Yeah the endings are so abrupt. I think it's just because the videos lack a proper outro (which I miss. When is Funky Kong going to dance again?).

The beginning shortcut is really easy to do shroomless on 200cc. Just charge a mini-turbo and hop over the grass
you can even do that on 150cc
Mushroom gorge is gonna be such a fun track because the gap cut has a difficulty spike with that hop. It’s obviously not a hard cut, but when 1 or 2 people know how to Do it in a 12 player lobby those players will take a solid lead!
Also I bet It’s way easier on 200CC

And before you say anything, I’ve been playing on 200cc since like 2016 (because once I started using it I could never go back; the other ones are too slow) so I should be able to do it unless I’m just bad at it because I always fall off even with the mushroom, and the few times I do make it I end up going straight into the hill-

Actually got it my first try but haven't gotten it in a few times since.
I knew it’d be possible as the Expert Nintendo ghost for Mushroom Gorge actually does the gap jump.

They knew what people wanted back in this version of the course and they delivered
A more useful strategy would be to bounce on the blue mushroom to start parachuting, then bounce on the red mushroom that is the closest to the gap jumping area to keep parachuting and make the shortcut easier to conquer!

Never been so happy to be wrong. I was convinced it would be like MK8 Grumble! Happy they kept it in, that makes me smile.
It actually is possible in MK7 (and, in fact, quite easy) by using the blue glider mushroom pad on the left side, then bouncing off the edge of the last red mushroom pad and using that extra momentum to glide over the gap.
About MK7, he was talking about the beginning shortcut, where the first two mushrooms on the left had been removed to prevent it

Not only is possible with a normal hop, but failing the shortcut is more forgiving than the wii and 3DS versions

The glider gap jump was a thing in MK7 though right? I feel like I remember that. I wonder if glider would be faster/comparable to this
Yeah, glider was the only way to do it in MK7

I'm glad they at least did Mushroom Gorge justice. Sure, it does look like a Mario Kart Tour import with shaders and minor tweaks - but such additions help the track look better than all the tracks in the DLC Waves so far. It's just a shame Coconut Mall wasn't given the same love. Overall, still, overtly, a lazy DLC pack, but aside from the grass textures yet again, Mushroom Gorge is gorgeous to look at and play (no pun intended).
I did this on Time Trials too & popped off so hard when I found out it’s doable.
Technically if you don't include the "Bam shock Dodge" as votes in either direction, it's closer to 70% but yeah
it'd make more sense to distribute the bam shock dodge votes proportionally. essentially, don't count them and calculate the new percentages with the lower denominator.

I was really looking for this, the moment I saw where the death barrier was there I was hoping for it to be an actual thing.
It feels great being part of the 20% club but to be honest the reason I said yes was because of 200cc. I was really pumped when I tested it out earlier today on 150cc. I’m so glad it’s back again and same with the beginning cut.
I'm glad that they kept the shortcut in. I thought they would take it out for sure, but I'm glad I was wrong.
if dk summit gets added, i hope they will keep the shortcuts possible from mkwii
I love how in the cave section they fused mario kart wii and 7 cave so both are included the blue mushroom path and the mario kart wii paths so 3 paths in the mushroom section

Don't know how many characters will be able to replicate this especially in 150cc, but the wooden fence on the gap jump (slightly to the left of where Waluigi lands), doesn't have an invisible wall above it. Might be easier to correct yourself for the next lap so that you don't go off road or lose speed, but obviously you need to go much faster in order to clear it. Was also super stoked to find out that this shortcut is back in the game :)

oh as soon as the dlc came out i went on 150cc tried the gap jump, failed, went on 200cc and instantly did it... i wonder if the ultra shortcut is back

Not only is it possible, you can do it more cleanly with the right strats AND with the right alignment you can even go OVER the fence on the left on the gap :)
Its way easier to do on 200cc but you an way overshoot it depending on aim, Its so nice its here tho

In Mk7 you could do it because shrooms would extend your gliding duration in that game. I wish that was still possible

To get to know the tracks I play them in all of the ccs and win because all of the trophies are satisfying to look at. Right now I just finished sky high Sunday on 50cc
