    It's not just Gen Z who feels politicians are inept, at any age if you're paying attention. Career politicians have been serving the ruling class and have been beholdened to their donors from the start of their careers. It's really about how politicians sell out the people, their own "beliefs" and campaign promises to personally profit from their position as a "civil servant". Most politicians motivations are self serving, ie profiteering from a broken system while their working class constituents drown in debt and despair. 😢

      In Canada, our employers HAVE to let us go for half a day (or 3 hours, but nobody does that), we just divide it in shifts so there is someone working. We also ALL have a picture ID that we use to get healthcare access, so that settles the ID part. And since we have voting halls set up by county, we ALL wait around the same 30 minutes to get to our booth. We also have advance mail-in or in-booth voting. And there is a supervising independent election agency, plus EVERY CANADIAN votes using the SAME RULES... None of that crazy State by State lunacy on a Federal vote that affects the whole country like in the USA. We also do NOT vote directly for our leader, except as a regular candidate for his\her own seat. The leader of the party with the most elected MPs (members of parliament) gets to be the PM. Also, our Senate has a lot less powers than the US one, It's ore like a wiser, older bunch of people that do oversight and checks and balance before we pass laws. I like this way a LOT better than direct voting with huge population centers having too much political weight. We also don't have an electoral college, because WHY would you?
      Elections in Canada only last a few weeks, not 6 months, there are NO primaries, and no cult like Presidential figure. There are NO PACs and donations and campaign funds are capped for all. No billion$$ ad money to steal the election.

      That's why I don't understand why the Congress stopped at only instituting term limits on the Presidency after FDR. It should have been for the House and Senate, also. The Senate especially, as they serve longer terms than a President. And just re-electing the same people means that the ideology doesn't change over time.

      Untrue... Check out Biden's track record to date. He's gotten plenty of bipartisan support for his accomplishments. The news is making it seem like he's done nothing, but in fact, the current administration has done quite a lot with Republicans AND Democrats working together. Remember Biden got to office by collecting old school Republican voters who didn't like Trump. He's about as moderate as they come.

      Aging itself as a universal law is not something gen z is afraid of or against. The truth of this law is as the brain ages it starts to deteriorate and humans get to a point where there are unable to function properly as they once did. What I believe this group of individuals is saying is that, they do not feel right voting for someone who is experiencing the mental and physical decline of age. Just as you would not put you life in the hands of someone as old as some of these candidates, you should not be putting your country in their hands either.

    • @alvallac2171
      @alvallac2171 Před 10 měsíci

      Twitter is part of the Internet, not WiFi. Those are two distinctly different things. You can use either one without necessarily having the other.
      WiFi is a wireless equivalent to an Ethernet cable- a way to connect one or more clients (computer, phone, etc.) to an access point (AP) a short distance away (inside your home, workplace, etc). That AP is presumably connected to a local area network (LAN) that's controlled by a router. Devices on your LAN can communicate with each other locally, without needing Internet service (e.g. for printer sharing, file sharing, media server, local multiplayer gaming, local web server, remote access, etc).
      In addition to their local network, routers have a WAN port (Wide Area Network), which can optionally be used to connect a modem. The modem connects to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), and the router is then able to share that WAN connection (Internet) with the client devices on its LAN.
      Sometimes the modem, router, switch, and AP are all contained in the same box (particularly when leasing residential equipment from an ISP), but that isn't always the case. It's also possible to not have an AP, and thus everything connects via Ethernet instead of WiFi.
      As mentioned, WiFi is part of a _local_ network. Twitter's servers are on _their_ local networks inside _their_ data centers around the world, not on _your_ local network. So, no, Twitter has nothing to do with your WiFi (or anything else about how your local network is set up). Twitter is part of the Internet, not WiFi.
      P.S.- Wired connections are usually faster, lower latency, and more consistent and reliable compared to wireless (such as WiFi or Bluetooth). WiFi is convenient for portable devices, but for stationary objects, wired is usually the way to go.

      This is such a silly way to look at these issues. Just because any other generation hasn’t gotten what they want doesn’t mean that other generations are invalid for wanting a reasonable candidate. I mean the age requirement is 35 and yet I don’t see any 35-45 year old candidates. Gen Z isn’t able to even represent themselves except through voting for 70+ which don’t really seem fit to run or represent our country. Gen X and Millennials have more opportunity to get what they so desire if they stop voting for these old men and find younger brighter minds for these positions.
