Super presentation..Honest and straight forward... Always had hoped to visit or retire in the Philippines, especially in Social Security...
But, how's your health ? I have friends in several parts of the PI..Some financially successful, some not..ALL warn me about high health costs AND lack of emergency help or ambulance service...😮
I got Congestive Heart Failure and Prostate Cancer ! At 73, maybe my retirement dreams might be the musings of an old duffer !😅😅
Thanks Again for your condo tour and valuable advice...😊

@@robpage7125 Depends on where you live, but if you have chronic diseases, stay where you are. Anywhere you go, you need Health Care Insurance and money, not only in the Philippines. As we get older, we are prone to any disease, needs vaccination, but if you need to take a vacation, better get a medical clearance from your Primary Care Physician.

@@robpage7125There are placed such as Manila, Cebu and Dumagete that are bigger cities and have decent healthcare services. If you adapt to Philippine life and walk more, eat better you will probably be on less meds, not more. There is a guy who’s channel is Every Man Has A Story, he has had bypass surgery and has a significant heart condition. He is confident that he gets as good of care as he would in the US. But do your research.

Good to see someone presenting an alternative to the many other alternatives usually presented.
If I should leave the US I don't want to go somewhere else and replicate the life I already live in the US. I'd actually want to change (reduce) my standard of living to something more manageable, and in every respect, not just financially.
I think you have the opportunity to really capture the interests of a niche market of potential expats coming from the west. Not everybody has the interest/ability to go overseas and build half-million dollar homes, and some people simply don't want to. Some are truly chasing the simpler life.
Good luck to your channel and I will definitely be following.

My modern one bedroom townhome apartment south of Manila is $70 USD per month. I’ve lived here for six years in 4 different places and have never paid over $100 a month rent. At one place, I only paid $40 a month including utilities.
As a single guy, my cost of living averages around $250 a month. And that is a comfortable lifestyle, not luxurious, which is not my cup of tea, but I enjoy everything my heart desires.
It’s great you made this video because I see some really stupid ones out there claiming that the cost of living here is a lot higher than it actually is. Without coming here and experiencing this first hand, I would have never known things were so affordable, because of all of the misinformation online.

$2000 is a healthy budget in the Philippines. $500-600 a month will get you a furnished luxury apartment in Nuvali or other expat areas. Words of advice: Sky is the limit on price though, you can find apartments or houses that exceed your budget, don't act like you are king and don't tell the bar girl how much money you have. What area of the Philippines are you looking at? Just remember the initial start up costs....Your first six months will be your most expensive. After that roll it back.

Well, we pay $90 US and it's a 2 yr old building with a store 50 ft away. Utilities for Electric, gas for the stove, high speed internet, and cell phone is about $75 to $90 US more. After that it's up to you how you buy your groceries and spend your time. It's the expats favorite places that cost more. You could have a maid visit twice a week for 2 hrs to tidy your place and check on you for about $100 more. It's not expensive unless you want it to be.

Shes been away from home for 5 years now and honestly doesnt miss it but we do want to do a long vacation there sometime. Kids are only 3 1/2 and 16 months right now. I think I want them both to be at least 3. Even then .. I cant imagine dragging little kids through the Philippines. I know they do it, but I'm an American. So either we rough it with the busses, jeeps and trikes, which is fun for me, or we rent a car or maybe get private drivers and that gets EXPENSIVE.
