If Not For Millennials And Gen Z'ers, It Would Have Been A Red Wave, Says Pollster
I am a real old guy, drafted in 1971, worked all my career, paid taxes and retired at 67. I was shocked at the vote history of my peers. It scared me to death. Then I see the youth vote and said THANK GOD. They see the priorities and they registered and Voted. From Roe to Climate to Immigration to cost of college they saw the fight and they picked the right side of the politics. I was usually worried as the younger workers I saw came in late, left early and did sloppy work. But these folks I hope are different. I hope they study, learn and exercise their rights to vote to the full extent. America has true hope like I have not seen in years. Hope to change important laws to get rid of Dark Money, Cut out the greed in Congress, Take care of all Americans, fairly tax ALL Americans Then focus on the middle class rebuild. I have more hope now. I plan to leave a part of my estate to my alma maters so it can help more young kids get smart. Wow what a relief. D in VA
Delusional. Our election are bs and two terrible choices, no accountability, and money in politics take away any hope of a legit democracy or power returning to the people.

If they want to stay in power, all they have to do is follow the progressive agenda which is supported by a majority of young voters and many of the advocacy groups like the Sunrise Movement and March for Our Lives are even lead by them. My teenage son voted for the first time, this past Tuesday. He asked me who I thought he should vote for, and I found the perfect opportunity for a life lesson to teach. We talked about each party, what they stood for and where they stand today... I told him to research the candidates in our state. In the end, I told him to vote for the people that he felt addressed his concerns, etc. I did not know what direction he went until after we went to the polls. My son made me proud in many ways. He, first off, is not a Trump fan, by any means. He did not want to vote in a party that supported him, as Trump is a traitor and domestic terrorist. which, I agree completely. Then he told me he felt it was a woman's choice, and her choice only as to what happens to her and her body. "For people to want to take that right away from women is totally wrong, mom." Needless to say, after all of his questions and research, he voted blue because voting red would mean we were saying goodbye to our freedom... [his words] Proud momma here. The boomers (and older) are mostly not able to compete in sports any more so their full time hobby has become politics, which they can do 24/7 now with Fox news and the like. (Back in the day there was an hour of evening news with no propaganda). Notice they don't talk policy, only HATRED = HAT RED = RED HAT.
And Fox and the like figured out that Boomers are more concerned with hearing what they want to hear (i.e. they are great and should be in charge and borrowing money should be almost free so they can keep buying property and keep doubling our rent every two years and that you kids don't know how to work and all you do is complain about the rent going up and paying off student loans and expect free handouts and are spoiled etc.....) when in fact you are their servants, working full time to barely cover rent, and they should be thankful... instead they only want more more more.
The terrible thing is: boomers and above rarely graduated in debt and could afford a home and a family in their 20s because college was affordable and houses were affordable. Back in their day: real estate agents told clients that their monthly house payment should be around 25% of their income. You could work as a waiter and pay for your tuition back then, then graduate into a job where you could afford to buy a home.
Now they own everything, and they expect the value of property to double every two years. They expect all their 401k stocks to keep going up and up and up because banks don't pay enough interest on saved money to combat inflation so everybody is forced to put it into the stock market... and money was basically free to borrow which propped up all the real estate and stock bubbles for the Entitled Generation of DinoBabies. IT'S ABOUT TIME THE ADULTS TOOK OVER AND RAISED INTEREST RATES so that a person isn't penalized for saving money in the bank.
I AM SO GLAD YOU REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO KNOCK THEM OUT OF POWER.
IF ALL OF YOU VOTED, YOU WOULD CONTROL EVERYTHING. THEY ARE PASSING ON (but not without a fight - fighting to disenfranchise your votes and fighting to overturn elections since that is the only way they can win - by cheating). as an old lady ill tell ya right now you young people HAVE TO KEEP ON VOTING !! dont sit out any election!! the wackos on the right ALWAYS show up and they vote!!
I’m afraid I am not OK with inching forward. It is urgent that medical rights be restored to women yesterday if not sooner. We absolutely must fix this Supreme Court mess immediately.
@@BigKandRtv I would like faster progress, also, but that is now how this country works, unfortunately. A significant part of the USA needs to be dragged kicking and screaming into the future.
More women and young citizens growing more enraged at republican abuse of power and denial of privacy rights. It can only keep growing like steaming magma under a live volcano. And no, it's not OK! 🤬
@@BigKandRtv even though im so thankful for the young peoples vote on nov8th i do think its sad that only 26%of the young people turned out and voted! and i wonder are they all going to keep voting or is this it? they have to STAY INVOLVED! VOTE IN EVERY SINGLE ELECTION so much needs to be done!!
Proud of our young.. 👏👏👏
Hello Debbie how are you today and I hope this message meets you in good health? I like the comment you share. I admire your profile very much and it will be great to have you as a friend. Thank you and remain blessed 🙏
I'm 60 and I am glad to see the new guys. Hopefully they know that they've got to wrest control from corporations (which only care about profit) and to shape our economy into something more sustainable. I could see that plastic was bad when I was 7 years old and I've seen chemical trucks pulled up to storm drains so they can dump whatever was in the tanks of the truck into our ground water. I was raised in an area where the land was tortured for coal. Stay on target, reign capitalism into a more reasonable form, and DRIVE the changes our culture is going through right now so that we end up inclusive and focused on the right challenges.
Not so sure because some of us in our late 50 went blue. I was. Already blue.
