a day easy. I think GS will be the route for next time.
Since they invented quartz, and my one family member wears daily, are very good. For a EDC or GADA; Quartz-Solar is the way to go from Seiko.
Not trying to bash seiko, but their entry/mid-entry automatics these days are not worth the money in the market. A marketing strat to feed the consumer to their high end products.... or just me for a first seiko product to be disappointed in. But back in the day they were supposedly very cheap and like the skx when they were close to 100 bucks a pop that helds it value and rising. But ya to sum up, thats my opinion of the 6r35.
Hey man ✌️
Thanks for you comment!
Good feedback for sure!
And I u derstand and agree, it is not right that Seiko can’t promise greater accuracy at this price…
But personally I’m not too offended by this since I won’t buy brand new models. I will almost always buy secondhand. Because of this, I haven’t lost any money on Seikos, yet.. 😅
Also, it is worth mentioning that the movement can be regulated to be more accurate if it is really nessesary.
I would choose a Seiko over a San Martin every day of the week. Not because of the movement performance, but simply due to to the appeal of the design and haritage.
But over all, you are right, they should provide better value for the money. No doubt. But then again, it goes deeper then pure specs. Same reason why Rolex is so expensive compaired to other brands. It is not all about performance.
But luckly we have plenty options on the market. We make our ways around and find what scratch the itch the right way for us 🙏
Let me know what piece you end up settling with, mate! 😍
@@wristviber Ya but having to get it calibrated out of the box like saying: bought new and still have to go to watch maker to get it calibrated? thats a turn off in a consumer standpoint. Even Robert Downey Jr's watch collection video he was like what is this? a seiko? lol. Everyone goes through a regret decision during watch collecting and seiko is that experience of regretful purchase to me.
@@hikaizouguren4214 For sure. And rather come to that conclution sooner then later 😂🙏
My experience with the 6R35 is that it’s hot garbage. 🗑️ I have 2 watches with this movement and both run like shit. The timegraph on one of them looks like a goddamn sine wave.
