Thanks Rees, I also have a 3.9ltr in a 2000 SLT. Have had it since '09 and it's basically the same truck as yours. I'm thinking about changing to dual FlowMasters and your video although not about a dual set up is very good and has helped me get a better feel for the issues I'll need consider for the basic switch. Thanks much and good luck with your Dodge. I really like mine and honestly intend keeping it for a very long time. So far there's nothing out there I like the looks of better than this 2nd gen Dakota.

Thank you! They really are great trucks. I'm planning to upgrade to a full size pickup down the road, but until then I will continue to be extremely happy with my Dakota.

    I can't find this muffler for my 1999 Dodge Ram 3.9L V6. It's a short-bed regular-cab

    1. It's not very disruptive at all when driving down the road. You mostly hear it during acceleration, so it has next to no effect for me when I'm on the highway.
    2. I don't, although it's very much a personal preference thing. Inside the cab, it is definitely noticeable, but it has a nice, low tone that is not very intrusive. I actually enjoy listening to it.

I know this is really old but where did you get the extension coming from the cat?

Exhaust extension pipes should be fairly easy to find at most auto parts stores. In my case the existing piping coming out of the converter and the diameter of the muffler were both 2.5 inches so I was able to just get an extension piece that matched that.

I would prefer the tailpipe to sit more flush with the body just a pinch higher up

Have to ask, how does it sound while driving down the road ? Do you find it annoying at higher RPM's ?
    Thanks in advance
