    Excellent breakdown of the M&P 2.0. I did not know about the RMR not being waterproof from the factory. Thanks for showing.

    • @Highjak86
      @Highjak86  Před 5 lety +1

      I mean it is waterproof if it's sealed on the bottom, but that isn't always the case on a pistol if the slide isn't wide enough as most pistol slide aren't thus the sealer plate is required in that/this case. Thanks for watching!

    Pretty cool. I have a 17 Milled by Doug, the pocket is nice and tight. I m think about sending 2.0 compact to him also... But going with universal cut this time around for a couple of my own reasons.... My sweat eats into the RMR housing and pro cut means I can't easily go to a replacement unit without nodding the pocket if the replacement is too long.

    I'm all for having a tight fit and all... but if for some reason you change out your optic to something different like a Holosun, or yours goes bad and you need a new one now you have such a tight tolerance that you may have to send it off to be milled again to get a hair worth of material out of the way.

  • @rich1958
    @rich1958 Před 5 lety

    Question... factory sights come at certain heights and when you replace (I thought) you were supposed to get same height. How is it, that same gun can use higher sights and/or RMR and maintain accuracy? This question applies to all pistols.

    • @Highjak86
      @Highjak86  Před 5 lety +1

      There would no point in getting the same height - you wouldn't be able to see over the red dot to co-witness them which is entirely the point of replacing the sights in this case. It's simply a matter of height over bore, that's all.

    It would be nice if Smith made a full length barrel and slide mated to the shorter grip of the compact 2.0. Concealing slide is easy, full size grip not so much.

    • @Highjak86
      @Highjak86  Před 5 lety +1

      I personally would pref the opposite - basically a G19X. I like the shorter slide with the longer grip if I'd have to chose between one or the other. I'd buy a 19X for example, but if Glock did say a 19 frame with a 17 length slide... nope not interested.

    Smith makes good guns, but I will never buy another S&W product. The fact that they don’t make any of their spare parts available for any of their guns is a deal breaker for me. Sorry but if my gun goes down I want the option to be able to fix it myself if I have to. I had an M&P 10 but I couldn’t even get a spare bolt for the thing. If the Lefties are eventually able to ban certain firearms (i.e. semi-auto rifles) I would expect manufacturer support to go away. So now I only own guns I can get an array of spare parts for; mainly glocks, mil spec AR-15’s, and DPMS patterned .308’s.

    • @the8jrfan
      @the8jrfan Před 5 lety +1

      MFPWM2010 Yep I totally agree. You can buy a spare for almost every single Glock part. That’s why I have 10 of their guns.

    • @92JoseR

      92JoseR Why go through all that when I can just buy the $8 part I need?

    • @MFPWM2010
      @MFPWM2010 Před 5 lety

      92JoseR - Will they send you basically any spare part you can think of with no questions asked? My experience is that for most things they want you to send the gun in so they can work on it. I personally don’t want to be completely dependent on a gun company. What if the lefties eventually get certain guns banned? What if the company goes bankrupt?
