Such good questions. I just did my pre-drywall walkthrough and found out my windows are delayed. 😩 That was def a blow, because they’ve done all they can do until the windows come in. Praying they come SOON so they can get back to working.

If not done already the water heaters and furnace should be placed on cinder block should you get water in the basement. I am viewing your older videos first. You didn’t mention pump sumps. Ask the contractor doing your basement. Also do not apply any paint other than drylok to any cement areas. Drylok is used basically to waterproof. If you use any other paint you will not be able to apply drylok later.

I personally think the private inspection should come after the builders inspection because you are paying for the inspector to look for any errors in the building of your home . It’s not your inspectors job to highlight any mistakes the builders is making before the builder signs it off it for an inspection it is the other way around . Otherwise you will have to pay your private inspector to come in again to check their work . Please speak to an inspector for further advice but it’s not your responsibility to pay for a inspection before it’s signed off , your home should be signed off as okay by the builder and at that point your private inspector checks it over and highlights any issues of which then the builder corrects.
