Cloud Defensive CORv1 Overview and Install

One note I did not cover in this video..
No, this rail will not work with piston gas systems as the gas block/piston is too big. With the lowered rail section the inner portion of the handguard it getting very close to the gas block so you'll need to be running a low pro block and a direct impingement system.
What gas block are you using on this build?
So the superlative adjustable .625 clamp on gas block won’t fit?
Almost perfect. If it just had one rail slot forward of tge cut out for a rail mounted fixed sight
Stoked to get home and throw my FDE v1 on the sbr!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome video, keep the content coming!
Thanks for watching!
slick rig, thanks for the video
Just ordered my V2 for $121. Can't wait for it to arrive
Very cool! Thanks for the review!
solid review
That is super slick!
Very cool rail.
im looking forward to a even longer version
Still waiting lol
Makes me want to upgrade!
Very interesting product show. A different take on production design and application. Obviously waiting for the OWL also to see installed.
I'm excited to get hands on. Will report back.
Loved this rail the minute I saw it. But they need more lengths. Maybe that's to come... I hope
Great overview. I wanted to try one of these but couldn't find any end user info/feedback - thank you. Your channel is way underrated IMO.
Thanks for watching!
That lower cut out is genius! Perfect for that pressure pad application, very slim just how you mentioned it! Sexy too!
But I'm really looking forward to your owl review. So far, Sage Dynamics digs the owl. Just waiting for one more blessing.
Thanks HJ 86
I'm looking forward to getting the OWL. I'll be doing a quick benchtop vid like this one on it as soon as it arrives. Of course I had to be difficult and order the multicam black. :D
@@Highjak86 I wouldn't blame you, the multi-cam black is bad-ass!
I hope they bring out different length rails, I really want one for my Springfield Armory Saint Gen 1 with the FSB.
Two more lengths are on the way per my understanding. A 10.5" and a 13"~.
@@Highjak86 well my rifle is a midlength with the Front sight post, I hope they make a rail that will fit on my Saint.
@@jessitaylor4170 Mid-length gas system with FSP is around 9" in length. This one shown here MAY work, but I can't confirm.
@@Highjak86 I've been trying to email them but I haven't got a response back yet.
That that sure fire stand up against the pressure coming out of the muzzle?
Great overview. Looking forward to the OWL :) I also wish they would have extended the rail a bit by adding a slot to be able to mount the front sight upfront. Also, how did you paint or where did you buy the multicam BCM vertical grip? Thanks!
Black Multicam cerakote was done by We Plead the 2nd. 00:27
@@Highjak86 Thank you!
What is your barrel length on this firearm? I have the Cor and ordered an 11.5" barrel, just curious how it'll look.
What charging handle are you using on the BCM?
Update vid with the OWL on it?
Is it any stiffer than the kmr? Run a kmr with a MAWL IR and have lost zero on it multiple times from getting banged around.
Hey man. Did you have any issue with getting your gas block in? I just bought this and my OdinWorks Lowprofile has block won’t fit inside this rail.
Which optic u running?
Sort of off topic but I'm a noob looking for a weapon light for my AR which is a carbine length w/ Mid West industries M-Lok drop in handguard.
I was set on the Streamlight ProTac HL-X and using a IWC thorntail offset mount but then discovered the Arisaka 600 and liked the parts commonality with Surefire components.
Now I'm filled with indecision. Suggestions?
In my opinion, in regards to durability the Arisaka lights are just as good as the Surefire option, but for far less cost. This is why I like Arisaka. I have Surefire, Arisaka, Streamlight, and now the Cloud light on the way and with that said, in my opinion/experience, the Arisaka based lights are better and more durable than all the Streamlight rifle light options.
I hope they make a 9.25 rail
Needs more rail on the front
So i can use v grip on 11.5 upper. So confusing
Is this 11.5 barrel?
Unless you run the owl this rail doesn’t seem really like a good idea. Limited in what you can run. Now with the owl it’s super cool and slick. Wish they have some more rail slots in front for your sights
Is that an s.b.r build or pistol? And If pistol is ok to have an vertical grip on the rail like that?
Legally it's neither in the configuration shown here. It has a pistol brace, but it is over 26" and has a vert grip so legally it's a "firearm". Pistol is NOT okay for a vert grip UNLESS you file the paper work to make it an OAW or your OAL is >26" like mine is.
You literally didn't see the SBA3 st the back? Just goes to show you how retarded the NFA is lol
BRO...everytiime i see one of these videos, i wanna change my setup lol ive changed it like 5 times now
🤔...
🤨 That doesn't go like that‼️

The only value I see in this setup is for lowering IR devices for better optic placement. The added “bulk” of the lcs on a standard pic rail is worth the versatility of pressure pad & front sight placement not to mention you never notice the added height under stress ...extremely niche product for IR devices IMO.
You did see the CORv2 that was also shown in the video via screenshots from CD website, right?
Highjak86 Indeed; however you can do that on an MCMR and even better because standard pic rails have an extra slot, placing your LCS further forward than the COR is capable of.
Ergonomically you benefit by lowering IR devices(better cheekweld) not from lowering LCS or an OWL. This product should be marketed as an IR rail.
thesojourner Yeah... ok...
Wonder how they got the rights to use the BCM attachment for the Rail didn't realize it was the same
CD licensed it from BCM per my knowledge.
@@Highjak86 Nice just doing things the right way!
Cloud said screw you 9 inch and lower guys.
I wish they gave just a hair more space for a front sight
Like the CORv2?
@@Highjak86 not that much. Just one or 2 rails
@@crunchyknees3622 2 isn't going to cut it unless MAYBE you have a BUIS up all the time or a picatinny FSP like the Daniel Defense. 5 to 7 slots is standard/typical and the CORv2 has 7.
@@Highjak86 ah. Well I have a dd fixed front sight. So it would work for mine but maybe not a buis or kac
@@crunchyknees3622 Yeah, unfortunately that is a pretty niche request on an already purpose-driven/niche rail system. We likely will never see that specific rail with such a small amount of pic rail slots in front.
Didn't they make this rail with the intention of using it with their owl lite?
....I commented before watching the video
@@apb2887 Ha! Yep! That and a few other things as listed on their website and mentioned briefly in this vid.
@@Highjak86 great video. Cloud Defensive makes awesome products
@@apb2887 Thanks for watching!!
👍🍻
Now if they'd just ship the OWL....
The black and FDE versions have been shipping. I'm just waiting on the more complex kote scheme - multicam black. :)
That rail is like my sex life, i dont have one but i really want one
COVID 19 RAIL
You have too much money, just jealous man
Eh, I put what little I make on CZcams these days back into the channel. A lot of the other stuff you see isn't always mine either so it really helps when companies like CD go out of their way to support us.
You just really gotta care and be committed to your firearms. It's a lifestyle.
Just say no to clickbait arrows.