Roe! That is the key motivator and 18 year Olds to 40 year olds are affected so its a given they will vote to get roe back
_ALL GENERATIONS _*_showed Up_* and made it happen. I get it that the Generation Z & Milleneals who are least likely to Vote didn't mess things up this time by Not Voting, but it was *_All Hands On Deck to Save America and Protect Fundamental Rights & Freedom._* The Younger Generation were encouraged by the previous Generation, and are following in their Footsteps. Let's keep it Real.
No need to feel threatened. Let's give the youngsters their due.
More young people voted due to social media. The new way to inform the younger generation to vote. Thanks social media
Love,Love, Love my Young adult Millennials,n Gen Z's.
As I speak to many of You in My Family n friends,I always told them how Proud I am of there Generation and How they are The Future Of This Magnificent State and around the World. Please don't let up,If you don't save Our Freedoms,n Our Planet, who will?
It is the young people's country to inherit and they have great ideas. As a 61 yr. old who believes in them, I am always glad to see them!
Thank you to all the people who are over 40 and voted! You all are amazing. Thank you for protecting American
We proud of you young people. Keep it up. You all are awesome.
Thank you young people 🙏🇺🇸💙you really make a difference, will be your future in good hands , God bless you all.
Thank you young people! You made the difference and have given America hope! Keep getting the message out to vote! Your voice matters!
I just want to take the moment here and thank all you young folks for getting out there and voting .
it's so important you find you're voice and let everyone know what important to you an d your friends. voting means a lot to me you know a lot more that you it's all of all these other people that you want to help out supposed
I used to tell my students on my school bus "You are the future of America and the World". Some smirked but I would like to think others understood.
John, Your book, FIGHT, was the first one I read about the youth vote and it saved my sanity in 2020. I can't thank you enough for all your work all these years. This is the fruition of your hard work. We must never stop telling the young people they have ALL the power.
I for one welcome our new gen-Z overlords.
Yes! Proud of our youth. Dem leaders: dont disappoint them and Fight for your platform once the election is over! e.g. stundent loan relief
The younger generation is really coming into their own! What great new leaders will we have in the future! They are more educated, intelligent, and care about real issues that matter!
Facts.
As a Millenial:
DO I NEED TO REACH RETIREMENT BEFORE NO LONGER BEING THOUGHT OF AS A KID? 😅
Lol. Right. I'm 40 years old! The 1st millenials graduated high school in the year 2000 (y2k). That was 22 years ago!😄
As a 70-something person of color, I have hope in the future when hearing how Gen Zers and Millennials are participating in our democracy. Thank you!
Thank you young Americans for caring about my children's future ❤️ ALL children!! Thank my 2 nephews for their vote 🗳 💙
We need young leaders and young voters. Party needs need to be from around 35+ to 60. Voters need to see the leaders taking on their issues.
Exactly.
You have Biden, full of youthfull energy
I'm an old left coast liberal who now votes in Florida's 10th district and helped to elect the first Gen Z representative to congress Maxwell Frost. It is time to pass the torch of leadership to the next generation and I'll be happy to pass it to this new liberal, better educated, and more diverse electorate. They share my values and hopes for our country's future. Stay energized, and stay engaged!
Thank you YOUNG VOTERS for standing up to make Justices Alito and Thomas understand that your body belongs to you, to send a message to most members of the GOP about Climate change, that you care about gun control, that you want to see intelligent lawmakers representing at the Capitol and who will defend your interests (not like McCarthy, MTG, no treators or fighters, no Walker who couldn’t remember to pay for abortions, and so on)
I'm just here to laugh at all the conservatives that told me how gen Z is going to be the most right-wing generation ever.
Ya hear that kids, Grandpa joe loves ya, and we love Grandpa Joe.
Yeah but he shouldn't run for reelection.
Thank you 🙏🏼 beautiful ladies for protecting the BLUE WALL!!! 💙💙💙💙🗳🗳🗳🗳🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Congratulations to young Americans from Canada ! 🎉🇨🇦🇱🇷
The young kids are Our Saviours .... Saving Democracy and DECENCY
Exactly.
Thank you, I'm enjoying this high gas, food inflation
Check out the world, friend-it’s all over the W O R L D.
@@lolodee3528 just a stupid troll. Do not feed. I'm seeing less of them after Election Night. Wonder why..
You know why it happened, didn’t you? All this quarantine unemployment that’s been paid out for 2 years straight it’s not gonna just gonna disappear into the nothingness like it never happened.
*IVE SAID FOR 5 YEARS GEN Z WILL SAVE THE WORLD*
super motivated, very left wing, they know its literally their lives on the line here, and they are starting to become politically active NOW...!!!
Ya, that's why left-wing Western Europe is collapsing in real time, right in front of our eyes.
Imagine a government that was under 40 in age, climate crisis averted
You sure? China and India are one of the biggest contributors to "climate change". Why not talk to them?
@@greenmordo9146 Every time someone says we should fix climate change someone else always comes in and brings up people who are worse. Like just because someone else is worse than us doesn't mean we shouldn't change.
@@BoxEnjoyer Right. But US is not a single planet. They share lands with China, India and other 100+ countries. I am not saying only one should change while others don't. Heck, even politicians who have protested against climate change are one of the biggest contributors of climate change: John Kerry, Taylor Swift and Leonardo diCaprio. Do you have any ideas, big or small, to "eliminate" climate change?
Behold the power of Gen Z !
Great group of people. 💯
