Wow down to earth guy like working with a friend no big words no over the top drama for most part no editing out the oopps parts...well done sir had to subscribe
Totally agree, too many times you watch one of these videos, they’re telling you their life story and including a lot of stupid things that have nothing to do with fixing the problem. Thanks man 👍🏻
I moved to the south from NYC . People like this dude is common down here. Taking his time to help ppl out by recording this video, different camera angles and lighting... All for no charge. They'll turn down money but will gladly accept a case of beer or bottle of their favorite booze.
Thank you for this video, looks like a painful process, appreciate you taking the time to film it as well. Not sure if I want to send it out or slowly chip away at it and fix it myself. Your video made it look more possible. Might have at it.
Good job, thanks for your valuable time. I have to change out the gasket on my 2001 Dodge Ram 3.9L. The gasket appears to be different but I know the dos & don'ts. Hats off, thanks.
Good instructor video real good content good camera work I have a 2002 Dodge Ram also 4.7engine need to replace rear seal and oil pan gasket you made it look very doable... Thanks keep up the good work....
Buddy just now got finished the job is a piece of cake like you said the only hassle is that damn adhesive I don’t know what they use but that stuff ain’t no punk by a damn shot but once again thanks for the video you saved me cashmoney
I have done several of these ram oil pan gaskets , and I swear they must use a super adhesive when assembling these engines. Thanks as always for watching.
awesome video and this is how videos should be done. not looking forward to doing the job seeing the oil pressure sending switch was not my issue. starting to think the oil pick up tube maybe partial clogged or my oil pump is starting to go so shes sitting waiting on parts only 159k miles on my 02 ram 1500 4.7l
This takes me back to the first one I replaced for the exact reason. I was having oil pressure issues , and adding extra oil to the truck helped get me home. After I pulled the oil pan off it was full of gunked up oil and debris etc. The trucks oil changes had been neglected from the previous owner . I cleaned the pan , removed the pick up tube and cleaned it ( screen clogged ) , and cleaned the lower portion of the engine. After that I had zero issues with oil pressure. But anyways that was my first experience with the 2002 ram 1500 oil pan and , I discovered the hard way how to remove it . Thank you for the feedback.
Question: On my truck I had a hard time getting one end of the aluminum "Dust Structural Cover" lowered down past the passenger side end-mount for the cross-member. Also couldn't get pan out without slipping it to the side and removing the pump suction line bolts. Had to take that line, the gasket, and pan out all at once, together. One would think that my engine is too low, a motor mount issue perhaps. What are your thoughts?
If or when you have to change the gasket again? Try removing the Oil Fill Cap While Draining It. It Should make removing the gasket a whole lot easier.
I just dropped pan down 1/2 inch. And with 2 big tubes of silly cone. Hooped it all way round was tricky. But used my hand. 🤚 with most. Lol but I bolted it back up. And wiped all the excess off. So nobody sees and freeks out. . Lol. But trick is. To let it dry for few days. You don’t want the gobs. Of silly cone to get mixed in oil. 😮
I agree on the cure time , I always wait atleast 24 hours. I resealed another truck by using rtv but taking the gasket off and cleaning it first. It never leaked a drop. The ultra black rtv has never let me down , but all the others have at some point. Great work and thanks for sharing.
So you don't have to jack the engine up? Like every other video says. I'm about to pull the pan on my 06 ram 1500 5.7. Any info would be highly appreciated.
@@s33therfan oh ok. And thank you for the amazing video. I was watching another ftom like a shop but I noticed they use tools and stuff I can't buy and I thought there could be a video that would do the same job with no many tools and I found yours. Thank you again.
If the oil pan gasket is good , then I would be thinking a rear main seal. Usually not worth fixing unless a bad leak or removing the engine or transmission. Thank you for the feedback.
@Francisco Lopez hi, I have to replace piston # 4. I have 4 wheel drive, and I'm at the point of taking out the front diff screws. There are two that have a nut on the end, and when I tried to take the screw out of the very top holes of the diff, the head hits the side of the oil pan, and there's not even enough room, basically, to take the screws out on top. The other three came out fine. I also had to torch all of them ( I have a 2005 ram 1500)

I really appreciate the kind words and thank you for the great feedback.
Thank you. Instead of just saying, “take this and this and that off”, you actually go through the process 👍
Thank you for the great feedback.
This is the best repair video I have ever seen great video quality and sound and commentary. Great job.
I really appreciate the terrific feedback , thank you.
When you get motivated to finally change that leaky pan gasket yet you just changed the oil today. Damn it.
About my luck , thanks for watching.
Just changed the gasket on my 4.7… used your video from start to finish. Thanks for the video
Excellent! Thank you for the terrific feedback.
Thank you for this video, looks like a painful process, appreciate you taking the time to film it as well. Not sure if I want to send it out or slowly chip away at it and fix it myself. Your video made it look more possible. Might have at it.
You can do it for sure . Thank you for watching.

