- This video is of a blocked drain being cleared at a childcare centre south of Brisbane.
The 100mm (4") sewer pipe entry in to a manhole is blocked with "flushable" nappy wipes.
We tell people not to flush them but secretly we want them to keep doing it as it's great for business!

S Sifr we actually unblocked a drain about a month after this one that had about 300 cockroaches crawl out. They were just hanging around where we were working and started crawling up my jeans. Not at all pleasant.

I was contracted to a company that was doing a sewer I/I study for all of St. Louis County. Inspecting a million manholes and millions of feet of mains. I got my first study area and had to go out in the field with the crew to address some mapping discrepancies. The first manhole we popped was plugged, they did the same thing and said this is what they do for fun. It was every bit as awful as you can imagine.
I'll bet this guy does really well at the crane arcade games.

What should be done here is to clean/replace the section of pipe at the mains outlet which is obviously built up with deposits which will inevitably clog the drains again with or without nappy wipes. I see why you choose the option of having a steady revenue stream.
How lucky was it that the clog was there and not further up the pipe! I'd hate to have to get down in there when i broke loose like that!

Ya know, say what you will about septic tanks, but this is one of the reasons why I am glad I have one. If someone decides to put a bunch of grease or wipes down the drain, they're affected by it, not me.
