    This was super! When I first started using PBI I was confused by the licensing. I have gradually understood how it works but your video filled in a lot of gaps in my understanding. Thank you, this was a very thorough and clear explanation of a complex system.

    I guess you missed one information or I missed that in your video: For Power BI Embedded, only P SKUs and F SKUs equivalent to a F64 SKU or higher, allow free Power BI users to consume Power BI apps and shared content in Power BI service. Smaller SKUs require a Pro license to consume Power BI content. For A SKU every viewer still needs Pro License

    Many thanks @Reza, Great Video as usual, it will be fine if you manage to put your clarification video carefully inside the presentation to avoid hiding some slides points.

    Thank you very much for this helpful presentation. I have a question: for the users having a license Pro only to visualize the reports and dashboards, is there a limitation regarding the size of the datasets to which they could have access? Or is the size limited only for the creation of contents? Thanks.

    Capacity-based PowerBI Embedded prices look scary in 2024, not sure if we can turn these nodes off

    Good explanation of all the license options! Just a small note: your webcam video is blocking the slides sometimes, see 27:20 for example

    Thank you very much for awesome videos! They are very helpful, they'd be more useful if you could include the link and name (description) of your other videos that you mention in this one so that they are one click away for the follower. That would probably increase your views as well :) . Thanks again!

    Is there a way to understand the 'referesh rate' and 'maximum storage'?

    • @RADACAD

      Glad it helps
      The refresh frequency, is limited by the license. with Pro it is 8 times a day, with Premium 48 times, with unlimited API refreshes
      storage is also dependent on the premium nodes, for Pro it is 10GB with each PBIX not more than 1GB. with Premium it can go up to 400GB.

      @NancyMancarious Před 11 měsíci

      @@RADACAD thank you so much for replying.
      Yes, I get these values from the PowerBI website. But what does the 'referesh' entail. Is it per report? Or for all the dashboards and reports on the licence?
      Also, does the storage include the raw data as well? So by what you've said, this means that for the Pro licence, I can have 10 reports, each of 1 GB size?

    We already have embedded purchased. But now we are needing to purchase premium capacity. How would that work billing wise? Do we have to pay for both separately? Or will premium encompass embedded?

  • @lakeoffm
    @lakeoffm Před 6 měsíci

    There's something that I still don't get about the Premium capacity. There's a limit of 400GB for the dataset - but does it apply separately to each of the datasets? In other words, can we have multiple datasets of 400GB each or do they sum up?

  • @workstuff5253

    If we have 100 Pro users (approx 10 workspaces/16 reports currently), the price appears to be similar to an F16 under annual commitment. Other than the next tier up of functionality, is there anything else to consider or is this not a fair comparison?
    Also, I wish to offer my belated, yet sincere condolences to you.

    Hi RADACAD, if Power BI Pro is a Developer license, why is it that Microsoft has forced viewers of PBI Workspaces to also have atleast a Pro license?

    Hi Radacat, What if i have a userbase of 200 people but only 2 people are making datasets. is it posible to have 2 persons having PPU where all the others have PRO licence? Are they still able to use the Reports made by the premium users? Kind Regards, Joris

    • @inkuban
      @inkuban Před rokem +2

      From what I understood, in your situation, you can get a premium capacity license and use a pro license for the developers. The rest wouldn't need a license, just a free account.

    • @NancyMancarious
      @NancyMancarious Před 11 měsíci

      As far as I have read, PPU/ Pro users can only share the reports with other users having the same licence. The only way you can share the reports with a user that has a lower licence, is by sharing it through the Premium Per Capacity subscription.

  • @spencerwang991

    I am the only developer and the 20 other individuals are users. I need to share reports with them, but they do not have any licenses. I have granted them access through the free trial provided by Microsoft 365 admin. Which license do you recommend for this situation? Will PPU (Power Platform User) work for giving access to the other users?

    • @RADACAD
      @RADACAD  Před měsícem

      Depending on what features in Power BI you are using. If you are not using Premium features, then you can purchase Pro for each user. If you use premium then either use PPU, or a low F capacity plus Pro