Great video you can tell exactly where and what you're looking at and no weird jump scenes 🤘
Thank you very much for the terrific feedback , much appreciated.
As always, great work. shooting and explanation is excellent.👍👍👍😊

Awesome. Other videos I saw showed had to off part of drive shaft maybe more. Best video using yours as a guide
Thanks 👍 , really appreciate the feedback.
Thank you so much got this project to do this weekend
Thank you very much for watching.
Great Video! Very Informative And Str8 Forward! Thanks!
Thank you for the great feedback.
Very good job thanks for teaching what you know.
Thank you for taking the time and leaving great feedback. Thanks for watching.
Awesome video, will be doing this job on my ram in a week or two
Good luck on yours and thank you for the kind words.

Wow good job amigo 👏 que Dios te bendiga
Thank you very much , God bless as well.
everybody else was telling me i have to either drop the diff or raise the engine just to get clearance to take it off
Thank you for watching.
If it’s a 4x4 yes.. bolts are stiff af to loosen. Everything shown in this video is pretty easy to do.
Did u get it done w/o lowering Diff ?
you're a patient man, by that time my crowbar would be at hand 😁, that plastic piece you broke on the starter is probably a drain tube .
I have done several of these ram oil pan gaskets , and I swear they must use a super adhesive when assembling these engines. Thanks as always for watching.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
Wow good job my friend
Thank you very much
I also own an 02 Ram AND this video is going to be my tutorial on how to replace that gasket, dead serious..
Thank you so much.
Excellent job, No back and forth.
Thank you very much.
It’s possible to remove that brace without supporting the transmission or engine in some way?
If or when you have to change the gasket again? Try removing the Oil Fill Cap While Draining It. It Should make removing the gasket a whole lot easier.
Well done 👍🇺🇸😎
Thank you very much.

How'd that go with the 5.7? Mines an 03 5.7. How'd you support it?
Is it possible to see inside the oil pickup tube with an inspection camera from the oil drain plug?
I think you could . There may be just enough space under the pick up tube. Thanks for the feedback.
@@s33therfan its pretty close to the botto of the pan huh?
So no differential lowering ?
To remove the oil pan, Does the engine need to be lifted on 2009-2012 ram 1500 5.7L?
Did u get it done? I thought differential had to drop a bit
I wonder if a thin flathead screwdriver can be used to separate the pan?
I would only use a putty knife , screwdrivers work great but may run the risk of gouging the pan. Thanks for the question.
@@s33therfan oh ok. And thank you for the amazing video. I was watching another ftom like a shop but I noticed they use tools and stuff I can't buy and I thought there could be a video that would do the same job with no many tools and I found yours. Thank you again.
Nice video. But I don’t see a drive line or front differential so this must be a 2wd truck. Not so easy on a 4wd
The plate between the oil pan and transmission I have a little leak any idea how I can fix that
If the oil pan gasket is good , then I would be thinking a rear main seal. Usually not worth fixing unless a bad leak or removing the engine or transmission. Thank you for the feedback.
@@s33therfanI fixed the problem that gasket plate was a little tight I loosened it a little and it stopped thanks again
Did you have to drop exhaust or anything
No , I did not. Thanks for the feedback.
Only differential if it’s a 4x4.. found out the hard way which is a pain in the butt if the bolts are rusted out.

I did not have to jack the engine up. Thanks for the feedback.
Not even lower the Diff ?
Is that upper oil pan gasket?
It is just the oil pan gasket. This truck uses high temperature rtv to seal the bed plate. Thanks for the question.
With as glued on as that thing was, how in the hell was it leaking? LOL.
I asked myself the same question . Thank you for watching.
Is that a 5.9l magnum
This has the 4.7l , thanks for the feedback.
What is the name of the gasket?
It is the oil pan gasket , thank you for the feedback.
Was this one the hemi my guy?
This has the 4.7L. Thank you for watching.
@@s33therfan ah nuts but thanks tho i managed to do it not too too far off then from the 4.7 then
